  Initial visit mid-June. Official quote not until signed July 16th. No call no show since. After seeing other reviews getting estimates and service, I wonder if they'll show or if I have to call someone else. To follow up to Mr. Powells reply. He took tons of photos that we went over on site. His quote that was sent lined up perfect with everything we wanted. Fix the ridge vent, add baffle vents, add 2 vents for the bathroom. If this is something special for a roofing company. Also, he was nice enough to reply and say his real reason for cancelling was leaving a review, after speaking with his office manager who confirmed they could do it tuesday-wednesday

  Mr. Schlindwein, I'm sorry we haven't gotten your job scheduled. I've needed to come back out and look at it AGAIN. After we first submitted our estimate you went and received several bids from other companies I assume. That process took quite some time. It took so long for you to come back and agree to my proposal I couldn't remember all the details on your job which is why I needed to return. Just to go over the job again and get a list of materials. Also this is a repair that is not normal with all the special things you were requesting. Sorry we couldn't help you on this project but we will have to pass at this time. Best of luck Thank you,

  Called Powell roofing Wednesday morning. Even with the hurricane going on they assured me that they would get over to Mount Pleasant to address an issue. Well here it is Friday and no call no show. I understand the hurricane and I even mentioned that to them and they said it’s not a problem they would be out first thing Thursday morning. I’ve tried calling them several times and they just don’t answer.

  We are so sorry we couldn't get out to you in a timely manner.The office would have been indated with phone calls and client request through the website. We did the best We could and got to as many people as possible again. Sorry. We have since changed our policies during emergency services or storms to prevent these things from happening.

  The positive reviews on Google must be fake. This company visited our property and then never followed up. Just ghosted. I called numerous times and finally got ahold of someone 6 weeks later who said they’d need to pass. Suggest you pass on wasting any time with these folks.

  Mr. Jenkin, Reviews are not fake. I'm extremely proud of our Google ranking and I work VERY hard to achieve it. I've been in business since 2005 and have just over 220 reviews. Google reviews are the hardest thing to get clients to leave. With over 5000 satisfied clients you think we would have more. I'm sorry we were not able to get you an estimate on your windows. At this time we only replace windows with a vinyl replacement window. I was trying to come through for you and was just unsuccessful in locating the wood replacement windows. We apologize we didn't let you know this weeks ago. Best of luck to you with your windows and again I'm sorry for wasting your time. James Powell

  I hired Powell Roofing because of their reviews and sales person. What a mistake. They flooded my house by removing a large section of roof when rain was imminent and I had water flowing down my walls. Had to get disaster+ in to rip out drywall and insulation. The roofers after we called sent extra manpower but the damage was done. Then, unprofessionally, they just finished and left with out a word. We waited for the company to contact us about the damage and I ended up having to call them. They seemed put out that I had to call in the disaster team to clean up the mess they made. They offered to repair the damage themselves but I have no faith that they would do the job correctly. Now 3 months later, I have another leak in my roof in a completely different area. I would not recommend them to build me a dog house at this point, Completely disgusted with their quality and their attitudes.

  Mr. Kingsley, I would like to start by telling you once again how sorry I am you had a water intrusion in your home. I'm very sorry you had to deal with this and I can assure you this isn't common here at Powell Roofing. Again, my apologies to you and Mrs. Kingsley. I would like to note just a few things. You have every right to leave a review on Google, but I do feel as if it should be an accurate review. First, I would like to clarify that we didn't flood your home. You had water intrusion in one room, the master bathroom. Approximately 10'x17'. That's a very small portion of your entire home. I don't want potential clients believing your entire home was flooded because surely that wasn't the case. Unfortunately, here in Charleston and the surrounding tri-county area in the summertime, we have a chance for afternoon showers most days. This was the case this day, and shortly after our crew removed a small section of roof (approximate one tenth of your roof size) from your home, we were hit with a pop-up thunderstorm. I can assure you that my crew stayed on your roof and installed the synthetic under lament to your roof as quickly as possible to minimize damages. After it started raining, my crew did the best they could to keep water out of your home. My crew did finish up and leave as the job was complete. As soon as I was made aware of the situation, I immediately called you and even offered to make all repairs to the inside of your home myself. Because I'm in the business, I know companies in all trades that can install insulation, replace drywall and paint. I knew this would be the fastest process to restore your master bathroom back to normal. Also, this would have been much more cost-effective. Yes, after several heavy rains months later you had a leak on the dormer. Dormers are one of the most difficult places on a roof to install flashing and is incredibly difficult to install around the dormers. My team arrived as soon as you allowed us and we repaired the

  I had my siding replaced. I had to repeatedly call them back due to siding falling off the house. They screen calls so you have to leave a voicemail. You rarely speak to a person and they are not responsive to emails. I am very disappointed with this company.

