  I want to warn others about my experience with this company. Back in December of last year, I discovered a leak in my garage. I have American Home Shield, so I submitted a claim. They assigned Mountain Star Roofing to handle the issue, and that is where the problems began. A few days later, the company contacted me to schedule a roof inspection. During the call, they asked what seemed like basic questions, such as the location of the leak and the type of roof I have. However, about 10–15 minutes after ending that call, I received an email from American Home Shield stating that they received the inspection report and were working on approving my claim. Confused, I contacted American Home Shield because no inspection had actually taken place. They informed me that Mountain Star Roofing had submitted an inspection stating the leak was in the garage and that shingles needed to be replaced—essentially the same information I had just provided over the phone. I then contacted Mountain Star Roofing directly to understand what was going on, since no one had come out to inspect my roof. I was told that they had conducted the inspection using a drone. This raised serious concerns because, at the time they claimed the inspection occurred, I was actually on my roof with my son installing Christmas lights. I did not see or hear any drone at any point. I requested a copy of the drone footage, assuming it would have captured me on the roof. At that point, the representative became defensive and said the “drone technician” was still out and that she would follow up once he returned. I never received any footage. Despite my concerns, I decided to move forward. A few days later, a technician from the company came to perform the repair. I had to personally show him where the leak was located, which suggests he had not reviewed any prior inspection or footage. He spent less than 20 minutes on the roof and told me he had applied sealant to some exposed nails. He also stated that no shing

We advised that we could still proceed to the correct property after completing another assessment that was already scheduled. However, you elected not to have us inspect the investment property.   Terribly crooked company with horrible workmanship! We hired them to do our roof and interior repairs a year and a half ago. Our roof leaks worse after they put shingles on! Once it rained and we told Randy Ponce about it he tried to blame our skylights on the opposite side of the peak of the house (Not even physically possible!) They gooped tar all over our fairly new siding! We stopped hearing back from them other than asking for more money, after they had already collected $32,000 including some for the inside of our house, which Randy texted and declined to finish the job, despite having been paid up front from our insurance! We are now currently in legal proceedings against Mountain Star Roofing and the owner, Randy Ponce. I should also add that they were slamming the shingles down on the roof so hard that it was extremely loud in the house and made the sheetrock come down in our bedroom and kitchen WHICH WE HAVE PICTURES AND VIDEO OF EVERYTHING!

  Bad experience coordinating work. They indicate work was done, but they entered my property without permission - without coordinating an actual visit. They were good at collecting payment, they were very puntual in making contact for that, but not before when it mattered to me, the customer. Never doing business with them again.

  I was very satisfied with the services provided by Mountain Star Roofing. Even though the process was long, they kept me informed along the way and the end result was that I got my roof replaced after the Insurance company initially refuse to pay for it. Their personnel is competent and courteous. My roof looks great and I highly recommend this company for your roofing needs.

  Wonderful group of people. Very honest and competent masters of the trade. The did a good job on a difficult project. They went out of their way to find matching roof tiles for us when other companies told us that the tiles couldn’t matched. Very recommended!
