MidSouth Construction installed a roof at our home in early 2025. In the 16 months since installation, we have experienced three separate leaks in three different areas of the house. They addressed two exterior leaks only after repeated pushing on our part. They completed one interior damage repair, but a second interior repair that MidSouth was responsible for was never scheduled despite our repeated requests. Since May 2025, we attempted to escalate to management at least three times. We were never provided contact information by either the project manager or the receptionist, and when we finally reached the office directly, we were told the Operations Manager would not speak with us. Management did not engage with us until July 2026, and only after we sent a formal written complaint. When they finally responded, their emails contained factual inaccuracies, including attributing statements to us that were never made and characterizing repair work as "courtesy visits in an effort to assist." Regardless of MidSouth's position on warranty coverage, the quality of customer service alone warrants this review. At no point in over a year did MidSouth proactively contact us with updates or solutions. Every step forward required us to initiate, often repeatedly.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry that the homeowner who left this review remains dissatisfied with this situation. To clarify the facts for anyone reading this review, MidSouth Construction did not install a roof for the homeowner who left this review. Our contract was with the previous owner of the property, and the scope of work specifically excluded replacement of the existing counter flashing. Prior to purchasing the home, the inspection report also noted potential concerns with the existing counter flashing. Because our contract was with the previous owner, there was no MidSouth workmanship warranty applicable to the homeowner who left this review. Nevertheless, when we were contacted regarding leaks, we responded on multiple occasions as a courtesy. During each inspection, our findings remained consistent: the roofing system installed by MidSouth was performing properly, and the source of the leaks was the existing counter flashing, which was not installed or replaced by MidSouth and was outside the scope of our original contract. Although we had no contractual obligation to do so, we replaced one section of the existing counter flashing at no charge in an effort to assist. After the severe ice storms that affected Middle Tennessee, we again responded to inspect the home. Once again, our findings confirmed that the roof we installed was not leaking and that the reported issues involved existing counter flashing outside the scope of our work. The homeowner also submitted a warranty claim to GAF, which did not determine that the reported issues were covered under the roofing warranty. We understand how frustrating it is to experience leaks, and we appreciate that the homeowner was seeking a permanent solution. However, we cannot accept responsibility for components we did not install, were not contracted to replace, and that are not covered by our workmanship warranty. Throughout this matter, we responded to multiple servic

I had an inspection scheduled and had rearranged my schedule to be present for this appointment. Unfortunately, the inspector did not show up, nor did anyone call to notify me of a delay or cancellation. Their no-show and total lack of communication cost me several hours of my time.

    Reply from the business

Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for your experience and understand your frustration. In this instance, the appointment was missed due to an internal scheduling oversight on our part, and that is not the level of service we strive to provide. We recognize that you rearranged your schedule to be available for the inspection, and we understand that our failure to show up or communicate appropriately wasted your valuable time. For that, we are truly sorry. After learning of this issue, we addressed it internally with the team member involved and reviewed our scheduling procedures to help prevent a similar situation from occurring in the future. While we cannot change the inconvenience this caused, we do appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Feedback like yours helps us improve, and we regret that we did not provide the experience you deserved. Again, we apologize for the frustration we caused with your schedule this morning.

We called and had an estimator come out to look at our house to replace the siding. He called a few days later and said he wanted to bring another person out to help him get accurate measurements. They didn't show up, did not call and we haven't heard anything else from MidSouth Construction.

    Reply from the business

Mr. Wallace, we sincerely apologize for your experience. We clearly dropped the ball in following up on your siding estimate, and that is not the level of service we strive to provide. There were two customers with the same last name requesting siding quotes during the same timeframe. When a confirmation came through that a Wallace estimate had been submitted, your project manager mistakenly believed yours had already been sent. Unfortunately, your estimate was never delivered, and we failed to follow up as we should have. That is on us, and we take full responsibility. We have since put additional internal checks in place to prevent this type of oversight in the future. If you are still open to it, we would welcome the opportunity to provide your estimate promptly and make this right. Thank you for bringing this to our attention — we appreciate the accountability.

They will not uphold their responsibility for warranty claims. Even told me they would repair, then ghosted me for weeks only to say its not covered under warranty. However, the warranty company GAF said it was covered. I had to get another roofer to do the work.

