  We had this company come out to give us an estimate to repair our roof. They said they would come between 2 and 3 PM but did not show up until 4:45 and did not call to let us know that they would be late. When Felix arrived he immediately told me the repair would be $1500 without getting on the roof or inspecting anything or even asking what the problem was. I asked how he could give me an estimate without inspecting the damage and he said “I’ve been doing this for over 25 years so I know what I’m doing.” I then asked if he would please go up and inspect the roof to make sure it wasn’t going to cost considerably more than what he was quoting me, even though he has no idea what was damaged, and he refused, got in his car and left. Why even come out to my house if you’re not even going to do anything? What an absolute joke.

Upon arrival he spoke with a gentleman and was given detailed information about the problem you are having with the roof. Our representative made the assessment and provided you with our standard flat rate to repair a roof leak. The type of leak/roof repair needed is a common problem we see time and again especially during the rainy season. We have repaired multiple roof leaks and the estimate and price are the same for homes with shingle roofs like yours. I understand this was insufficient for you and for that we do apologize.

  We did our research and hired Mak Roofing and Construction to repair a couple of roof leaks on our home. Mak had good reviews, and claimed to be insured and bonded. We were told we didn't have to be home while the repairs were being made. The first day of repairs went well. On the second day, the workers set fire to our balcony door with a torch they were using. They didn't have a fire extinguisher, they didn't call the fire dept., nor did they they call us to inform us. The fire spread from the balcony door to the master bedroom. Our home alarm system alerted us, and 911, that a smoke alarm had been activated in the master bedroom. We rushed home from work to see 3 fire trucks and police at our home. The fire dept. put out the fire. We were left with fire damage, smoke damage, and water damage. Mak's owner told us he would repair and pay for some of the damages made to our master bedroom. We asked him about repairs to the rest of the house that stunk of smoke, was covered in ash, and was soaked with water. He said he wouldn't cover that. Thankfully, our home insurance covered all the repairs. We had to move out of our house for 5 months for repairs and we had to replace a lot of our furniture. Our insurance notified us that Mak was not insured and Mak was unwilling to make any payment arrangements for everything our insurance spent on our claim. I guess we'll be paying for that when our rates go up. Next time we need home repairs, we're going to ask for the proof of insurance. We will not be calling Mak Roofing and Construction for any future work and we do not recommend Mak to anyone. Mak traumatized us and they didn't have the decency to take responsibility. Shame on you.

  BEWARE! I asked for an estimate and was provided all incorrect information and estimate. I’m not even sure anyone went out but when the office lady called me they were providing info from my house 4 years ago because they looked up old pictures from google. They’re really getting so lazy they no longer go thru just google and give you info based on that. Please do better Mak Roofing. You need a better process in place.

  Hello Michelle, we are sorry to hear that you feel we have provided you with incorrect information somehow; but our representative did in fact go to your home at the address verified with you. Our representative spoke to your tenant and the tenant walked our representative through your home to show him exactly the location of the interior damage and then our representative proceeded to inspect the roof where there was clear damage “a hole” on the stucco near a valley. Our process is to ensure there is always someone home, to avoid situations and customer thoughts like yours; speaking with your tenant will pove we were there. During our call you stated you did not know what a valley was; therefore, a picutre from Google was sent simply to show you what a valley is and where damage was found, NOT to tell you it was what we based our estimate on. I am sorry I could not make myself clearer.

  First- Did not give a heads up when on the way. Second- this is a roofing company and they told me that they did not have a big enough ladder for my roof so they couldn’t give an estimate Third- after doing nothing wanted to charge me $150 Just cause someone has a big house doesn’t mean they have money to give, taking my hard earned money somewhere else. Very Unprofessional and Un prepared

  Mr. Silva, we would like to apologize for the experience you had with your appointment. We attempted to reach out and make the situation right with you, but did not take our call. Unfortunately, you were given wrong information by our staff and procedures were not followed as we regularly practice. There is a method to get to the 2nd level of the roof using a regular ladder; however, having done so and using the access through your first floor would have caused damage to the clay tile because they can easily break; something we want to avoid. We do understand and agree there should have been more preparedness on our part and for that we are sorry. We have addressed the other concerns with our representative; there is no fee for the estimate and the representative should have sent you a notice of at least 20 minutes before arriving. We would be happy to return to your home and provide you with that free estimate if would like. It was certainly not our intention to upset you and want you to know that we work with all homeowners throughout El Paso area, regardless of their location and type of home they have. We are still here to assist you if you choose; just give us a call. We hope to hear from you.

  I had to replace the roof that was installed by this company because it was leaking badly.

  Hi Mr. Franco, We were astonished to see your review on our page as we do not have any record that you have contacted us since December 2020 for any concerns that you may have had. Our office administrator reached out to you yesterday and after your discussion it was found that this review has nothing to do with the second roof that Mak Roofing and Construction replaced for you in 2020. You stated that you have no issues with it. You did express however that you were unhappy that you had to incur expenses for your second replacement. Mak Roofing and Construction with agreement with you replaced the foam on your top roof that we had placed for you in 2018 with modified bitumen. Based on the email exchanges we have on our records from November 2020 to December 2020, you advised us that you were no longer happy with the spray foam on your top roof and requested to that we remove the foam and replace with modified bitumen. You also stated on that email that you were willing to pay for the material to which you paid approximately $600.00. You met our crew member at the store to purchase the material together. We accepted your request and Mak Roofing, and Construction replaced your top roof for a second time and did not charge labor. We find that this review is unfair as we made every effort to make you happy and complied with your request from us. Kind Regards, Mak Roofing and Construction

  I called and set up estimate for a minor repair due to wind damage. Received a text that our window would be between 2-4. After 4 pm I text the company asking if they were still coming because no one showed, they stated they were backed up and new window was 4-6. The gentleman finally showed up at 615 pm, talked with my husband for less than 5 minutes and stated the repair sounds like it would be $2500. The gentleman didn’t get on the roof to look at damage nor did he bring a ladder to do so. I waited way passed my window time for someone to not even look at my roof and quote thousands In damage!! The damage is about 5/10 missing shingles with nail exposure…unbelievable! Mind you our insurance adjuster came out prior and told us the repair was so minimal maybe a couple hundred that going that route was the way to go. Sounds like a company more concerned with ripping people off more so than quality service.

At time of the appointment our sales representative was provided by your husband a copy of the report of the home inspection along with the pictures of the damage that the inspector took. When a report and pictures are provided to our sales representatives there is no need to proceed to get on roof to view damages. They can provide you with your free estimate based on the report of repairs needed and pictures. Our sales representative provided you with your free estimate in the amount of $1,500. After our sales representative provided you with your free estimate your husband mentioned to him that your inspector stated to you that the repairs needed could be done for close to $400. We understand that our price was higher than you anticipated, but we believe in the value of our service and quality. Our sales representative did his part by providing you with the estimated that you requested for the repairs/damages your report reflected.   Inspected the ridge tiles, showed photos of what needed repair, then came back the next morning and completed the work perfectly. Everything was cleaned before they left. Very professional team.
