The one who went to give me free quote was too rude. He kept on telling me that they are business and they are not working for free. He said no one will check the attic without getting paid. I beg to disagree - some decent company will and I got one. $140 for an inspection with your rude attitude is a BIG NO. **** I received your reply. I am not an unreasonable person and I do not make things up just to give a bad review to any company. I think you are trying to defend your ill-mannered behavior. Willing to waived the fee? You said there is no business that will give customers a free inspectoon and those who gave free inspections are not going to last. Really?? Unpleasant? You are an arrogant person who looks down to your customers. If you are the Vice President of PJ Roofing - then you should change your tone when talking to your customers. The way you explain it to me a while ago was a little harsh. You could be kinder and showed empathy to your customer. I specifically did not set up an appointment on a Sunday - the guy I talked with insisted to come at this time. I really appreciate the guy that called me but you - I wished you didn't come at all. And for the sake of fairness before you come out, you should have explained first to your customers that this is how you do your business not surprising them that you are charging when you come. For me, stating your position is just a show off... a power tripping explanation by trying to intimidate me with your HIGH position. I don't care what your position is - just treat people with kindness. And let me tell you, I only respect people who deserves it. People will respect you by earning it not because you are the VP. Thank you anyway for taking time to reply. Well, this won't stop I guess. I still believed in goodness of people. It seems for you - it is all about money. Business is business. Nothing comes free and everything has a price. I hope you could just accept criticism - can't you not accept bad review? D

Free quotes are for roof replacements, which take only five minutes to prepare remotely using aerial measuring software. However, what you requested was a roof inspection, which involves a full attic assessment and exterior evaluation, a service that requires time, expertise, and resources, which is why we charge a fee. In your case, we traveled 40 minutes each way, covering fuel costs and wages for our technician, only to find that there was no sense of urgency despite active water damage. A reputable company showed up on a Sunday to help prevent further damage to your roof deck, insulation, and walls, yet the focus seemed to be on avoiding a $200 inspection fee rather than addressing the real issue promptly. We often waive the inspection fee for customers who are pleasant, respectful, and have good manners. Unfortunately, we frequently encounter people who try to manipulate the term "free quote" to their advantage, and this is a perfect example. All reputable roofing companies charge for inspections. Plumbers charge for leak inspections, and HVAC technicians charge for furnace assessments. The gentleman you met today was Pherne Junior Angibeau, Vice President of PJ Roofing. I was not rude. I simply explained the inspection process and associated fee. You responded by stating that you shouldn’t have to pay because someone else would do it for free. I politely informed you that we do not provide free inspections and would not be able to proceed. With 14 years of field experience, We don’t work for free. Have some respect for people’s time. 80% of roofing companies in the city don’t perform roof repairs because there are no margins and a lot of back and forth, especially if their technicians can’t diagnose and fix the problem on the first visit. The only reason we do is to help our clients, earn their trust, and build a strong reputation in St. Albert, which later brings us referrals from their neighbors and family members. As of today, we have completed 164 roo

The owner is completely disrespectful, rude and has a very unprofessional attitude. Would not recommend this company.

Hi Grayson, this review is non business related but to gender disorder. You were born male and I identify you as a male. Here is the link showing our disagreement on Facebook before you decided that a 1 star review on my business page would change my opinion. https://app.companycam.com/galleries/peQRqDgR I also checked your reviews, and it seems like you keep running into issues with gender acceptance when visiting bars (Flash on Church).

Had my roof done in May 2020.. Was away quite a bit that summer so did not notice until the fallowing spring 2021 when there were quite a bit of bird activity around my house. the birds were walking on roof and flying around. in 2022 the bird activity increased with what I thought was a nest nearby. Come 2023 the bird activity was crazy , so sat in my car and watched them go into the soffit area under an overhang in garage. I phoned top guy and told him they were getting under the soffits. said he would come out that week, and sorta blaming me. Its been 4 months now . Got a ladder to look and the facia metal trim in front of soffits had a dent in it, thus pulling it forwards and the soffits were loose enough and separating that birds were nesting there. No one EVER was on that roof but them. There is absolutely NO WAY a dent could be there on facia underside other than their workers hitting it when taking the old roof off. Fed up with his lack of response, thus the rating. they caused the damage, so they are not standing by their workman ship.

    Reply from the business

Hi "Bandito" Nobody blamed you. We blame the siding company for not putting the proper amount of Fasteners on their G Chanel which holds the soffits in place. We agree that tearing off the old roof could move the soffits. All you had to do was to hire a siding company and forward the $150 bill to us. Simple as 1,2,3 🥸 You waited 3 years to find a solution then try to blame us because the birds now have too many sisters and brothers in your attic space 😯 Why go up a ladder all anxious and attempting to perform a repair that could compromise your safety 🤔? Then to go online and try to bring down our reputation while your roof has been installed by the best. Fascia and soffits are related to siding not roofing. We are not a siding company. This is not a workmanship error. Your roof isn't leaking, shingles didn't blow off or you don't have any roof ventilation/condensation problems.

The morning after a big windstorm I called PJ to do a roof repair. A man who answered the phone told me he would come to my house in about 4 hours. He did not show up at all that day or any following day. I tried calling the first day and couldn't even leave a voicemail because the mailbox was full. I tried calling 2 days later and was able to leave a message but no one returned my call. Very frustrating and unprofessional.

    Reply from the business

After a "big windstorm," just over 20,000 houses within the city have been affected. Within one week, we received over 900 phone calls. All roofing companies are currently very busy. Due to safety concerns and extreme weather conditions (-30 degrees Celsius and heavy snowfall), we are not dispatching any roofing technicians at this time. We have sent an email to our most recent customers to inform them of the challenges and serious delays we are facing due to Mother Nature. You can continue leaving bad reviews on all social platforms, but you cannot destroy the reputation we've built since 1982. We take care of our customers, and the same goes for our employees. We have nine trucks ready to be dispatched as soon as the weather improves. As the owner of PJ Roofing Inc., it is my responsibility to ensure safety and protect my employees. As much as our business needs to generate income and remain profitable, at the end of the day, money is nothing compared to human lives. I will not allow any injuries or deaths to occur under my watch. As we all know, winter roofing operations are unsafe and will always be. We will mail you a check for $120 to cover the cost of your fascia repair. Pherne Angibeau President

Had my roof done about a year ago and let’s just say with our current weather, I’m glad I went with PJ roofing. The repair they did on my garage is holding out beautifully and I even had to go up one day to clear eavesdrops and everything look incredible still, enough that I went and admired the workmanship. Definitely recommend going with this company!

How refreshing it is to see someone take so much pride in they're workmanship. Pherne went above and beyond while completing my roof repair. I am extremely happy with the pricing, commitment to quality and professionalism, and can now feel confident that the roof won't leak. He also took the time to explain in detail why my attic is getting condensation build up in the winter and suggested a few things to check. Highly recomend this company! Thanks Pherne!

Required roof repair as a condition prior to selling. It was an urgent situation. I reached out to Phern at PJ Roofing. He was able to accommodate my request, completed the work in no time and at an affordable price. If you require a new roof or repairs, I highly recommend PJ Roofing.

PJ Roofing is outstanding! We had a chronic leak that we thought we had addressed with new eavestroughing and wall/window repair but it continued. We were very worried we wouldn't be able to find someone to help this late in the season, with winter on its way. Pherne was extremely responsive, started worked right away , working well into the evening each day until the job was done. Turns out we had multiple roof issues- Pherne was very knowledgeable, very skilled, and we are very grateful!
