  Very bad experience. I do not recommend this company. They are extremely difficult to reach: calls often go unanswered and messages are not returned. Communication delays are very long. We were also given a specific day for the work to be done, then the team showed up on another date without us being properly notified. The most disappointing aspect, however, was the initial lack of communication. We explained the work we wanted done, but we ended up signing a quote that didn't really correspond to what we thought we had requested. Part of the work was therefore carried out even though it wasn't our priority. When we tried to clarify the situation afterward, the company didn't truly acknowledge its share of responsibility for the misunderstanding, and no satisfactory solution or compromise was offered. We will pay for the work done since we signed the quote, but we will not do business with this company again. One star. Very dissatisfied with the customer service, communication, and handling of our case.

  Zero stars if I could. My neighbour in NDG hired this roofing company to redo the roof on their duplex, and what a disaster they left behind for the entire street. The actual roofing might look okay from the sidewalk, but the moment they packed up and left, it was obvious they have zero professionalism and zero respect for the neighbourhood. They abandoned **huge chunks and pieces of foam board insulation** all over the place — scattered across the yard, the driveway, the sidewalk, and even blowing into the street and neighbouring properties. Not a few scraps — big rigid sheets broken into sharp, ugly fragments that were left behind like they didn’t give a damn. These pieces are everywhere: wedged under cars, in gardens, on rooftops of sheds, and littering the alley. Every time the wind picks up (which is constantly in Montreal), more foam debris flies around NDG like ugly white confetti. This isn’t a small oversight. This is pure laziness. A proper roofing crew working on duplexes in Montreal cleans up their mess — they use tarps, proper disposal, and actually vacuum or magnet the site before they leave. These guys just tore off the old roof, slapped on whatever they were installing, collected the cheque, and disappeared. No cleanup, no follow-up. When my neighbour finally got someone on the phone, the response was a shrug and a vague “we’ll send someone when we can.” Days later — still nothing. Typical. Cheap bid? Sure. But now the whole block is dealing with their trash, potential damage to cars and lawns, and the eyesore right in the heart of NDG. If you live in Montreal and you’re thinking of hiring them because they quoted low, don’t. You’ll end up paying for it in time, frustration, and cleanup. Steer clear. Hire a real local roofer who actually finishes the job on a duplex — including hauling away every last piece of foam board. This crew is the reason people dread contractors in Quebec. Never again.

  Not very happy with duro toit. My daughter and others used them and were happy..They were here a full week for a split level, they had created cracks over 2 windows and a big Crack in the master. Had them here finally after sending them a couple of emails with pictures, the a worker came by, to look at the damage, he said he would get back to us with an answer. The cracks are their fault, they fixed one at the time of installation, and it is cracked again, not only the crack goes over one half of the ceiling. If you are considering this company, please get references from strangers also to see if they are happy. We paid much more money than quoted.

As you understand, when roofing work is done in winter or early spring, it may take longer than usual due to temperatures and external conditions. That being said, we did take responsibility when we carried out the work on your roof in April 2025 for the cracks that appeared on your ceiling. It is important to understand that you had two layers of roofing, which means that when we removed one layer, it reduced the load on your building’s structure and could indeed cause some movement. All repairs were covered by us at no additional cost. Your project ended up costing more than initially planned because the wood under your shingles was old, damaged, and did not meet the manufacturer’s standards. As a result, the manufacturer would not have honored their material warranty. We explained everything to you during the work, and you agreed to the additional work. Now, one year later, cracks have appeared. I understand that you are attributing this to our company. We responded to you promptly and came to see you quickly. There are, of course, timeframes of approximately +/- 5 days to carry out work, but your case has been taken on and is being handled promptly.   I don't know you, but I certainly wouldn't do business with you. The attitude of your driver, who waited for his coffee while blocking the road, and who got out of his truck extremely aggressively, making homophobic remarks when I asked him why he couldn't drive to the building without blocking the road, is absolutely unacceptable.

  Benoit Way from Durot Toit came to our home on October 28, 2025, to begin estimating our project: repairing a small roof on an extension to our apartment, approximately 16 x 12 feet. During the visit, I explained that the roof was already insulated on the inside and that we simply wanted to replace the membrane and perhaps remove some of the plywood that might be damaged. Benoit insisted that there was only one way to proceed and that an elastomeric membrane had to be installed. That evening, after consulting several articles online, many of which came from the Durot Toit website, I emailed him to ask if he could also send us a quote for the project using a TPO membrane. His response was: “Sorry, TPO and EPDM are the least expensive membranes due to their effectiveness.” "I'm simply going to wish you good luck and cancel your request." When I tried to understand the meaning of this response, he asked me to call him. On the phone, he gave me a series of very strange reasons why I shouldn't install TPO (they aren't suitable for the Quebec climate, they break easily). Finally, when he ran out of arguments (Duro Toit recommends installing this membrane on its website), he told me that they didn't install this membrane, they only repaired it. At this point, I felt that this person was lying to me and I asked him to cancel my quote request. I advise you against wasting your time calling this company. Our experience was very poor in terms of customer service.

  I absolutely do not recommend them! Sloppy work, nonexistent after-sales service (the leak is still there and no one bothers to answer my emails!), bogus excuse! Initially, there was a water leak in the house. No one ever came inside to assess the damage or even went up on the roof! It was done by drone. After paying a hefty sum for the repair, the water leak is still there. First call back: excuse: it's because of ice, the roof needs to be cleared of snow… The house dates back to 1940 and the winters were much harsher… anyway, I let them have their say. But in the middle of summer, with all the rain we had: leak again. In short, it's raining inside my walls and no one is answering my messages! Next step: formal notice and all that follows!!!

  Our roof is under warranty. My partner called them about a small water leak. They came, didn't fix anything, and sent us a hefty $1000 bill. They used the neighbor's roof as a reason to avoid honoring the warranty. They wouldn't even put in a temporary patch while we sorted things out with the neighbors! I'm $1000 poorer, and my roof is still leaking! We've contacted consumer protection and are waiting for their instructions. This is a dishonest practice, and we've read the negative reviews. Another person had the same thing done to them, and 12 people liked their post, so we're not the first to be taken in!

  The work was carried out very well, on the scheduled date, the only thing is that an additional amount is charged for the removal of the edge shingles which are more stuck because of the self-adhesive membrane but that's because all roofs are like that it should be included in their quote so there are no surprises.
