  If you want a leaking roof and water damage, then hire this company. H&S installed our roof replacement in 2020 and we had a leak ever since due to incorrectly installed flashing. They sent multiple guys out over 2 years attempting to fix it, but water was still coming in. They finally sent someone qualified enough to fix it, but now our dining room ceiling is completely ruined. I cannot get anyone at H&S to call me back or respond to my emails about fixing the water damage to my home. Needless to say, I would not recommend this company. *UPDATE 10/2* After posting this review, H&S paid to repair the plaster on my ceiling.

  I wanted to give them a positive review, but our latest experience has left a sour note. We used them last year to replace the roof on the house we purchased. To my knowledge they did a solid job and the roof looks good. We removed our tanked water heater for a tankless shortly after, and noticed a few weeks ago that there was small water mark on the ceiling where a patch was under the old water heater plume. I called out Derek (who is great to work with). He told us that since the roof was new and shouldn't be leaking that they would cover the repairs at cost. In an ideal world a less than 1 year old roof should have been under warranty from labor issues and cost me nothing, but I wanted the leak fixed, so I agreed to the repairs. They called for a 4'x4' piece of plywood be replaced along with a 6'x6' section of shingles. I was home the day the technician came out. He was in and out in less than 20mins and did not do what I agreed to pay for. The patch was made, but just in a more simple manner than I agreed to pay for. I called the team to simply adjust the amount owed as the repair tech only put a small patch and maybe replaced 8 sqft of shingles. All I asked for was to adjust the total amount down to match the services done vs quoted. Instead, they sent out the guy again with little notice and he started tearing off a LOT of my roof and doing repairs without my consent. He also spoke almost no English, so I was not able to communicate my concerns with them. I understand not everyone is going to be fluent in English, but if there is a problem with someone's roof maybe send someone who is a bit more fluent incase any further issues arise. He did a 2nd set of patching & repairs, but still did not do what I was quoted for. I got billed for the same amount despite me calling multiple times that what was provided was NOT what I signed for. The only thing they did was remove the cost of the plywood and charge me instead way too much for 2 feet of 1x6 board. They refuse

  Disappointing..... I made an appt on 5/29 for some to come out on 6/25. Steve came out and was great, got an estimate back on 7/1. I signed and returned. Estimate for work to start was 2-3 weeks due to busy schedules. No problem. Finally after no communication I reached out on 9/1 with an email to Daisy - no response. I then emailed Steve - no response I was excited to get a vm from Randy on 9/22 saying they were delayed and items were back ordered. Ok So more time passes and I get a email from Dawn on 12/21 saying a tech was in the area and could come to do the job, just let them know if it was ok to proceed but I didn't need to be home. So it was Christmas week - I did not want the work done that week. So I immediately called the office - I got a recording that they were with customers - leave a vm. So I left a vm saying it was a bad week with the holiday to do the work and if someone could please call me about the proposal since so much time had passed. I went to work and came home at 3pm to find a tech in my front yard with my old gutters off the house. Disappointed and upset I called the office and spoke to Dawn. She told me she never received my vm and it was not her fault that the tech took the work order out of his box and left to do the job. Well I guess I forgot I was the customer. I asked her to go read my file that started on 5/29 and call me back. She called me back and left me a vm saying she was sorry and that she would send me a $25 gift card in the mail for my issues. That was the end. What they did get right was send me the bill a day later. It doesn't even matter that the $25 gift card never came. I realize we are in a pandemic - but simple communication would have solved this and not to have someone like Dawn speak to me so poorly on the phone.

  5 week wait time just to have someone come out and give an estimate and a $75 fee just to look at my gutters.. no thanks

  We have to redo all of the 13 THOUSAND dollars worth of work that h&s did. The engineer they work with stated the work they did was fine. Two UNAFILLIATED engineers stated that their engineer must not care about his license. Craig Farlow and Bill Thompson both stated they messed up our job, and they would install a different (the original) roof structure if they could go back in time. They then state the roof is sound—even if that were the case, their 13k of ROOF work is causing us to have to spend TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS on newly created foundation issues. But no worries, they just do roofs so the foundation is none of their concern. And no we shouldn’t complain, as they convinced us that rafters would be fine—they’re not. And yes the city passed it, but only bc they got their friend the engineer to write up a super confusing and unclear letter that the city told me they had no choice but to accept (tho two of their inspectors disagree with the findings but the engineer has final call). They are the supposed expert GC and they did not know that changing the roof structure from trusses to stickbuilt would create load bearing walls, which the current foundation wasn’t built to support . Either deceitful and unethical, or else just plain incompetent, contractors—Ned, Bill, and Craig. They anticipate no problems with the roof, but now we have to worry about the foundation, which wasn’t an issue before, and could have easily been avoided by installing rafters like the rest of the house. No worries tho, they gave us a measly 5% discount and threatened collections on us for the mess they created.

  I’ve been using H&S Roofing for all my roofing needs for over 17 years. From the initial repair work after I bought my home to them replacing it several years later. And most recently, making some repairs due to some high winds. They always are kind, prompt, fair, and would recommend them to anyone.

  Derek McMillion with H &S Roofing is someone you can trust with your home. I have lived in my home for 50 years and anytime there is a concern I can always count on him. Derek is a professional and responds with sincere kindness and knowledge. And let’s not forget honesty, I thought I needed a new roof but after him coming and checking the roof he said no, all you need is a few repairs. Thank you Derek for all of your help!!

  I’ve used H&S Roofing & Gutter Company for several roof and gutter repairs over the years. Most recently, they removed a damaged area, replaced rotted wood with new decking, installed ice and water underlayment, and installed new shingles to properly seal the roof. As always, I’m pleased with their work. Highly recommend.