    Reply from the business

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate the opportunity to clarify. Your roof was replaced by MidSouth in May 2017 and came with a 5-year workmanship warranty from MidSouth and a 10-year manufacturer warranty from GAF. When you reached out regarding squirrels entering your attic, our records show that we explained your MidSouth warranty had expired and that animal intrusion is not a workmanship-related issue. We also suggested that you contact GAF directly to determine whether your situation might be covered under their extended warranty program. We’re glad to hear that GAF reviewed your claim and covered the work at no cost to you—that’s exactly why we recommend GAF extended warranties to our customers. While we regret any frustration or miscommunication, our goal is always to guide homeowners toward the best solution, even when the issue falls outside our direct warranty coverage. Thank you for your feedback and for allowing us to address your concerns.

Had them do some repairs on long time roof leak. It was nice to gave the multiple disciplines in construction under one company. While the roofers seemed to know what they were doing and did a nice job, the rest of the work was suspect because it was not the same crew from day to day The salesman who handled our job was real nice, affable and conscientious, the siding crew was dubious. They needed to even be told to put in soffit vents, for they were not going to initially. Communication to the crews was not too good for they seemed to have a lot of questions. When framing a beam on our porch, they did it incorrectly so when the siding was wrapped, they had to make cutouts, that were never there when they began. They even missed how it connected to the house. When this was pointed out, they did not want to break it down and do it correctly, just add a board to bump out an area and rewrap. While structurally okay, it still was not "right", or as it should have been. Then the clean up done was poor. The roofers did a great job cleaning up but the siding crew was bad. I was finding nails for weeks. Again, the salesman was very nice and friendly, the roofers were good, but the rest.....well lets say that a person who is not a contractor (me), should not have had to explain how to do things. Also, they are so unsure of their work, they only give a one year warranty, basically worthless for it takes longer than a year to develop and see problems with the work. Therefore you are SOL.

Thank you for your feedback Mr. Feick! We strive hard to provide exceptional customer service and are thrilled to hear you were pleased with your roof and your project manager who worked with you throughout the process. We regret that you were not pleased with the siding crews and will address your concerns with them. We appreciate your business!

Extremely disappointed that I never received my estimate from an appointment on June 26th 2024. Followed up with Donald on July 18th, and was told that he basically forgot to get back to me. Was promised the estimate the next day, and as of today, still no estimate. Not sure why our roof replacement and other storm repair damage was not important to this company, but we've already hired a local contractor to take care of it.

I didn't not use this company nor would I consider them. I had an appointment on 6/13 with Rusty at 1pm to give a quote for siding. Rusty called and said he was running behind if he could come at 1:45pm. I said sure. We'll 2:45pm he finally shows up. Then he said he didn't know it was for a siding quote so he would have to send his siding guys out to measure (thanks for a complete waste of my time I'll send you my invoice for my time). Today, without being notified, some random guys show up (not even the same company so they clearly contract out their work). I have a sign Cleary stating not to know or ring the doorbell. We work night shifts so we have to sleep during the morning/day. We'll of course these random guys ring the doorbell. Then when I tell them to leave they proceed to still try to go into my backyard and take measurements. I'm sure if the gates weren't locked they would have just walked right into my yard after telling them to leave. Terrible communication

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We sincerely apologize for the negative experience you had during your interaction with Rusty and our team. This does not reflect the high level of service we strive to provide, and we deeply regret any inconvenience caused. We understand your frustration with the delayed arrival and the confusion regarding the nature of the appointment. While Rusty did inform you about his delay, we acknowledge that our scheduling hiccup was still an inconvenience. We apologize for any misunderstanding this caused. Regarding the unexpected visit by our contractors, we sincerely apologize for not adhering to your privacy preferences. Our team rang the doorbell to notify you of their arrival and their intent to measure for your free estimate. We regret any disruption this may have caused, especially considering your need for undisturbed rest due to night shifts. Your feedback is invaluable to us as it helps us improve our services. We will review our communication and scheduling processes to prevent similar issues in the future. Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.

I had such high hopes after reading the reviews online. The Good: they got someone out quickly to give me an estimate on a new roof, and the sales rep, Spencer, was extremely friendly. The Bad: it took almost 2 weeks to get a quote back. The sales rep was forthright and admitted he did not do flat roofs so he was having to get help from his co workers, who apparent were not to willing to assist him. Spencer's co worker, Jake, sent me a quote for $32,000 and come to find out, they won't even warranty they product they are selecting to put on my roof. When I asked for an explanation, Jake stopped responding. I am just baffled that a roofing company expects that a customer spend $32,000 with them and they won't even warranty the product for one day! And what kind of customer service is it when you ghost the customer?

