I had them come out late fall to fix my roof. The salesman was very nice and seemed knowledgeable. The person fixing my actual roof was nice, but I don’t need nice, I need a fixed roof. …

Thank you for your feedback Clayton. We’re sorry to hear you’re frustrated and that the situation has been ongoing. When the repair was first completed, we discounted the work because a portion of the originally discussed repairs could not be completed due to the power lines in that area. The technician didn’t deliberately avoid that area to avoid doing the work. We did communicate that in order to do the repairs in that area, you would need to coordinate with Dominion for safety reasons. When you later contacted us about the leak still being present, we explained that the technician who performed the initial repair had undergone shoulder surgery and would need some time before returning to work. You agreed to be patient while he recovered, and in return, we agreed to come back and address the additional repair work at no additional cost. The original technician reached out to coordinate a follow-up visit. When he called to schedule for Monday, he did not receive confirmation, and the call was disconnected when he attempted to follow up. He then sent a text message, as your voicemail requested, but did not receive a response. Because heavy rain was expected Monday, he also attempted to see if Sunday would work and noted that another technician would accompany him to review the repair together. James, the Technician specializes in brick chimney work. However, James didn’t get the message that you wanted another technician. Unfortunately, he just knew the work needed to be done and wanted to ensure you were taken care of. We hadn’t passed the message down to him directly because he wasn’t supposed to return officially until this week, he was putting in the extra effort to making sure your issue was taken care of. Our intention has always been to honor our workmanship guarantee and resolve the issue. We stand behind our work and would still be happy to inspect the roof again and work toward a solution if you're open to it. Please feel free to contact our office

This company installed my Roof 17 years ago. It is still in good shape, but had some storm damage recently. So they came out, assessed the damage, and in short order they came over to fix it. This company stands behind their work and does …

Hi Mr. Allen, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. We appreciate your positive feedback and are very happy to hear that you had a positive experience. We stand by the quality of our work and the warranties we offer on all new roof installations. We did notice, however, that your review was submitted with a 1-star rating. We’re hoping this was just a mistake, given your kind comments. If so, we’d greatly appreciate it if you could update your rating to reflect your experience. Thanks again for your support!

Overcharged me by 100. The guy came by says that my estimate is 500 and we shook hands. After work the company send me a 600 dollars invoice. Integrity matters!
Reply from the business
Mr. Ibeh, we believe you might me confused or misunderstood. Before we book any type of an appointment, we always let our homeowners know that we do have a minimum repair charge of $500 no matter how small the job may be. Your contract that you signed had $600 on it. Never once did you sign anything that said $500. We invoiced you the exact amount on your contract and nothing more. Secondly your repair was done over seven months ago and never once did you reach out to our company to let us know that you were upset about the price or that you were under the impression it was a different amount. Should you have reached out then we could have contacted our owner and seen if there was something we could’ve done then versus leaving a one star review on Google seven months after the fact that isn’t a true reflection of our company. Your review reflects badly upon our small business for something that is inaccurate and we would appreciate you updating it to reflect the correct information or at least reaching out to our office manager to discuss this. .

Hi Sandra, thanks for your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience back in 2020 with the materials and the lack of follow-up. We've made a lot of improvements since then, and feedback like yours helps us keep getting better. We appreciate you taking the time to share this.

They show you an itemized list of prices for materials but when you ask them how many items they used they have no answer. They just told me it is what it is now stop sending me emails before I go further into details!

Myles, we’re sorry to hear about your experience with our service back in 2020. We understand your frustration regarding the itemized pricing and lack of clear explanation at the time. That’s not the level of transparency we aim to provide, and we sincerely apologize. We also want to apologize for the follow-up emails, we’ve added you to our do-not-contact list to ensure you don’t receive any further communication. As a small, family-owned and operated business, we’ve grown a lot over the past few years. Feedback like yours, even when it’s difficult to hear, helps us identify areas for improvement and continue building trust within the community. Again, we're sorry your experience didn’t meet expectations, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns.