  Disappointed in my experience with Powell roofing. We paid a bit more to go with Powell roofing based on all the positive reviews. 1) First thing the work crew did was drive their truck and trailer across my front yard, bogging down, getting stuck and making a mess of the yard. 2) The second day they backed a trailer into another portion of my front yard. 3) Technically, you could say that they put drop clothes down around the house, but they didn't spread then out to catch the debris. As a result, we picked up about two dozen roofing nails after the crew had completed the job and departed. 4) Falling shingles damaged the siding of our house in a number of places. The work crew didn't seem to have any supervision. In the end, I came to the conclusion that they just didn't care about my property. Based on these experiences, we’re concerned about the quality of the roof they installed. It looks fine, but I guess we will know in a year or two if problems develop.

  Mr. Thies, I'm very surprised to read your review. I wish you would have called me or the office to discuss your concerns. We stand behind our work and we will fix any issues we are made aware of if given the opportunity to do so. Although I agree that my crew should have taken care to avoid driving in your yard or causing ruts, as soon as I was made aware of the damage to your yard, we brought in full load of dirt and filled the holes. I am sorry to hear that in spite of the extra measures taken to protect your siding there were scuffs left behind by falling shingles. We are happy to return and clean the blemishes at your convenience. I just wasn't aware of any damage to the siding as this is the first time you have brought this to my attention. A roof your size requires approximately 19,800 coiled roofing nails. Although we work very hard at ensuring that we have removed them all, sometimes we miss a few that the magnets can't reach or that have become embedded in thick grass such as yours. I apologize that you found 24 nails left behind. We strive hard to go above and beyond for our clients. Upon meeting with you at your initial appointment on December 8 you expressed the importance of having your roof replaced before Christmas. You also requested to have gutters installed. Even though we were booked well beyond the holiday, I made special arrangements to accommodate your request. Not only did we get your roof done before Christmas, we had your gutters installed. We were met with several obstacles but did our best to accommodate your wishes, five days before Christmas. When the shingle color you chose (Sunrise Cedar - low supply from manufacturer due to Covid) was unavailable locally, I found, ordered and had them delivered from Tampa, Florida, AT MY EXPENSE. As you mentioned, we have many 5 star reviews and 99.9 % of our customers rave about Powell Roofing. We stand behind our work now and will continue to do so through the many years of your warranty.   I am very happy with the roof replacement I had Powell roofing did for me they replaced the roof in one day and came back the following day to finish the clean up and install the rain diverters. If you need any roof repairs or replacement, I would suggest that that you contact Powell roofing. Kenneth worked with me and the office personnel LieAnn. All were very helpful and easy to do business with.Other than a new great looking roof a person would never know they were here. Not a scrap of trash anywhere. Quality workmanship.

  I've known James Powell for over 20 years and he has certainly built his business from the bottom up. His experience as a tradesman first, gives him insight to put his crews in the best position to do quality work safely. Project Manager Kennith was onsight before work began and throughout to completion to answer any questions or concerns. Crew leader Alex and his guys were respectful and courteous. Refreshing to see such a strong work ethic especially on 3 brutally hot days. Thanks for a great job!!

  Powell Roofing did an excellent job installing our roof 6 years ago, and has just completed repairs and replacement of siding on our house. Under the direction of project manager Kenneth, the team worked quickly and professionally, finishing everything in two days, despite the rainy weather. We also had a door replaced, and Richard did a beautiful job with that. Good communication from Kenneth throughout the process. Highly recommend this company!

  Great service at a great price. Bradlee took the time to find the leak that 2 other roofers had missed, and then quoted us almost 50% less than the other companies to fix it. I would definitely go with them for any future roof repairs.

  Bradley was a pleasure to work with says Sidney Roberts. His crew took their time during the prep work covering all our hedges & landscaping all while doing a superb job installing our metal porch roof. This crew was amazing upon completion.   Bradlee is an awesome professional. He assessed Charles Robbins' roof and came to show his professional evaluation with photos and easy to understand consequences of each problem. Charles was very uneasy at first, but Bradlee had a quiet manner that showed his concern for Charles. Because he explained things so well to Charles, who was very nervous at first, relaxed and felt very comfortable. Bradlee worked up a quote and Charles felt like iwas fair and trustworthy.