    Reply from the business

We are sorry that you were unhappy with the free estimate we provided. Our records show you were sent a proposal ten days after your initial inspection. Your original project manager specializes in residential roofing, but his inspection determined that your home has a flat commercial roofing product which caused an understandable delay. Your roof is in extremely poor condition and required some time to consider all of the elements involved, including your flashings which cannot be reused. Your original project manager had surgery with some complications after your first meeting which kept him from being as involved as he normally is. The free estimate you received shows that the roof replacement did come with a 5 year warranty. Your roof is a complex roof and will need to be addressed by a qualified roofing contractor who installs a lot of flat roofing. Again, we are sorry you were unhappy with the time it took our team to provide you with your free estimate and the miscommunication over the roof warranty. We hope you are able to find a company to work with that will meet your needs and expectations. Thank you for allowing us to provide a free estimate to you.

I had a leak in my roof that was causing water to drip through my ceiling in my bedroom onto my bed. This has been going on for almost 2 Years. The roof had been redone only 10 years ago and I had it looked at once by another company and they couldn’t find anything. It only leaked when it was really raining badly, I ended up having to punch a hole in the ceiling with a knife sharpener so the water would drain out faster into a bucket that I put on the bed when it rained badly. With all the rain we’ve had in Nashville recently I couldn’t deal with this longer so I did my AI Research and That research indicated that mid south construction was at the top of the list of recommendations – so I called them. A woman by the name of Laura took my call and set up an appointment for a gentleman by the name of Rusty to come out and examine the situation and they would provide an estimate. Laura was highly professional, efficient and once the appointment was set up they sent me reminders of letting me know when Rusty was And the day that Rusty was supposed to arrive which was today as I’m writing this. He was delayed slightly because of a train crossing the tracks and he had the courtesy to call me and let me know that he was slightly delayed but would be here shortly. When he arrived, he went up on the roof spent about five minutes and came back down and said, “your leak is caused by a nail that Is sticking up about an inch, but don’t worry I will fix it immediately. He went to his truck got whatever he needed, went back Up on the roof and made the repair. When he was done he said it’s fixed. I asked him - Are you sure that much water could’ve been coming through to my bedroom from one nail hole? Rusty assured me that it could and that the problem was fixed. While he was up on the roof he noticed that some of the pipes that were coming up through the roof had not been sealed proper And he took the time to seal them as well at no charge to me. I was astounded! He was kind, thoro

Having a roof replaced can make for a stressful day, especially when repairs are necessary but the extent of damage is not fully known. It’s been a couple of weeks now since Mid South did the job for us, and we are very pleased with the results. Logan Randall made this much easier on us by guiding us through every step of the process from start to finish, and providing detailed information as work progressed. Jesse and the onsite crew did an outstanding job. Every question or concern was addressed. In all a very positive experience. Highly recommended.

Roof replacement can be a very invasive proceedure and we work hard to ensure our customers have their questions addressed and have a positive experience with the crews and our employees! We greatly value your feedback and appreciate your business! Thank you!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this. Your words truly mean more to our team than you know. At MidSouth Construction, we’ve always believed that taking care of people comes first. Sometimes that means replacing an entire roof, and sometimes it simply means seeing a problem and doing what we can to help—even when there’s nothing in it for us. Knowing you were away from home and concerned about protecting your home and family, we were glad we could step in and take care of the situation before it became something much bigger. Reviews like this remind our entire team why we do what we do. Thank you for trusting us with your home, for recognizing the heart behind what our team did, and especially for your incredibly kind words. We are grateful for customers like you and truly appreciate your recommendation.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can’t say enough good things about Midsouth Construction. They came out to inspect my roof for Farmers Insurance and found damage that they knew most likely wouldn’t be covered by insurance. Instead of simply completing the inspection and leaving me to deal with it, they went above and beyond. They were able to make the necessary repair at very little cost to themselves, helping prevent what could have turned into much more expensive damage inside my home. They also knew I was traveling for work and couldn’t easily take care of the situation myself. What really stood out to me was that they didn’t have to help — they chose to, simply out of kindness and because they wanted to make sure my home and family were taken care of. You don’t find that kind of integrity, compassion, and genuine customer care in companies very often these days. When you do, I believe people should hear about it. I truly hope the kindness they showed my family comes back to them tenfold. Thank you to everyone at Midsouth Construction for taking care of my home and my family during a time when we needed it. You earned every one of these five stars and then some. Highly recommend!
