  I originally told Roof X I wouldn’t leave a review because I thought they were going to take care of the MANY issues they caused, but after their owner, Rene Diaz, failed to resolve our issues and threatened to sue us after so much of their wrongdoing, I decided it’s prudent to warn others about how this contractor does business. We hired Roof X late 2024 to replace our roof. They installed the wrong drip edge; a shingle with a significantly lesser warranty than what we contracted for; and then, as you can see in the photos, they left a hole in the roof which caused drywall and insulation damage, which they failed to repair after several no-shows. Roof X did return to patch the hole in the roof, but now I have a patch on my brand new roof! We then gave them so many chances to fix the drywall issue, but instead they threatened to sue us for nonpayment. Their owner Rene handled the situation with anger, aggression, arrogance and emotional distress. Seriously… He actually made it a point to tell me that “he had the money” to sue me thinking it would intimidate us. Unfortunately, I had to get a lawyer involved and it wasn’t until I threatened to countersue Roof X for all of their faulty work that the Owner actually backed down and accepted a settlement agreement. Truly one of the worst business owners and contractors I have dealt with. Roofing contractors are a dime a dozen out there. Find one who will stand by the quality of their work and avoid Roof X.

  1. The wrong color drip edge was installed and then it was quickly resolved. 2. You knew that your shingle color was not in stock and were told exactly what brand and what product would be used as an alternate which actually costs MORE MONEY than the one you were originally sold. Nobody lied to you and you had the option to wait but chose to move forward instead. 3. You canceled the drywall repair person because you wanted to go on vacation instead and then it was never rescheduled. It is as much your fault as it is anyones period! Funny how none of this became an issue until you were asked to pay your 6 month old outstanding $6k plus bill!!! Isnt it funny how that actually works!? 4. Yes I in fact will sue you for lying continually and now placing it in writing. Nobody ever tried to not pay for your drywall repair! I spend a million dollars a month to suggest that we were somehow avoiding your minuscule $1500 drywall repair is moronic. We also reimbursed you 2.5 times what our bid was for that!!! 5. Additionally you were also reimbursed $1000 at our goodwill for the different shingle brand even though you agreed to it and were notified prior to us ever moving forward with it! Owens Corning Duration is a high end brand that actually cost us more than what you were sold! You act as if we installed IKO on your roof! 6. Get yourself a lawyer so we can discuss all of your false allegations here and how you intend to pay for them. Tired of your bullshit.

  The roof is nice but what I didn't like was I talked and went over everything with the salesman what I wanted and didn't negotiate the price and paid what was given. I told him several times I want my flat roof pitched and make sure and he assured me and showed me a diagram how it would be and said yes. When they put roof on, I went outside the second day they were at my house and working on the flat roof and had everything else done and asked the guy in charge of the workers and told me he had no order to pitch my flat roof, and it wasn't getting done. He told me to call the guy in charge of the project he just takes orders. I called and the guy was making excuses and then he had to order everything to have it done so the workers couldn't do anymore till the supplies came in to do the roof, so it took longer and if I hadn't said anything, it would have never been done. I don't like to be told something, and I have to check to make sure it gets done that is wrong and bad business. I had some other people that wanted a roof, but I can't recommend knowing what happened to me and it happening to someone else.

  Mam this review is factually incorrect. You spoke to a laborer on our roofing crew not a supervisor. Your roof was sloped to a 3:12 pitch with tapered insulation and you weren’t even charged for it!!! The sales rep didn’t even include it in the cost of your bid. That was easily a $3k price change we swallowed on our end and you felt the need to leave a negative review? Essentially your entire review is incorrect because the very thing your complaining about was not only done you were not charged a dime for it luckily because had I known you’d have been charged or we wouldn’t have touched it. Then you have the audacity to leave a negative review? Consider yourself lucky.

  This company is the worst they take insurance money and don’t finish job , they don’t communicate or return phone calls don’t use them. My insurance company paid them for work they didn’t complete nor did they send the money to have the work completed. Con artist at its best

  Your roof has been finished since September 8, 2022. This is Hillsborough county public record and it’s been sent to you. Additionally you never paid your deductible and still have a balance owed with us technically of over $800. We do not owe you a penny this was an insurance claim and you never paid a deductible we also paid the public adjuster on your behalf out of final payment from insurance carrier. You have never one time called my office so I don’t know who your calling and my reps who have reached out and spoken to you said you were intoxicated and wouldn’t hear anything they had to say on the matter. That being said we are willing to absolve you of your balance in good faith but if you keep this false review up we will lien the home and send you to collections instead.

  The actual roof replacement was acceptable; however, they re-hung gutters poorly, ruined a yard umbrella, left tar everywhere, and did an extremely poor job cleaning up debris afterwards. I was most disappointed.

  Mr Smith I’d be happy to handle replacing any yard umbrella or sending people back out to correct anything you’re not happy with. Unfortunately this is the first I’m hearing about your umbrella or tar being left on anything. The gutter in the front is sloped to the downspout for drainage and could maybe be adjusted a little bit but can’t be hung straight across or water will sit in your gutters and weigh them down. I’m sorry you were not completely satisfied.

  Called them out to repair a roof leak on my roof. Anthony came out and patched an area that our previous owner had tried sealing/fixing (assuming this was the problem). A week later it began leaking again in the same exact spot. I called back and Anthony came out again and pulled 10 shingles and sealed nails he found that were rusty. He then told me yeah there were rusty nails. I asked what does that mean? He said, there’s rusty nails. I again asked is that meaning something larger? Never got a clear answer. But he assured me that the leak was now fixed. Fast forward a few weeks and it is leaking at the same spot again. Again I called and spoke with the owner this time. He said ok, sometimes they can be tricky but he would send Anthony back out and may join him to help. Never heard from him nor did they show. Again it leaks a few weeks later, again I call the owner. Same story, yeah they can be tricky. Said he would send Anthony out the next day. Guess what, no show. No call, nothing. I would steer clear of this company. Horrible communication and poor customer service. Maybe they do great work, but I can’t vouch for that either since my roof still leaks in the same spot.

  I had Roof X do my mom’s roof in Lake Wales, Florida. We had a fantastic experience with them. My mom is 80 years old and couldn’t stop talking about what an amazing job they did. Her words “tickled pink”. They were always punctual, communicated with her, had everything cleaned up daily and just did an amazing job!!! All her neighbors tell her how great her roof looks!! Couldn’t recommend a better company that is more honest and care about their customers!!
