Roof Warden

For roofing businesses

You did not ask to be listed here. This page explains why you are, what we will change, and what we won't.

Why you are listed

Roof Warden is a directory of roofing contractors compiled from public Google business listings. If your business has a public Google listing and works in roofing, it is probably here. We did not contact you first, and there is nothing to sign up for.

Claim your listing

Claiming connects your page to you. You confirm your email, show us you’re part of the business — a screenshot of your Google Business Profile dashboard is ideal — and a person reviews it. Approved listings are marked as claimed by the business, and your address becomes the one we use for corrections. It is free, and it does not change your ratings or your position in any list — nothing does. Start from your listing’s page, or here.

Editing your own page

Once a claim is approved you get a listing account, and the approval email carries the password — check your spam folder if you cannot find it. Signed in, you can correct your phone number, website, street address and opening hours, and add a description in your own words, the services you offer, the areas you cover and up to eight photos of your own work. What you write appears under a heading that says it came from you and that we have not checked it. Changes reach the page at the next site update, usually within a day.

What the account deliberately cannot touch: your star rating, your review count, the star-by-star breakdown, which reviews are shown, or where you appear in any list. Those are Google’s figures, published in full for claimed and unclaimed listings alike. A directory whose numbers moved when a business signed in would be worth nothing to the homeowner reading it, and that homeowner is the reason anyone finds your page at all.

What your profile shows

Your Google star average, the full breakdown of your ratings, the share of them that are one or two stars, a sample of your reviews with your replies, the topics Google extracts from your reviews, and your contact details. If your website makes claims like “licensed and insured”, those appear as quotations attributed to your own site — not as verified credentials. Our full method is here.

What we will change, free

  • A wrong phone number, address, website or trading name.
  • A profile that has been confused with another business.
  • A business that has closed, or that never did roofing work.
  • A duplicate profile for the same business.
  • Removal of your business from the directory entirely, if you want that.

All of it is free, none of it requires an account, and none of it is conditional on anything. Email team@roofwarden.com from an address connected to the business and tell us what is wrong. We aim to reply within a few working days.

What we will not change

We will not remove or reorder accurate reviews, and we will not hide your one-and-two-star share because it is unflattering. Those figures are Google’s, they are public, and presenting them fully is the reason this site exists. There is no payment that changes them, and offering one will not work.

If a specific review is fake or defamatory, the place to have it removed is Google, because Google hosts it and we mirror what is published there. Once it is gone from your Google listing it will drop off your profile here at the next refresh. If you need that to happen sooner, tell us and we will do it by hand.

The most useful thing you can do

Reply to your critical reviews. We show your replies directly beneath the complaints, and a measured reply that explains what happened does more for a reader deciding whether to call you than any number on the page. More than half of the one and two-star reviews we hold already have one, and the ones that do read very differently from the ones that don’t.
