  I am very disappointed with my experience with Toiture de la Capitale. The initial quote was very low, but once the work began and the shingles were removed, I was informed that the cost would be more than double the quoted amount. At that point, it seemed very difficult to refuse the work or back out. I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, but I expected more thoroughness in preparing the initial quote. I would have found it much more transparent to have included different scenarios in the quote, especially considering the age of the house. That said, I want to emphasize that the work itself was well done. My dissatisfaction mainly concerns how the price was determined and the way the situation was handled. This experience has nonetheless affected my confidence in the company, and I would not recommend them.

  After pestering them with 5+ emails over two months following a site visit they finally took pity on me and sent the quote. It was so high as to be nearly illegal! Clearly they made up a crazy number ($54,000 for a little roof paint and a couple new downspouts) so I went away and didn't want to use them. Money-grubbing, greedy and unresponsive. Stay away. Other reviews also reflect billing and charging issues which was my experience in my limited interaction (due to their non-responsiveness). Truly wanted to use them, they didn't care.

  The estimator came to my house last March. We talked for 45 minutes. He didn't take any measurements or notes. He told me he would send me his quote the following week. A month later, I still hadn't received anything. I contacted him again. He said he would send it soon. Weeks went by. Still nothing.

  Worst contractor in town, I signed a contract in February and they never followed up. No return calls, no reply to emails, and no response to a formal notice. We'll see each other in court. I hope you're smarter there.

  He mentions that the quotes are free but tries to charge you $150 claiming to have done an inspection afterwards because I decided to do business with another company. Afterwards, I tried to contact them to understand and they transfer me and don't return messages.

  Service: A+. Fast and efficient. Problem resolution: A+. They discovered an ant nest, solved the problem, and resolved it the same day. Transparent billing. Friendly service: Top-notch. Sauf qu'à ce stade, les dommages sont souvent bien plus étendus qu'ils en ont l'air — infiltration dans l'isolant, moisissures dans les murs, structure affectée. Ce qui aurait coûté une réparation simple devient un chantier beaucoup plus costaud. La bonne nouvelle ? Une inspection de toiture au printemps, c'est rapide, c'est souvent peu coûteux, et ça vous donne une image claire de l'état réel de votre toiture avant que les petits problèmes deviennent de gros maux de tête. On vérifie les bardeaux soulevés ou fissurés, l'état des solins, la ventilation, les membranes — tout ce que l'œil non averti ne voit pas facilement depuis le sol.