Atlantic Craftsman has been the most difficult company to deal with. I hired them to replace the siding on my house. The first thing I noticed was the house wrap they used was not the same as agreed in the contract. They also didn’t order enough siding which took over a month to arrive. I also noticed large holes in the walls behind the siding which look to me like they were trying to cover up. I was able to get them to fix all the mistakes but it was a very unprofessional experience.
Reply from the business
We are sorry for any inconvenience you encountered during the siding replacement process. Upon identifying the discrepancies with the house wrap as specified in your contract. Although we did not agree to your requested five thousand dollar discount for not using the Tyvek brand house wrap, we offered to remove your newly installed siding and put back the contracted Tyvek house wrap and then reinstall your new siding again. Please note, the cost difference between the Tri-built brand house wrap used originally and Tyvek house wrap that is now installed was only a price difference of $230.00. Unfortunately your home was built with gypsum sheathing (sheetrock), this product becomes extremely brittle and sometimes can fall apart when installing new siding. When our installers installed your new siding it broke through the inside where we could not see in which your pictures reflect. After it was brought to our attention, we agreed to remove your siding again and reapply the contracted house wrap. We then offered to replace those areas you noted with new OSB plywood sheathing at no charge to you. Again, replacing these items at no cost to you saved you thousands on this siding project. The day of the reinstall, you contacted us regarding resheathing the house with the correct OSB plywood like we mentioned before, we offered you a discounted rate per sheet to help you out again but you declined that option once you received the cost. Additionally, our measuring software was off by two squares of siding which wasn't discovered until the project was in progress. Your product was a special order and not a stocked item, therefore it took a few weeks to receive the additional materials missed and we appreciated your patience on this reorder. This also allowed us time to come up with the agreements listed above. Lastly, these photos posted did not reflect the completed project. These photos were taken while work was still in progress. We don't feel that it is fair

Context: I have a large picture window(can't open) front windows that vandalized. It had to be boarded up. This company was recommended by my insurance company. Their expected lead time was 3 weeks but ended up being 2 and a half months. They had to special order it so I requested the window to be able to open some how. Due to miscommunication and a employee leaving the company, that didn't happen. I got roughly160 dollars off a rough estimate of 1650. If you're going to use the company, keep email traffic. They didn't send multiple confirmations and kept it strictly to phone word of mouth. The window was beautifully built and the workers who installed it where awesome. Update to companies response: It wasn't miscommunicated about 8+ weeks for special order. It was told to me multiple times over the phone(that's why I tell future customers to keep email traffic only) that the way time was 3 weeks max. Please don't manipulate the conversation about miscommunication when it was directly told to me items. It's a bad habit to lie. I don't know why companies lie.
Reply from the business
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the extended lead time and the miscommunication regarding your window order. We understand how frustrating it must have been to wait longer than expected. Unfortunately, it was not communicated to you properly that it takes 6 to 8+ weeks for all window orders and the opening feature is not available for the size/type window you requested. We strive to provide timely and efficient service, and it's clear we fell short in this instance. If there's anything more we can do to address your concerns or if you have any further feedback, please don't hesitate to reach out. We value your business and hope to have the opportunity to serve you better in the future.

We had two sun tunnels installed today, one in our interior bathroom and one in the kitchen, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! Charles managed the project and kept communication great throughout. Kevin and Bill did the actual install, and they were professional, efficient, and did a fantastic job. They also cleaned up completely after themselves, leaving no mess behind. The natural light in both rooms has made a huge difference already. Highly recommend this team for anyone considering sun tunnels, great work from start to finish!

Jennifer, thank you so much for your positive feedback! Sun tunnels make such a difference with bringing in more natural light into dark spaces and it's great to hear both rooms are already brighter. We'll be sure to pass this along to Charlie for keeping things running smoothly, and to Kevin and Bill for the great install and clean job site. Thanks again for choosing Atlantic Craftsman, enjoy that natural light!

Edenton's historic character makes roofing decisions especially important for homeowners who want modern protection without losing the appearance of the property. A roof replacement project in Edenton may involve more than selecting a new shingle color. Roof pitch, architectural style, flashing details, ventilation, drainage, and compatibility with the existing structure all deserve consideration. Coastal and eastern North Carolina weather can bring heavy rain, humidity, strong winds, and storm activity, so the replacement system should be selected with local conditions in mind. Atlantic Craftsman LLC approaches roof replacement by considering both the practical performance of the new system and how it fits the property's existing design. Homeowners should also review local requirements and any applicable historic-property considerations before work begins. Replacing the roof provides an opportunity to address aging decking, outdated flashing, ventilation concerns, and other underlying issues at the same time. A successful replacement should feel like a natural part of the property while providing dependable protection for many seasons ahead.8 hours agoCall now
