  These clowns want to act like they know everything about flat roofs when they are slate roof specialist and don't know what the hell they're talking about came to my house and told me that my roof was fine when it needed to be replaced will never call them back

  Ray Poellot, sales manager, never used gimmicks or trickery (as did a few other companies) to convince me to purchase from Roland Slate. He also offered alternative products of similar quality that were cheaper compared to other companies. I am very happy with the new roof and aluminum wrap (to cover wood trim) on my 80 year old original slate roof home that never had a full roof replacement. Work performed was high quality. Follow-up: The review above was based on work performed on my house in Baltimore, and I still give that experience a 5-star rating. However, the estimate I received (by a different person) for a complete roof replacement at my house in Bowie was over twice the estimates received from 3 other licensed contractors. In addition, I have not received a returned phone call or e-mail made several weeks ago. I was really hoping to do business again with Roland Slate, but I will be getting the work done by another contractor.

I'm truly sorry that your more recent experience was not as pleasant as the last. Good communication and customer service is something we pride ourselves in. As for the price difference between our contract and the other contractors, I wouldn't be able to speak on that without having a full understanding of the situation. I imagine by now it may be too late and you moved forward with another contractor, but if not and you would like to discuss, our general manager would be happy to have a conversation with you and get things moving in a positive direction.   Roland Slate was amazing from start to finish. The team worked with me to resolve all the issues with the roof and provided me with all the extra paperwork that I needed. This is my second home I’ve used them for. Everyone was a pleasure to work with. I’ll definitely be back anytime I need work done on my roof!

  Roland Slate Service Co. did a great job on my roof repair. The team is very responsive. The owner John was especially kind, helpful, and professional. He knows roof repair and technically fantastic. We are very satisfied with the roof repair they did.

  We got several estimates about fixing a perennial leak in the upper part of our slate roof that is not even visible from the ground. In their free estimate, Roland Slate gave the most comprehensive report that provided detailed pictures of the roof and its many issues. Their quote was a bit cheaper than another company's and it's clarity instilled confidence it would be done satisfactorily. We had them do the work and although it was a complete replacement it was done in a timely manner and all debris cleaned up.

  I had a great experience with Roland Slate. They came out quickly to look at the project, and expedited its installation, and bumped up the schedule to do the job following an unexpected leak from my roof.
