This is the email the sent me: "Dear" Gregory, We visited your house a few days ago and you said your wife got sick and had to go to the ER so we were unable to measure since you have dogs on the back. But it's okay. The poor education you showed up on the phone speaks more about you than anything else. You have to learn to speak with respect but that's something you cannot expect from everybody else, right? Some people believe they're more than what they really are. We are just doing our job following up on the appointment. Hope your wife feels better and you can perform the job in the garage. Have a great night! 👋 😊
Reply from the business
Yes, sir. I personally sent that email and it is curious that you are not mentioning why I sent it. It's convenient for you to show your side. You are not saying that I sent that email after you disrespected me on a phone call. Then you emailed me back asking for respect and I answered you this: Sir, 1. Yes, we do use “Dear” on our quotes for our appreciative clients and I was just wishing you get the job done. 2. I was dictating your email since I was doing something else. I apologize if there were grammatical errors. 3. You're right! I've been sarcastic and I was showing no respect to you due to the way you spoke to me on the phone and then hung up on me while I was speaking to you. I'm pretty sure you are able to manage things in a better way. I called you because we want to apologize since your email went to the spam folder, which is no one's fault and/or responsibility and that was the reason we haven't contacted you sooner. If you were not interested anymore, you could let me know in a nice way. 4. You told us your wife went to the ER. We don't know the details. If she has fallen, well, she needs to get better since she hurt herself. The speedy recovery wishes for her are sincere. However, that's not a valid reason for you to treat people the way you did. Do not ask for respect when you are not able to do the same in the first place just because I'm offering you a service. And last but not least, do not email me again, please. - All of this because your email went to our spam folder and we called you as soon as we found it to apologize for the delayed response. You were rude and even hung up on me when I was speaking to you. Of course I sent it and I would do it again. Why? Because you have to show manners and respect. Not because I'm offering you a service you have the right to disrespect me. I will not tolerate that from you or from anyone else. I told you already: Yes, I was being sarcastic on that email and I wasn't showing you respect the same way

Called to get a quote for the gutter repair at my house. Was able to schedule one with their offices. Contractor who was supposed to come out was late and did not answer his phone at the prescribed time. When I later got in touch with him, he claimed he saw my house and decided that he and M&A exteriors could not complete the work. Unresponsive, unprofessional, and a total waste of time EDIT as response to M&A response: Your response is blatantly incorrect. Your contractor called me at 11:15 to tell me he was going to be about 35 minutes away. I waited at my house, by my phone until 12:30 when I decided to call the contractor to ask where he was. He did not answer until the third time trying to reach him: he stated that he had come by the house and determined he and M&A exteriors could not complete the work I originally wanted him to look at. I did not miss any calls from him because I did not get any calls from him until trying to reach him at 12:30. We have a front door camera and it is obvious he did not come around to check the actual side of the house I had placed the quote for. In what situation does it make sense for him to not even knock on the door or ring the doorbell to at least get me to show him what I was referring to in the original quote? I did not miss any calls from your contractor. I can send you the screenshots of my call history if you'd like. You are a customer service based business and the fact that you are turning this on me is why I am writing this review. I took time out of my work day to be at home for the quote and no one even knocked on the door. The fact that you are making an excuse (which is not true) and not remedying the situation is what I want others to know prior to contacting M&A exteriors for their services.

Matthew, We're very sorry about this but the contractor called you to meet you earlier and he got there at the estimated time and park on the back parking line were there was a few cars and called to let you know he was there already (at 11:55am) but nobody answered. You called to the office and when we tried to contact him, his phone appeared to be off because he was calling you trying to reach you once again. Then he leave and called to the office to let us know that he wasn't able to meet you because you didn't answer the phone. We were there at the right time and we called you. Then, when you get in touch with the contractor, he let you know he wouldn't be able to complete the job because he were there a few minutes ago and take a look at the building. Also when you two were talking, he was trying to talk to you about the 1/2 round gutters that we don't provide, and you hang up on him. It's not the first time that we get to the customer door and nobody answer their phones so unfortunately we have to leave. We're not able to wait but keep moving with our other appointments. We always show up to our customers and if there is any delay or anything change, we call them and let them know. Unfortunately, we have no control over if they answer their phones or not. Have a good one!

