  I am posting this to warn other homeowners, as documented in our active fraud complaint with the Texas Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division (OAG Complaint Number: TCP-051009) We hired JP Exteriors in November 2025 trusting their heavily advertised "James Hardie Elite Preferred Contractor" status. During installation, they routinely left sharp metal nails scattered across the property that our tenants had to magnetically sweep themselves, repeatedly left gates open resulting in our pets escaping, and damaged our dividing fence to the point of collapse. After installation, we discovered a siding nail puncturing the kitchen plumbing, wrapped in black duct tape. We only discovered this deliberate cover-up long after the payment when opening the interior drywall for an unrelated renovation. Active dryer exhaust vents were completely covered with fiber cement siding and some exhaust vent covers were heavily painted over that they are stuck shut; they all have been venting inside our wall cavities for months. JP Exteriors fraudulently triggered GreenSky loan disbursement while actively concealing life-safety hazards and severe IRC Chapter 7 building code violations behind our newly installed James Hardie siding. After numerous failed attempts to resolve our complaints directly with our project manager Gabe, we had to involve an independent inspector and the James Hardie Alliance Department. The 42-page certified inspection report indeed confirmed systemic installation failures and active concealment. James Hardie Alliance Department confirmed that JP Exteriors’ installation violated their Elite Preferred contract guidelines. James Hardie Warranty Department offered to provide free replacement materials so that JP Exteriors could execute a proper rework and makes things right. Despite having the materials covered, Vice President Allan Raykhelson refused to cure the life-safety defects and allowed their strict statutory Texas Property Code Chapter 27 (RCLA) set

  Do not trust this company or make any verbal agreements. They will not honor them. Get EVERYTHING in writing from these people if you choose to work with them.

  Avoid JP Exteriors – Untrustworthy and Unprofessional I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience with JP Exteriors has been frustrating and disappointing from start to finish. I feel compelled to warn others before they invest their hard-earned money in this company. We initially hired JP Exteriors for work on our home, including roof maintenance. Less than two months later, we now have roof damage that we have to pay another company to repair properly. This alone is unacceptable, but unfortunately, it was just one of many issues we encountered. From the beginning, communication was inconsistent and unreliable. We were assured over the phone that we would receive a discount—not just for change orders (because they didn't' measure correctly from the start and the price increased) but also in acknowledgment of the unprofessional service we experienced from their team. However, when it came time to settle the final invoice, they completely went back on their word, claiming they only offer discounts on the initial contract. It’s incredibly frustrating to deal with a company that refuses to stand by its promises. We had to find and contact the owner to reluctantly get a small discount that didn't even cover the cost of gas to go back and forth to this property when we were told, incorrectly, work was complete on two occasions. To make matters worse, we repeatedly requested an itemized invoice for the work performed, and each time, we were told they would get it to us. Yet, despite multiple follow-ups, they never provided it. This lack of transparency is extremely shady and raises serious concerns about their business practices. Beyond the dishonesty, the overall experience was riddled with delays, lack of accountability, and poor workmanship. We expected a professional job, but instead, we’re left with additional repair costs and an overwhelming sense of regret for choosing this company. While we understand your frustrations, there are several items that need clarification: Roof mainatenace: The few shingles installed in mid-December haven’t had enough heat to seal before Texas' recent high winds. This was a weather event, not an installation issue, and we would have fixed it for free if you had let us know. Driveway Damage: Our contract explicitly states that we are not responsible for issues arising from pre-existing conditions. A structurally sound driveway supports a delivery truck, but as a courtesy, we covered the full cost of repairing it in good faith to ensure the job was completed to your satisfaction. Pricing & Transparency: The change order was necessary due to non-standard window trim that we could not have known about until the existing trim was removed. The original trim was 2x4 instead of the standard 1x4, requiring double the materials and labor for proper installation. This was explained upfront, and we provided a goodwill discount to resolve the concern. Itemized Invoice: As a policy, we do not provide detailed line-item invoices because they often lead to disputes over every possible cost. We price jobs fairly and honestly based on project scope and material needs. Final Discount & Payment: We honored a ~5% / $250 discount, as agreed, to ensure a positive resolution. The customer acknowledged this and completed the transaction. JP Exteriors has been in business for 30 years, earning an A+ BBB rating and over 350+ five-star Google reviews. We stand by our work and our integrity. While we regret that this project did not meet your expectations, we went above and beyond to address concerns, and we hope this provides clarity to future customers considering our services.

  I would give zero stars if I could. They are completely incompetent. We hired them to install a set of french doors to my backyard. They couldn't get the door to close properly, and the French doors were scraping against each other when closing. They claimed the issue was a faulty hinge and that they needed to order a replacement. I emailed them multiple times for updates, and getting a response was like pulling teeth. They consistently postponed the repair date. When they finally returned to fix it, THREE MONTHS LATER, they discovered the problem wasn't the hinge at all, but rather a protruding screw. They didn't even use the replacement hinge; they simply replaced the screw. As a result, I had a non-functioning door for three months. Furthermore, we provided them with the specifications of the hardware we were going to order. They initially advised that a single dummy handle would suffice for the non-locking door, but it actually required a passage handle. However, when they realized the single dummy handle wouldn't work, they told us to order a double dummy handle, before they realized it needed a passage. Now, I have two extra sets of wasted hardware. I can't return them because their prolonged delay in installing the door caused the return period to expire. I also don't know what kind of discount door they got, but the handle is extremely low, only 30 inches above the ground. When I looked it up, door handles are usually 36 inches above the floor. When unsuccessful, he retaliated by posting the misleading and exaggerated review. Despite his attempts to extort us, we upheld our agreement and delivered quality work as promised. Unfortunately, some individuals try to take advantage of local small businesses, but we remain committed to fair pricing, transparency, and excellent service.

  The worst contractor I’ve come across in the business and I’ve been working in real estate/construction for over 22 years. The sales guy Matt was great. The painters they used were also good. Beyond that, absolutely awful. Do NOT use. Joe specifically was non-responsive, rude when he actually was tracked down, frequently ordered the wrong items in procurement (or didn’t order), team didn’t show up when they were supposed to and billing reconciliation was not handled correctly. I could never recommend this company. **I've edited this to include that our issues surrounding procurement, communication, etc. were with Joe. Griffin was very helpful in attempting resolution of our issues and tried multiple times to assist us with responses.**

  Did not deliver, very disappointed. There is a permanent cold draft in my house now that leaves my elderly husband and I shivering every night. Do not recommend.

  I did siding replacement with these guys. They work very fast, but it affects the quality. The quality of work is very fair. While working on exterior they were able to make few big cracks on my interior walls.The paint job is unacceptable. Paint is spotty and only 1 layer of paint. The caulking is terrible too.

  We had a really good experience working with JP Exteriors. Wyatt came out to give us a quote and was very friendly and professional. The price was right and they set everything up for getting started pretty soon after we signed. The best experience was with the crew though. They were friendly and I loved that the head contractor and the head painter are brothers, and their 3rd brother was a part of the crew as well. Griffin and Gabe were also super helpful with any issues that came up. We would happily use them again. They redid our siding with Hardiplank and then painted it.

  I had JP Exteriors fix an exterior door and some hail damaged siding. I was at work and my wife had to fill in as the project manager. She spoke very highly of Larry and his professionalism. The work was done well, and he did a good job of cleaning up before he left.
