Reached out to repair a roof leak of unknown origin. Company was responsive and rep came out as scheduled. He told us there was no way to find the leak without tearing off the whole roof, so we declined. Contacted another company who did a very thorough inspection, found and repaired the issue for $400, and the roof hasn’t leaked since.

    Reply from the business

We appreciate your feedback and are sorry that we seemed to have fallen short of your expectations. We perform hundreds of minor roof repairs each year when we are certain the repair will fix the issue. In your situation, we proposed to replace a small section of roofing to ensure the permanent resolution of the leak, which comes with a full warranty from our company. Unfortunately, you are comparing proposals that are not apples to apples as the $400 repair you received is more than likely a quick temporary fix that will not hold or stand the test of time. We do thank you for calling us and wish you luck with the sale of your home. Regards, Phil DiBello Family Roofing

The worst. They tried to use 1/2” chip board instead of 5/8 plywood as contracted. In 1 place they tried to use no plywood at all. When asked why they did that the foreman said their boss told them not to put “any plywood” there. Just the roll roofing. They put the end flashing on in reverse order. When I had Phil DiBello himself look at it he told me it was fine. He said “The roof is tight”. I am thinking of this today as we are expecting big rain and I am putting down to towels in center of inside house to collect the leak drops. THE WORST. Also the salesman tried to get me to pay them the balance before the job was done. This is what we got for $18,000. The name of the foreman “Chip” who was just doing what he was told and the salesman named either “Larry” or “Steve” who told him not to put “any plywood” in that area of the roof.

Hard working crew. Skylights were installed crooked. Owner of the company very unpleasant to deal with . Read every word of your contact and get any changes in writing.

    Reply from the business

We appreciate the feedback even though this job was completed almost 5 years ago. As we do with all of our jobs involving skylight replacement, it was explained very clearly to the customer before, during, and after the job multiple times that due to imperfections/uneveness in the customers’ ceiling/sheetrock, the newly installed skylights may appear slightly uneven and need some minor trim to be installed around the openings to make it look more cosmetically appealing, which would be additional to the price. This is a relatively common occurrence when replacing certain skylights, especially when old models are replaced with newer models with slightly different sizing/fit to the existing sheetrock/opening. The customer agreed to have us install the trim when the job was done at a very fair cost, only to have him never pay us for this additional work performed to this day. Regardless of the above, we are very happy to have earned your business and thank you for choosing us for your roofing project.

Don’t use Phil Dibello roofing if you’re looking for honesty, communication, and an accurate quote. They did show up when expected, and the end result was ok. However, they added extra work with no prior approval even though I specifically asked to be notified of any extra, and was at the home the entire time. The foreman told me in person at my home that “The decking is all good, there are some small knot holes if you’d like us to repair them.” I told them no as I’m working with a strict budget. He assured me it was all good. The job was completed to my satisfaction, they cleaned up and left. I then receive the bill, and there are extra charges for wood. I told the office that I was assured there was no need to replace any wood. They replied by sending pictures of the tiny pieces of wood they replaced. It appears to me that the crew damaged the wood while doing the removal of the old shingles. The wood was not discolored, or holed, and you could see where the adjacent pieces were still quite new looking inside. I paid the additional, and told them I would express my displeasure in reviews. All I asked for was honesty, and that was too much apparently. Also, the office, salesman, and crews do not communicate. Whatever the office was told was never relayed to the salesman and crew, and vice versa. I would not recommend this company. UPDATE: 1 week after job completion, and Mike (One of the owners) from Phil Dibello roofing called me. He said he was sorry I was displeased. He asked me to change my review because “It says we’re dishonest, and that’s just not true.” Long story short, one of us is lying, and I know for certain it isn’t me. By “They’re dishonest” I mean the company as a whole. If your representative tells a lie while representing you, you too are guilty of lying. I cannot honestly say that Mike, or Phil Dibello themselves are dishonest, but their company is by virtue of their representative, dishonest. Not only did they not tell me

We appreciate the feedback. Unfortunately, the customer left many important details out of this very misleading review. My site foreman very clearly explained to the customer during the job that we were still in the process of tearing off the old shingles and that once we could properly assess the entire roof deck (70+ year old planking), we may need to replace at most, 20-30 ft of bad planking. The customer acknowledged this, and we continued working. My foreman also showed the customer the 6 new planking boards he was leaving with the crew in case any needed to be replaced. We wound up replacing $100 worth of split/bad planking, which is a total of 10 feet. Wood replacement is additional to the price as stated in the contract. We showed the customer before and after pictures of this wood as well. The replacement of this extremely small amount of wood was not optional as it is critical the foundation is solid to properly guarantee the roofing nails bite the wood and no shingle blow offs/issues occur in the future. This is the “additional work” the customer conveniently left out of his review. We were extremely forthcoming and honest with the customer as that is one of our core principles allowing us to be in business for 46 years. We are definitely confused by this very odd and unusual review as we could not have communicated any better to the customer as we do on all of our projects. Regardless of the above, we value his business as our customer and are very grateful he chose us for his roof replacement.

Actually I give them a no star rating. Their carelessness caused my house to catch on fire and we were living in motels and rental homes for a little over a year while my house was restored. The worst part is that my autistic grandson lost everything, over $7,000 Thomas train collection, all his skylanders, legos, everything. Those trains were his biggest comfort toy. This makes me angrier than anything else we lost. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I have serious doubts about other reviews even being real. I can't be the ONLY person who's had a bad experience with them. This review may not even be published for all I know. I will warn everyone away from them.

