Big Bear maybe rated highly, but their employees have no regard for neighboring houses or their property! No regard for designated gardens and they were asked not to walk in them. They parked in front of mailboxes so no one got mail in that …

Thank you for your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that you’re unhappy with your experience, as that is never our intention. Prior to the start of your project, we had a detailed conversation regarding your driveway. We discussed its pre-existing condition, including the cracking and prior structural concerns, and the likelihood that any roofing project, even with precautions, could result in additional damage. You were presented with two options: a more expensive method designed to further minimize risk, or a lift-assisted material loading process at a lower cost. After discussing the risks involved, you elected to proceed with the lift-assisted option and signed documentation acknowledging those risks. It is also important to clarify that the driveway had significant structural issues prior to our arrival and, based on its condition, was already in need of replacement. The quote you later obtained was for a full driveway replacement, not a repair of isolated new damage. We cannot reasonably assume responsibility for replacing a driveway that was already failing before our work began, especially when the potential risks were openly discussed in advance. Regarding communication, we followed our standard billing procedures and reached out after the invoice was issued to close out the project. This is a routine part of our process and was not intended to create pressure. We did initially express a willingness to explore possible solutions in good faith, but after reviewing the condition of the driveway and the prior discussions and signed acknowledgment, we determined that full replacement was not something we could responsibly cover. We stand by the quality of our roofing work and the transparency of our communication throughout the project. That said, we remain open to respectful dialogue should you wish to continue the conversation directly. We do truly appreciate your business and wish you had a better experience. If there is anything reasonable we can do,

I had a full roof replacement completed by Big Bear in June. The initial experience was excellent—communication during the planning phase was clear, the work was completed on schedule, and the cleanup was thorough with minimal debris left behind. However, after the first significant rainfall, I noticed a leak near my chimney. I reported the issue to Big Bear, and they responded promptly, sending a team to address the problem. They advised me to monitor the area through the next few rainfalls. While the leak did not worsen, the drywall remained stained. I followed up to ask whether Big Bear would cover the cost of repairing the interior damage. Unfortunately, they informed me that they do not cover interior work. While the stain is minor, I was disappointed that the company declined to take responsibility for damage resulting from their work.

Thank you for your feedback and for acknowledging the positive aspects of your experience with us. We truly appreciate that. We also want to address the concern regarding the interior stain. As soon as you notified us of the leak, our team responded quickly and corrected the issue. That’s exactly what our workmanship warranty is designed to do, repair any installation-related defects. However, it’s important to clarify that no roofing manufacturer warranty, and no contractor workmanship warranty, covers secondary damages, only the defect itself. For example, if a washer malfunctions and floods a home, the manufacturer (like Maytag) would repair or replace the washer, but they would not cover damage to flooring or drywall. The same principle applies here. That said, we understand how frustrating it is to deal with any interior damage at all, even if minor. Our goal is always to resolve roofing concerns quickly and prevent further impact, which is why we acted immediately once notified. We genuinely value you as a customer and appreciate the opportunity to have completed your roof replacement. If there’s anything further we can clarify, we’re always happy to have a direct conversation.

At first I was thankful for this company doing a metal roof coating. They initially came out and took pics of the roof. They failed to say if there were an area that wasn’t able to be sealed. On the day of the project, I realized they used …

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re truly sorry to hear about your concerns and disappointed to be finding out this way. Our goal is always to provide honest communication and quality workmanship, so we take feedback like this very seriously. You mentioned this happened some time ago — we’d really like to look into the details of your project. If there was a hole in the metal panel at the time of the coating, that’s absolutely something we would have communicated and addressed with you. It makes us wonder if the rust primer or sealant may have failed over time, but we won’t know for sure without reviewing the situation. Please give us a call at your earliest convenience. We’re committed to investigating this thoroughly and making it right if we fell short in any way. Your trust means a lot to us, and we appreciate the opportunity to resolve this. We look forward to hearing from you.

