Was recommended by my brother. First time I should NOT have listened to him!!! Cody Gibson was terrific throughout the entire project, easy to work with and very Honest young man. The problem is Cody’s authority was limited. However, before this Co. claims I was not a customer, I was!! Let’s see - Roofing Crew: Drinking on the job - Destroyed my Gutters - Destroyed a $20,000.00 Pergola - Destroyed Spider Mister System - Gutter Helmets taken from my property although Steele Roofing was instructed to leave them here (never seen again). Water Leak that Steele Roofing claimed they didn’t have to repair since they had not been paid in full although the job was far from complete. Numerous follow-ups Required due to the lack of attention to details. Most if not All follow-ups could have been avoided had a daily inspection been performed. This job was sold to Steele Roofing in February 2020 and it is now October 2020 and Gutters, Gutter Helmets and Pergola remain unfinished. Very disappointed. Would NOT RECOMMEND. Jim Morgan Mineola, Texas Update: We recently had to replace the entire A/C unit in our attic. Upon the replacement process the LICENSED and HIGHLY Qualified HVAC technician commented on the excessive temperature in our attic. He went on to suggest exhaust turbines or better yet RIDGE VENTS.I explained that our roof was replaced recently by Steele Roofing and they did install Ridge Vents. He pointed out that ridge vent outside portions were in fact installed, thus giving the appearance of “installed ridge vents”. Upon further examination the only opening in my roof was about the width of a circular saw blade. Yes it’s been a couple years since Steele Roofing worked out here but it’s never too late to recognize the unacceptable results of this company. We were in the process of replacing all vinyl siding at the time of this roof job and since Ridge Vents were SUPPOSED to be installed we removed the gable vents. Now we are having to take alternative measures t

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, however certain details of your review are a bit skewed. The purpose of a review is to review a business, not to leave out key details of the review. So we will take the time now to fulfill the lack of details allowing the review to have its full potential. We did a roof for both your brother and sister and of which were both pleased. The drinking accusation: we were not aware of this nor did Cody see them drinking, the box that was seen could of came out of their trash trailer or such but we have no physical evidence of such. We also no longer use the crew since mishaps happened on your project. Gutters: The gutters were not damaged upon initial detach, the gutters had been moved from their original resting point and could of been dented at that point but after speaking to our gutter crew they were not aware of damaging the gutters. We did however reach an agreement with you to pay for gutters and allow you to hire your own gutter people to complete that trade. The gutter helmets also were paid back to you by agreement since you wanted to keep the helmets that we were paid by your insurance to remove and take. We were not told you wanted to keep the helmets until after they were gone since you didnt know when our gutter team was coming. We tried to get them back but was unsuccessful which is why we paid you for them. Spider mister - this item was by far not destroyed, it was installed behind the fascia and had to be removed to complete other work. There was a few pieces broken that could easily be replaced on an old system, again of which was replaced by the company whom installed them. Pergola - the pergola was not destroyed either, a small section of it collapsed and could of been repaired, however some of the peices are no longer made to the same size or spec so we decided to pay for the entire pergola to make it right when we could of only paid for the repair. Water leak - As soon as you called Cody ab

Poor communication and pricing!
Reply from the business
Now that you edited or updated your review, this should still not be a 1 star since we didn’t do anything wrong, we did the exact scope of work that YOU agreed too and price along with free material and labor on the turbine replacement. Pricing was not 1 star since you agreed to it and what was bad about the communication? We do have proof off all communications showing otherwise. So once again, Ill give you a chance to remove this false review or we will take other measures.

Called them twice within two weeks to get someone to come a take a look at the damage on my roof and never received a call back. Ended up call Dickson Roofing and they had someone out the same day.

We looked into our system and it appears the file was marked closed and noted that we were unable to reach you back to set up something. We hate that you had a bad experience based on bad communications on both ends based on this information. We don’t really agree on the review since we were also unable to make contact with you as well.

After putting down a $20,000 deposit to replace our roof at our child care center in East Texas, we waited months with no updates on the start. Once the project started and was completed, we asked to see a copy of the warranty before final payment. The owner refused vehemently to send the basic language of the warranty before final payment was made. He had no problem keeping our deposit for months, but couldn’t extend the smallest amount of professional courtesy to us.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! However, reviews are only beneficial to other viewers if the review is 100% truthful and accurate, which is not the case in this situation. You have failed to mention other key details but I will fill in the blanks for you so other readers can see the full story. This was a large metal job that required a special coil of metal be ordered. Due to Covid and crazy shipping delays we were at the mercy of the shipper and it was out of our control which we did communicate. We also even came out to the property to patch the leaking area while we waited for materials to arrive. It’s not that we refused to issue the basic language of the warranty, the full warranty was requested before payment would be released. We had a contract in place for the job which yields its own languages for payments and warranty. The agreements state that the signing party agrees to the terms, which was to pay immediately upon completion of said trades. Which took a month by the way to receive and only after we demanded payment. This became a breach of contract and since we had no idea when payment would arrive so we respectfully declined to issue warranty until payment was received, which is a term of the agreement. With that being said, the very second we were in receipt of final payment we issued both warranties that were promised. We also even performed some work on a shed which was not on the scope of repair but yet it was a kind favor we did out of the kindness of our hearts.

There's a roofer named John. And he harassed us and didn't leave after we've asked several times for him to leave the property. He told us we have damage to our roof. And he caused damage on purpose. And now the Insurance won't cover our roof anymore until fixed from our own pockets. STAY AWAY FROM STEELE ROOFING!!

As much as we would hate to see a negative review on our listing, there are a few issues with this that we cant seem to grasp. This name is not in our job database which any and all people are. John doesnt go out and run leads, therefore making this review seem un-realistic. Steele Roofing does not cause damage on roofs we inspect nor do we harrass customers. With nothing adding up about this review we feel that it is a false (fake) review as this is not a name of anyone we have delt with.

Great roofing company! Very knowledgeable with a “can do” attitude. Always on time. Handled insurance company with any questions or issues. They changed out the roof. Took care of gutters. Also handled our patio awning that had hail damage. Most importantly they are honest folks to deal with.

I reached out to Steele Roofing for a minor repair after some shingles delaminated and blew off. Knowing they are one of the top RCAT-licensed companies in the Tyler area, I expected good service, but I was blown away when they came out the exact same day I called! Carter arrived promptly, was incredibly helpful, and completed the repairs quickly. He even performed a thorough, full-roof inspection while onsite. I will absolutely use them for any future roofing needs and highly recommend them to my friends and neighbors.