1st thing. The workers did an awesome job. I had my roof and sliding glass door done. They came out looked at my room gave me an estimate for all. I told them I needed plywood, I didn't know how much needed to be replaced. I mentioned i didn't like getting any extra fees at the end. After about 2 weeks they had my roof done. After about 1month. I had to call and ask about the sliding door. They said soon. Should be about a week. 2 weeks go by I called again and she said I must be able to read minds, they had just come in. Got the door done, again perfectly. After almost 2 month of my roof getting done I get a change order bill. Then I get a few email and phone calls about me paying it. I told him I needed to fined 1500$ I don't have that laying around....... .Update!!! Apparently I took over 30 days to pay the change order. But don't call me and ask me to remove this review. Mr Phil was his name. He told me to remove or leave it but that he would cancel the review. Well Mr Phil. Why call me and ask. Just cancel it. Great doing business with you.

Thank you for your feedback, Jose! We are very happy you are satisfied with the roof and door replacement from us. We have gotten several calls afterwards from your neighbors that need roof work as well! We are sorry their seemed to be a misunderstanding in how the roof replacement process goes. Tim, the salesman, fully explained when the estimate was given to you that your roof will have many sheets of bad plywood that will need to be replaced at an additional cost and that we will only know an exact amount when the old roof is torn off. Replacing rotted/damaged plywood on a per sheet basis is standard practice in the roofing industry and is stated in the second line of our contract. The wood replacement and extra charge for your job was not a surprise to either of us as you knew before we began that you will need plywood replacement. We informed you of the wood replacement total when the roof was finished. Because your job was financed via a finance company, the final bill is sent after all work is done. We also explained to you from the very start that the door will take 4-6 weeks to come in since it was a special order door. The door came in from the manufacturer in this exact time window. Once the entire project was completed, we tried contacting you for final payment for the wood replacement from the roof. After 1 month of many phone calls and emails to you, the bill was paid. As a 44 year business, we feel it is best to speak with any customer that has an issue/misunderstanding in attempts to resolve and explain it, hence our phone call to you after you posted this review. Regardless of all of the above, we are very happy you chose us for your roofing and door replacement project. Thank you!!

My husband set an appointment with Tatiana for an estimate on repairing leaks in our roof. The contractor called about 20 minutes before the appointment to say that he saw our home on google maps, can see we had a new roof put on recently, and said they don’t do repairs. Basically, he won’t be showing up. When asked to clarify, because we have four leaks and made the appointment for exactly that, he said unless we were ready to spend 18k on a new roof then they wouldn’t be working with us. All he could/would do is show up and take measurements to give a quote on a roof replacement. Weird considering they have repairs listed on their website as part of their expertise… We sent an email to Tatiana asking what the deal was because my husband made it clear the appointment was for repair and that this was really upsetting considering our small window to get this taken care of (baby due in less than two weeks). We even confirmed that there would be pictures taken of the damaged/trouble spots to send to our warranty company. She just apologized and sent another company name to call. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing considering how highly recommended this company came. Thankfully we were able to get fourtwelve roofing out the next morning when we called and explained our situation.

Thank you for your feedback, Cheyenne! As soon as we were able to review your appointment details from Tatiana, which was 48 hours after you emailed us about your roof appointment request, our estimator called you to get more details about your situation to make sure this was something we could help you with. You informed us that your house was recently rehabbed and a new roof was installed by another roofing company. You also told us that the roof has 4 different leaks, which you wanted us to simply repair. After being in business for 43 years, we have seen every leak in the book. Not all roof leaks are the same and some are much more involved and difficult than others to diagnose and fix. We explained to you that when a brand new roof has leakage in 4 different areas (which is very unusual for a new roof), this is typically the result of poor installation. We first recommended for you to call back the company who installed the roof since their should be a warranty on the workmanship, which means they should fix these leaks for you at no charge. If we start working on your roof, it will likely void any warranty you have. We are known to go out of our way to help our clients and lead them in the right direction. Attempting to repair a flat roof with 4 different leaks will most likely lead to the roof eventually leaking again or more leaks will develop in other areas. We have seen this hundreds of times over the years. In order for us to guarantee that the leaks are fixed and your roof will be sound for years to come with a solid warranty, especially with your baby on the way, we recommended a new roof that is installed correctly. We tried our best to help you out by being honest and straightforward, which is what our company was built on. Nonetheless, we wish you the best of luck in finding a solution to your roofing needs!

Called needed roof repair. Roof is 20yrs old very good shape just had inspected last year. First thing they asked was how old was your roof. Said we don’t repair roofs that old only will quote you a new roof! Give me a break

    Reply from the business

Thank you for your review! Unfortunately, the repair you requested and explained to us was something we, as a highly reputable roofing company, cannot perform and stand behind with confidence. One of the main reasons we have been in business for 42 years is due to our mentality of always having our customers’ best interest at heart. We do not want to see anyone throw money away on a repair that will most likely not work or hold up on a 20+ year old roof. However, we wish you the best of luck with your roof!

I can't recommend DiBello Roofing enough! After another company tried to sell me on a full roof replacement, Mike and the rest of his team came out and diagnosed the leaking roof to be a minor problem with a minor fix, but with major results! Since the repair, we have had multiple major storms that previously would have caused water to leak into my home. Since then, not a single issue. They are beyond fair, honest and trustworthy! I will continue to recommend DiBello roofing to all my friends, family and clients. 10/10 service!