Dear Howard, We sincerely appreciate your feedback and are truly sorry to hear that you're unhappy with the resolution. Customer satisfaction is extremely important to us, and we always aim to handle warranty issues promptly and fairly. When your leak occurred, we took immediate action to repair it and also offered to handle the minor interior repairs at no cost to you. However, you opted to complete the painting yourself, and we agreed to reimburse reasonable expenses. Unfortunately, after a year passed, you submitted a bill that far exceeded what the repairs would have cost had we handled them directly. While we understand and respect your decision to do the work yourself, we have to ensure that reimbursements remain within a reasonable scope. The amount you requested—$1,600 for labor plus materials—was significantly higher than what we could have completed the job for ourselves, which is why we offered $500 as a fair resolution. We regret that this has led to dissatisfaction, as we always strive to be transparent and professional in our commitments. Your business and referrals mean a lot to us, and while we may not see eye to eye on this matter, we genuinely appreciate the opportunity to have served you. If you’d like to discuss this further, we’re happy to have a conversation to clarify any remaining concerns.

This is my second review for Big Bear. My first one was a 5 star because in the beginning service was great, warranty leak covered, hail inspection done and everything seemed good. We have recommended them to family, friends and neighbors which some used them. But now 5 years in we have been have a problem that we didn’t have with our old roof. We called into Big Bear and they sent an Estimator out “Ashley” which she was super nice and very knowledgeable and could very clearly see our problem. But she informed us that they sent her out by mistake. She don’t handle warranty calls so she let us know that somebody else would be coming out. Which never happened, instead I received is text… Hello Lori this is Rich again with Big Bear Roofing! I spoke to Ashley and my production manager some more about the issues you are having with debris coming in through the ridge vent. It appears that nothing is wrong with the workmanship, and that this just something that unfortunately happens sometimes due to debris from nearby trees. What we can do is remove all of the ridge vent and install a filter underneath it to prevent this from happening, but this would be considered a new repair. Let me know if you'd like me to have Ashley price that out for you! Thanks -- Rich So in other words…. The lifetime warranty isn’t going to cover all the trash and bug getting into the attic. I’m not talking about a little debris… I’m talking everything in our attic is covered in leaves and pods like the roof is wide open. When you open the attic door you have to sweep up a pile of yard debris! We can’t store anything without it being in plastic or you might as well sit it outside. This never happened with our old roof and I’m not convinced that the roof vent is on right at all. They will NOT get anymore recommendations from us. I would be embarrassed for anyone else to be going through this and I have warned all the others that we recommend and got roofs from them. It’s truly disheartening that th

Hi Lori, First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for being a returning customer. We truly appreciate the trust you placed in us initially and the many referrals you’ve given over the years, that means a great deal to us. We’re very sorry to hear about the issues you’ve been facing. While the type of ridge vent installed on your home is designed to maximize airflow and allow your attic to breathe, especially with today’s higher-efficiency roofing systems, every so often, certain environmental conditions, like nearby tree coverage and wind direction, can cause debris to enter through the vent. This isn’t due to improper installation or a product defect, but we understand that doesn’t make the situation any less frustrating for you. That said, what you've described definitely sounds excessive, and we agree, we should have come back out to take a closer look in person. While Ashley did identify the likely cause, we should’ve followed through more thoroughly to ensure we fully understood the extent of the issue before proposing a solution. Please know that we do want to help resolve this. We're committed to doing right by our customers, and in your case, that means re-engaging, inspecting the ridge vent setup in person, and figuring out the best and most fair course of action moving forward. You will be hearing from us directly to schedule a follow-up visit soon. Thank you again for your candid feedback, it helps us grow and improve. We’re committed to making this right. Sincerely, The Big Bear Roofing Team

I called Big Bear in November because I had a leak. They came over and told me I needed a new roof. I believed them. I bought a roof I could not afford and I have a warranty. When the same leak started leaking again in August they said its my fault. I paid $10,000 for a new roof that is now faulty and I have 10,000 worth of property damage. I am a single woman working two jobs and I feel they took advantage of me. I am now living in a house with mold and getting sick. Never hire this company.

Roofs are a big deal but Big Bear Roofing made it easy and the result was fantastic! Very professional, courteous, and an absolute joy to work with! My roof looks great, no leaks, and they even returned to correct an "aesthetic" that was originally created by the builder, not Big Bear. The epitome of quality and customer service! Special thanks to Ashley, Chris, Ty and Gudie. You're the best!! I recommend Big Bear Roofing to anyone needing repair or replacement.