I had M & A exteriors replace my roof, that Friday, 07/26/19, at about 2-3, while I was at work 35-40 miles away, I received a call from the owner/salesman who stated that his crew heard air leaking from the roof, he said he didn’t know what the cause was. I left work to go home and see what was going on, when I got there that part of the roof was complete and had an x marked on the spot. I went inside and there was a vent located under that mark, so I figured they just hit the duct work, no big deal. When the owner showed up he asked me if my air conditioning was working, which I stated it was, and had been. That weekend, it was in the 90’s, and the air conditioning was definitely not working. After doing my own research and figuring out the Freon line had been punctured by a nail, I contacted the owner who wouldn’t take responsibility, and wouldn’t pay the approximate $1100 bill for the HVAC repair. He also threatened to have me pay for his guys coming back to open the area so the HVAC guys could fix the problem, as well as threaten to have me pay the cost of him having to go to claims court? He takes no responsibility for his company and further than that he tries to deny his mistakes and threaten the customer when confronted with those mistakes. My intuition tells me that he most likely knew exactly what had been hit, especially when he asked if the A C was working and if he would have shared this information on that day and time, it could have been repaired instantly, instead of me having to be without air for 6 days in mid summer, Integrity should be the foundation and at the forefront of every company, this one has none. I will be taking him to small claims court in an attempt to cover the cost I had to pay. I even stated that i didn't want to hurt his companies reputation, but he left me no choice. Do not hire this company, if anything goes wrong he will deny that it did and attack you. No stars! Update, responding to your response, You're miswording my

I'm sorry for not covering your expenses but, as I said before, having no eyes inside of the attic where there is no space to see it, is impossible for anyone to know that is inside. If I called you to let you know that air was heard coming out, and yes, we also put a mark to not lose where the air was heard coming out. When you arrived in the afternoon I asked you if the air conditioner was working, you said that if was working properly. On Monday afternoon you called me and you said that the a/c was not working, you also said that you had an appointment for Wednesday afternoon with a HVAC person, and I told you that I would send someone to fix the roof and you agreed. Tuesday morning you sent a text message and said that I should pay the expenses and that you would take me to court, then I mentioned that if that was the case, I would not send anyone to repair the roof, but as a good contractor I told you that I would take care of the damage to the roof and you will take care the a/c line expenses and you agreed. Wednesday afternoon after everything was fixed, you told me again that you would take me to court and that I should pay even the time you left from work on Friday, and I mentioned that if that line was not installed following the Virginia building codes, you were wasting your time taking me to the court because that wasn’t my fault and that I could turn the expenses towards you. Then you tried to sabotage me telling me to pay you the $1,100 and forget about everything and that you had friends to win at court. I said no and you threatened me to ruin my reputation everywhere you could do it and you send me pictures showing me places where you were writing bad reviews, including this one. I have all the evidence in my messages. Then I called some air companies and the most expensive one told me $300 if I fixed the roof. As I said before, I have no problem with you in front of a judge, I just tell you that we should let him decide. As a bussiness, I on

I will say the owner’s response time is the only good thing but unfortunatey I absolutely do not recommend this company, we had a 22 year old roof replaced by them and have had nothing but problems since day one. They half-assed their work the first day they put the roof on. The owner didn’t inspect his crews work after they finished and we found lots of gaps and holes. Nearly 8 grand for a “new” roof. One of his crew members spent the entire day today trying to fix everything that was improperly installed and packed up and left didn’t say anything to me or my other half and the work still isn’t finished, and the owner isn’t inspecting everything until tomorrow. I’ll also add that’s the crew member stood on top of my small storage shed on the side of my house and damaged the roof of it. He did not tell us about it either. My other half went out to check everything over and noticed it after the guy left. I do not recommend this company. If you decide to go with them, I’d watch everything closely.

I recently hired M&A Exterior to complete a roof repair. I had used them for a previous repair and was pleased with their work and competitive pricing. So when I needed another repair, they were the first team I called. No surprise, the second repair was completed in a timely manner with excellent workmanship at a fair price. I highly recommend M&A Exterior Home Improvement

M&A Exterior provided a reasonable quote and great workmanship on siding for 4 x dormers on our brick colonial. The team gladly re-worked elements of the project and ensured the finished project met our expectations, walking us through alternatives and pros/cons of each approach. Miguel, the owner is highly responsive and reasonable. I plan to use them again on other areas of the house.

Just had our siding completed yesterday, could not be more happy. Not only was the price great but the work is fantastic. It only took about 2 days with a follow up the next day to ensure there were no problems and to check for any nails that may have fell to the ground. Miguel and the business office were always in contact and very professional. The installers always checked when I was outside if I was happy with the work. Will definitely use them again.
