  4/17/26 @ 3:50 PM on Bottineau Blvd going south towards the 100 exit in Crystal. A Shelter construction company vehicle driving excessively fast cuts me off to get into the turn lane with no turn signal used. This vehicle then leaves the turn lane, speeds up and cuts off the person now in front of them to get back into the turn lane, again with no turn signal used.

  While trying to drive my two boys home, a worker for this company decided they were better then everyone else and took the shoulder. I went to get in the turn lane and was welcomed by his big truck zooming past me. Thanks for driving your company truck so I know who not to use ever!

  An (what we would suspect, because he was driving a company truck) employee, just tried to enter our home on a Sunday night at 11:15pm. When we started to shut the door on him he proceeded to shout and swear through the door until we said we were calling the police. He then turned off his lights and peeled out of the neighborhood. We have never done, and would never do business with the company.

  I want to put this out there for anyone considering a contractor for Steel Roofing for their home. My boyfriend, Curt and I hired Shelter Construction LLC, based in Brooklyn Park, MN (but work in many areas of the U.S.), after they approached us not long after a hail storm last summer. Yes, a storm chaser, but with a good reputation (at least for Asphalt Roofing). Signed a contract on 10/09/2018, construction began in April and we are still to this day, 09/09/2019, waiting for a beautiful roof. We have had nothing but problems with this company, which has led Curt to file with the Better Business Bureau, Angie's List and the MN State Attorney General's Office. We're hoping that with these three, we can get some results. This is all public information, go into any one of these sites for all of the details. Search for Shelter Construction LLC. Basically, they hired a subcontractor that had no experience with the type of material ordered. They installed it incorrectly, it had to be torn off and then a complete tear off done on the roof. New material was ordered, and with instruction from CertainTeed, was started up once again. The subcontractor guessed on how to finish the trim (some pieces hang lower then others and the backside is open with nails not attached to anything), left one corner of the house unfinished and also left multiple dents because they weren't careful on where they stepped. Shelter's response has been very frustrating. We were told by the project superintendent that the only reason we notice it now is because it's brand new, after awhile we won't notice it anymore. !!! That's not the attitude that a contractor should have about it's services and product. The last thing we were told is that they were ordering a dent puller and would see if that will work. We told them to try it, but any dents are unacceptable! After two weeks I finally emailed the Project Superintendent to find out when we could expect them to come out, he said he would schedule afte

  We had the opportunity to sit down with Nancy and Curt on Thursday, 9/12, to discuss their issues and concerns, and put together a plan for a full roof replacement. We will be proceeding with scheduling for a fall 2019 date, and it is my hope they'll be happy with the results. We stand behind our work, and in the very rare event that we make an error that requires a radical solution, we stand behind our customers. as well.

  I met Justin Wray at a stop light and asked him if they did personal home roofing and he said yes. I got the number off of his work truck and called him to see if I could get an estimate. He was very polite and efficient!! I saw him on a Friday and had my estimate by Tuesday!!

  We had damage from a hail storm. We had two companies out one wasn't sure but Shelter construction Felt it was warranted to get a new roof and was able to get the insurance company to cover the roof fully . It has now been a few years. We've had no problems with the roof and it still looks great. Thank you

  Shelter was great to work with. My sales person Jasper was incredibly helpful and walked us through the multitude of options we had for our job. And when we needed some add-on work at the end, they came through for us in a big way. I'd recommend them without hesitation.
