  Crandall roofing was hired to repair the roof leakage last January; we paid around $500; the roof stopped leaking for a short time. Last September it started leaking again; we paid around $2500 for the repair; we were told that it is completely fixed this time. Today it leaked so badly; we called them; we are asked to do Docusign. Nothing had been improved; only money is losing with leaking.

  Hi Jialin, We understand that dealing with leaks can be frustrating. Your first repair contract was for Crandall Roofing to clean a specific valley on your tile roof where a leak was occurring due to debris and compacted mud damming water from flowing freely, causing it to flow under the tiles and under the valley metal. We executed the repair as the contract stated. A repair like this is time consuming to take apart the tile roofing system carefully and not break tiles, execute the repair and reset the tiles. At the time of that repair, there was no visible damage to the underlayment. Since then, your underlayment has developed two small holes off to the side of the valley metal. Underlayment on a tile roof will last between 20-30 years depending on exposure to the elements and it is common for underlayment to become brittle at the age of your underlayment. Your tile roofing system is 31 years old and will begin to fail if it is not maintained regularly. Upon returning to investigate the issue and diagnose where the leak was entering from, we noticed a significant amount of debris from trees and compacted mud which is damming the water (in the same valley that we had cleared during the first repair) forcing the water under the tiles and into those two holes. Our estimator cleared most of that debris to investigate the issue at no charge. Our estimator also noted large amounts of debris in your gutters and on several areas of your roof. The leak issues that you are experiencing are due to deferred maintenance and the age of your roofing system. Again, we understand that dealing with leaks is frustrating but blaming us for the condition and the age of your roof, that we did not install, is unreasonable.

  I called Crandall Roofing after the recent storm. They claimed that they had received hundreds of calls, and to get an estimate, I would have to wait till the end of November till early December. The only way to get them to my house earlier would be to do an emergency repair that would cost $550 up to the first hour plus the cost of materials, then $115 per man hour after that. They emailed me this quote, and I never heard back from them for an appointment. Since then, I called another roofing company in Napa, and they charged me a total of $89.00 for the repair. I feel that this company uses predatory pricing. It is unacceptable to treat people in this manner, especially after a storm, and I hope that they consider changing that practice.

Following the high winds and rain from this past weekend we did receive a high volume of phone calls starting on Saturday, October 23rd. We received your call on Wednesday October 27th and, unfortunately, we were in full swing of on site repairs from the prior four days of consistent phone calls requesting emergency on site leak repairs. As a company, we believe in being compassionate and offer this type of on site service to help new and returning customers with unexpected leaks but this type of service is offered on a first come first served basis. Per our email from the 27th, we relayed our office would contact you when we had an available technician for your service area; my apologies if that statement was not clear. Crandall Roofing is based in Santa Rosa (Sonoma County), therefore, the rates we offer to surrounding counties do differ from our local rates to include the time and fuel it takes our technicians to drive to and from the location. Our service rates are standard rates year-round and do not change because of the rain. We are happy to hear you received a leak repair from your local Napa roofing service and wish you the best moving forward.

  Can not express how pleased I was with Candell Roofing. The entire team is professional, efficient and driven to doing quality work. My wife felt completely at ease with the crew on site. Project took a little longer than expected, due to severe dry rot that couldn't be seen untill the old roof was removed. Wayne, communicated all the steps involved along the way. I will always recommend Crandall Roofing going forward.

  We highly recommend Crandall roofing. We bought an older home knowing we needed to replace the roof. It was a big job with the underlying components not up to code and needing to be replaced. Each phase from the bidding process to the scheduling and work was done with professionalism and good communication. The job took two weeks and each day the workers made sure the surrounding ground areas were cleaned and free of debris. We would definitely hire Crandall again for other projects.

  Crandall Roofing replaced my roof and I couldn't be happier with the whole experience. From start to finish, every aspect was exemplary. Mike DeSouza was my primary contact and made all the difference. He handled the initial estimate, walked me through the bid process, and answered every question on the days the job was underway. His customer service was incredible and his patience was something else—he never rushed me and made sure everything felt right before we moved forward. He became a trusted partner throughout. The crew was outstanding too: friendly, professional, and they kept the job site remarkably clean. The follow-up impressed me just as much—before I paid anything, I had the option to do a walk-through with Mike to make sure everything met my expectations, and the scheduling team was courteous every step of the way.   EXCELLENT JOB. Amazing service. They went well beyond any of the other bidders. Daniel even showed up on his own time to help me with solar stuff free of charge.   Our experience with Crandall Roofing was excellent! The staff were prompt, professional, friendly, informative, competetively priced, and extremely accommodating of all our requests. When we requested a roofing brand that they don't ordinarily use it was no problem whatsoever for them to make that happen. They also worked seamlessly with a separate company to both remove and re-install our solar panels. Hopefully we'll never have to replace another roof, but if we do, I look forward to working with Crandall Roofing again!

  Here is a HUGE shout out for Crandall Roofing. I just had them out for an inspection, my roof is 27 years old and a few shingles blew off in the last windstorm. The estimator, Wayne, said I DON'T need a new roof! This one is good for another 5-10 years. He did say it could use some very minor maintenance. There was no big upsell tactic! I'm so freaking impressed!! Actually, work was more downplayed than anything else.... GREAT JOB CRANDALL ROOFING!!

  We had a great experience with Crandall Roofing from start to finish. Their communication was thorough and professional, making the whole process seamless from the initial quote to scheduling.
