I have been addressing concerns related to the roof installation since February of this year. The company maintains that the issues are not related to their workmanship; however, I have obtained two separate independent roof inspections, both of which identified concerns with the roof-to-wall transition and improper chimney flashing installation. The inspections also noted the use of aluminum flashing at the chimney rather than more durable materials such as galvanized steel or lead, which are typically expected for long-term performance in that application. At this time, there is still disagreement regarding responsibility for the interior damage, and only partial remediation has been acknowledged regarding the chimney flashing, which has not yet been completed. The response provided by the owner, including dismissing multiple independent assessments as incorrect and unprofessional, reflects an unwillingness to acknowledge differing professional opinions or consider potential issues in the original work. Additionally, the tone and content of the communication raise concerns about how consumer interactions are being handled during dispute resolution. Screenshots of the correspondence are included below for reference.

Actually I would not even give them a 1! We spent $20,000 on a New Roof! After 2 years we have MAJOR leaks. We live in Florida where a Coldstream Exterior was rated 5.0 what a joke!! The roof was leaking so bad by one bedroom , the whole ceiling is badly discolored.. Our main bathroom the ceiling is ready to fall down in one area The owner said he would " help" but he didn't. Didn't even take ANY responsibility at all even though we have 10 years workmanship guarantee and lifetime roof Stay away J Davis doesn't honor EITHER !! We now have a tarp on our roof and have the insurance company involved. It's a nightmare!! After a few hurricanes, we found out he NEVER put flashings on our roof 4 Roofers came and said the "work was incomplete and poor workmanship". They all said " flashing is part of a new roof" Coldstream is liable!! We are going thru a horrific time so stay far away from this company!!

Coldstream Exteriors operates in Greater Cincinnati. The Coldstream Exteriors they are reviewing is an entirely separate company and legal entity located in Florida. We have explained this multiple times.

I contacted this company for an estimate on my roof after storm damage. This consistent of tearing off old shingles and putting new shingles on 1600 ft. They gave me an estimate of $7073. So I excepted the quote signed off on the contract. …

Normally we take a “the customer is always right” approach, however in this case it would not be prudent or fair to us. The initial estimate written by the client’s insurance adjuster totaled $7073.63. We completed an inspection and went over the initial estimate with the homeowner, letting him know the adjuster’s estimate was missing several items that were needed to satisfy manufacturer installation guidelines and state and local codes. In order to account for the items that needed to be completed but had not yet been approved, we signed an agreement for $7073.63 with a clause to account for any additional items that were approved, deemed necessary, and paid for by insurance (similar to what happens when you take your car to an auto body shop after an accident). The client understood that the estimate total was going to increase and agreed to move forward - I am the owner and personally explained all of this to him. We submitted photos, state and local codes, and manufacturer installation guidelines to the adjuster, who agreed that necessary items were left off. The revisions to the estimate related to job scope and materials increased the estimate total to $12,011.16. The nearly $5000 increase was entirely paid for by insurance. Prior to completing the roof install I let the client know that the gutter and carpentry work was not something we would be willing to take on due to the project size (too small for our current carpentry and gutter scope). He was fine with that, understood, and I gave him a $3360.45 credit (the credit the client is referencing in his review) for the work we did not complete. This credit is in line with the insurance payouts and scope for said work. Legally a contractor has to accept what the insurance company agrees to pay if they want to complete work on a given claim and this is precisely what we did. The total amount of the work we completed, per our agreement and the insurance company’s scope and price, was $8650.71. This is where

We’re sorry to hear that you were unhappy with our communication. As a past client, we truly valued the opportunity to work with you on your roof, and after that project, we reached out via email, phone, and text to let you know about the additional services we offer, in case you ever wanted to work with us again. We understand that our outreach may not have been what you were expecting, and we apologize if it felt excessive. However, as soon as you replied 'stop' we ceased communication and did not reach out further and a one star review seems quite harsh. We always aim to offer value and support to our clients. If there’s anything specific you were unhappy with, we’d love the chance to address it and improve for the future. Please feel free to reach out directly if you'd like to discuss any concerns. Hope you have a blessed weekend. Update: We reached out to Eric only to apologize to him for the unwanted communication and see if there was anything we could do to rectify the situation. None of our other past clients had any issue with the communication and could appreciate that we are a family-owned company who was only trying to share our other services. A one star for this is unfair and does unjust damage to an honest business.

This was completely our fault. One of our employees mistakenly marked a job as "cancelled" instead of "scheduled" so the job did not progress down the proper workflow pipeline. We are working to rectify the issue with the homeowner now. One thing to touch on- we were working with Mr. Victory's insurance from March until August and were waiting to hear back from them on several items before we could start the work.

I recently had a new roof (along w/ gutters, soffits, etc), new windows, as well as new siding, installed on my house, & I couldn’t be happier that I chose Coldstream for the job…I first contacted Ben about a year ago when my husband & I decided to have the work done, and he was beyond patient with us and made the process much easier than we anticipated. He was always quick to respond to answer all of our questions and handle any of our concerns. The project managers for each specific job were very communicative, and always checked in to ensure we were happy with the work, and the work ethic and skill level of the contractors & crews was absolutely unmatched…I can’t say enough about this. I have already recommended them to a family member, who is soon to have a siding project completed by them, and would absolutely recommend them to anyone else I know looking for exterior repair/remodeling.

Really great experience with Ben and his crew, from our first meeting until job completion. We had been planning a siding project for years and just assumed that we’d go with replacement vinyl, with James Hardie cost being out of reach. Coldstream offered a better product and craftsmanship at a surprisingly great price. We are thrilled that we explored this option and have already received countless compliments on the overhaul of our home exterior. I would highly recommend Coldstream Exteriors for siding and gutter projects and will very likely work with them in the future for any other needs.
