  Very unprofessional! Made an appointment to get an estimate for this morning. Brian Giveron left and never came back. I would have like to atleast give a verbal rejection like other professional companies will have done than being ghosted like this when I am in need of one of your services.

  Call to have a metal roof installed the lady that answered the phone said no one’s around, but they don’t really install metal roofs. What kind of horrible company is this? Nothing worse than trying to beg someone to install a metal roof and they’re too weird or confused to even know if they install metal roofs, but apparently they don’t.

  Samuel, after talking with our secretary, it sounds like you're looking for a metal roof on a commercial building. She simply tried to explain to you that we are not able to take on metal roof jobs for commercial buildings due to the size of commercial buildings and the time it takes to install metal. I believe if you were more patient during the phone call, you would have had a better understanding of this. I also couldn't help but notice every one of your reviews are only 1-star reviews?   We tried to contact Van Derhoof about siding work. A team came out to look at our house to develop a quote. Ghosted thereafter. After three attempts to contact the office over two months, we never received a call back. We would not recommend this company.

  I called to set up a time and date for a estimate. I was waiting for a call back, a guy named Brian Mcgiveron called me at almost 7 p.m. last night 315-256-****. I was at work and had to call back (not knowing who it was) when he told me who he was I asked why he was calling so late (the business closes at 4:30 p.m.) he said "It can't be too late if you're answering the phone." I said I'm at work he said then I'll have to call back at 8 a.m. I said okay that's fine. He never called me at 8 a.m. nobody has called me. I winded up calling and currently waiting for another call back. I'm just going somewhere else at this point very unprofessional. Brian calling me passed the business hours and being rude and not following through he had no intentions on calling this morning but he made sure to be very strange and standoff-ish when calling my phone at 7 p.m. weirdo

  I called them in November to get a quote. Lady called me back and said her associate would get back to me... 2-3 weeks later no phone call.

  Do not waste your time. It took me multiple attempts for someone to even call me back to schedule a quote. Once I finally was able to get ahold of someone, I already had two quotes from two other companies. Once someone finally came over, I was told that work would not be able to start until a year later. After the examination of the roof, I was told I’d receive a quote within 24-48 hours. Without any update, I reached out a week later – no response. The following day I reached out again – no response. Here we are over two weeks from the inspection of the roof and not a single reply or message. With the numerous roofing companies in the area, you would think customer service would be their top priority. Highly disappointed.

  May 2025 replaced most of the roof. August 2026 replaced gutters front of house. On time quick quotes, clean when finished.

  Almost thirty years ago Van Derhoof Roofing put a roof on our house.....and....now they've done it again. We priced the job out with three different companies; Van Derhoof Roofing was the lowest!! Yes, the lowest. And clear about their contract and so professional and cleaned up so well we wouldn't have known they were there working!! We love the finished product.....and did I say how professional they all are?

  Vanderhoof replaced the house, garage, and in law apartment roofs today. I was impressed by the work ethic of the laborers. They worked hard, only took a short lunch break and completed the entire house in 1 day. Their supervisor is respected by them, and they even brought him lunch. They were all very professional, well mannered and helpful. Thank you Vanderhoof.

  Many large roofing companies don’t do smaller, “handyman” roof repairs. However, when I called about a piece of flashing that came off in the wind, Chip never hesitated to take the job. Quick, professional and courteous.

  Review 2 of 2 (original review is below regarding our previous house) - Once again, we were incredibly pleased with the work that Vanderhoof Roofing did for us. We contacted them pretty late this fall, and we were not sure whether they could get the job done before winter. They were able to squeeze us in. It was impressive watching how efficient they worked. Tom, the supervisor, kept us informed on everything they were doing. We had to make some decisions regarding vents, etc., and we were educated in plain language so that we could make an informed decision. Bill, the owner was also present at our site multiple times, and we had conversations with Chip, the president all along the way. They also left the property neater than when they started. When the job was done, they sent Andy over to our house to go over everything that they did and present us with a warranty on their work. It's hard to get excited about a roof, but we highly recommend them! These guys were fantastic. They laid out exactly how the work would be done ahead of time. Initially, they sent a professional out to our house to inspect our roof. He was up on our old roof for a while and really took the time to examine things. He found a yellow jackets nest in the roof and was able to refer us to an exterminator. He explained to us exactly what our roof situation was (our house is old and had four layers of shingles on it), and laid out a detailed estimate. Once we hired them, they were perfectly communicative with all the details-when they would start, the work schedule, etc. and they stuck to the schedule exactly. There was an early snow, and they worked around the weather so well, always keeping us in the loop when they would show up. They noticed we had little kids and made sure that they were not around when they were pulling the old shingles off. The guys were extremely polite and friendly. There were a couple things that came up with our old house and they would lay out different option
