I had an unpleasant experience with one of the drivers from your company. The driver was extremely aggressive and rude. He got out of the truck and stared us down, apparently upset that we were parked too close to his vehicle. To make matters worse, he opened the passenger door and struck our side mirror. I sincerely hope this behavior does not reflect the standards of your company, and I’d be very concerned if this was the owner behaving in such a manner.
Reply from the business
Hello, we apologize but you took the situation from an incorrect perspective. I was the driver of the truck. I pulled into the spot normally so not sure when the aggressive and rude happened. We didn’t speak and I didn’t look at you in any way. I was not even paying attention to people in the car. I was in a hurry to get into gym so I was moving quickly if that’s what was aggressive but I was not rude to anyone. However when opening my passenger door to grab my water bottle, my door did barely touch a mirror on car next to me and I immediately noticed and pulled door away while looking and there was no damage. I apologize for touching your mirror with my door. I do not see how leaving a 1 star review for a services company is applicable in a private manor like this because there was no direct interaction or service rendered. Please remove this unfair review and if you would like to speak to me directly please call anytime and ask for Mike. Again I apologize for touching your mirror but everything else you stated was purely perspective from your end and not the truth.

Working with Second to None was not just disappointing—it was infuriating. What should have been a straightforward storm restoration job turned into a drawn-out circus of incompetence, deception, and pure avoidance of responsibility. And at the center of it all? The owner, Mike—a man who clearly isn't to be trusted with someone's home. Let me be crystal clear: the problems with this company stem directly from Mike’s lack of accountability, leadership, and professionalism. After our home was hit by a devastating hailstorm, we hired Second to None based on promises that were either outright lies or meaningless sales fluff. Mike promised “top-quality workmanship” and “an all-American crew.” What we got was rushed, sloppy labor done by crews who couldn't communicate with us (despite the patriotic sales pitch), zero scheduling transparency, and damage to our property before the job even started. Here’s a rundown of how Mike personally failed at every turn: He let crews show up unannounced—sometimes before 6AM—without so much as a text or call. Our gate was forcibly opened and damaged on day one. Mike? Nowhere. He allowed major errors to go unchecked, including forgetting to order and install J-channel for the siding. Instead of taking responsibility he blames a coworker for forgetting. When we confronted him with glaring installation mistakes, such as crooked siding and misaligned fixtures, he tried to gaslight us—saying our home was just “built that way.” Once again, we had to prove otherwise with our own photos. That’s when he reluctantly agreed to fix it—but never once admitted fault. He argued constantly instead of leading. Any time we brought up an issue, he fought back with excuses instead of owning his mistakes like a professional. Leadership means solving problems, not blaming others and hoping the customer backs down. He placed a lien on our home before the work was even complete. Per our contract, we paid half upfront and were to pay the rest when the job

Why would you leave a review like this 8 months after doing work on your home then use someone else’s account? Lauren Wyon! There is so much untruth to this review. There were mistakes made and all were addressed and fixed. I didn’t blame others, I told the truth that production made a mistake and then fixed the issues. That’s taking ownership. Your voicemail was always full and you never answered then blamed us for lack of communication. I have all the call logs, texts and notes in file showing the multiple attempts to reach you. Your boyfriend stormed into my office threatening one of my employees because you told him a lie that we had called you a liar. Obviously there aren’t any other reviews or other homeowners who agree with you. Exactly the opposite in fact. There was never property damage or even a mention of it. Defamation of character 8 months after job is completed makes no sense. We wish you the best of luck in the future and will continue to serve the community while getting true raving reviews to counter this bogus one.

Appointments were missed without a phone call. I requested an itemized bill because I feel I was grossly over charged but, I never got the itemized bill. I was given a bill that didn't list what I actually got charged for. I don't like their business practice.
Reply from the business
Hi Geraldine. Thank You for taking the time to let us know about your experience in working with us. We apologize regarding any missed appointments. After all, human nature is imperfect and mistakes are bound to happen. As for the itemized bill you are requesting, your Scope of Loss from the insurance company is a sufficient document that breaks down everything line by line. We would be more than happy to provide that to you once again from our files in case you have misplaced it. Furthermore, you signed a contract that we both mutually agreed upon as a sign of good faith. We would be happy to supply that once again. If you have any further concerns, feel free to call us or even stop by our new office so we can resolve any additional issues. Thank You once again for allowing us to serve you!

Never answered....left a message on website that I needed a roof estimate and or repair or new roof...
Reply from the business
Hello Darryl it’s unfortunate that you would ruin someone’s perfect 5 star rating without actually calling the companies phone number to reach us. I looked and do not see any message from you ever on the website so if there was an error it was with the site itself. I am a small family owned company and the only one who answers the phone personally. If you would have called then I would have gotten your request for service. 1 star reviews are for companies that have done something really bad towards a customer. Hopefully you can remove this knowing it is not a fair review of our actual services as a roofing company.

In a world where it is very hard to find honesty and quality, I got both from Second to None. Ethan walked me through the roof inspection and explained the process. The company bid the job, did a beautiful job, cleaned up after the job, and left us with a great new roof and no mess at the price I expected. The leader on my project came back to the house to inspect and make sure the site was perfect and that I was satisfied. Highly Recommend!

Jim, thank you so much for this incredible review! We’re thrilled Ethan gave you a clear, honest walkthrough of the roof inspection process , that kind of transparency is exactly what we build our team around. It also means a lot that our project leader came back out to double check everything was perfect before calling it done; that final quality check is a non-negotiable step for us on every roof replacement. Welcome to the Second to None family, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you ever need anything down the road!

Mike is easy to work with and his team works quick! I’m happy I went with second to none. I reached out to a few other companies and they were much slower with the process. Mike was helpful throughout the process as this was my first insurance claim for my roof.

Hilary, thank you for the kind words! Mike and the team take pride in moving quickly and keeping things simple, especially for first-time insurance claims, it can feel overwhelming, so we’re glad he was able to walk you through the process and get your roof installed without the delays you ran into with other companies. The work that was done was good (roof, gutters, some aluminum porch wrap). Timeliness- not so great(dragged on way too long). Communication - not good at all. Would go weeks without hearing anything. I had to call/text. My initial contact, John, was great - he was pretty good about trying to keep me in the loop, plus sometimes he would be here after the workers left, and he would be cleaning up after them. Good guy - very nice guy. They need guys like John. I spoke with Michael, the owner a few times - also a good guy. He did me square.

Thank you for the honest feedback, Stacy. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear you were happy with the quality of the roofing, gutter, and aluminum wrap work, and we also appreciate your kind words about John and our team. Mike and his team made our roof replacement a smooth process from start to finish. Mike explained the entire procedure and he went over any options we wanted; we went with level 3 shingles for more durability and a discount for our homeowners insurance. The entire install took less than a day, and everything was cleaned up before I got home from work.
