Nice guys for sure, but good luck getting them to show up. Just needed some repairs for a leaky roof, but when they discover you don't need a whole new roof, they'll ghost you. ** UPDATE ** Huh? After verifying, verifying what? Verifying that you haven't attempted to contact me or maybe, call me back perhaps....again?? Okay, I didn't want this to go this far, but since you are lecturing me on "leak repairs are often a work in progress and may require multiple inspections".....okay, when exactly are these supposed to take place since I haven't heard a word from anyone? A good friend of mine is a morning host of WBAP and recommended you all. Great. I called and set up the first appointment. Later that afternoon, I got a call that John was in Weatherford and was still coming that evening. Fine. And guess what, Nothing, no show, no calls. I call again, for the next night. Same thing, "John is Tarrant county on a job but still wants to come, and would arrive in 55 minutes." Fine. Two hours later and nearly dark, so about 8:20 PM, John arrives and as I said, super nice, and was here a grand total of 15 minutes and said "my son Trevor would call me". Great. Two more days go by, nothing. So, I called and found Trevors business card in the fancy brochure folder John left. I called Trevor and left a message. Three days later, no return phone call. So I took a chance on that number maybe being a cell phone and texted the number. Shocker, Trevor calls me back. Again, super nice guy! He says he will come out the next day, Great. Trevor shows up and I let him into my garage remotely, since I told him I couldn't be there but he could go on in to the house through the garage. I marked the areas where the leaks were, plus his Dad had already looked at it. Trevor calls me and says "the door into the house is locked" I told him we never lock that door, in fact, we couldn't if we wanted to. He has to leave, and I rush home because he said he would come back later that day. Puzzled, I d

Mark, Thank you for your feedback. After verifying with John and Trevor, we learned that they visited the property on multiple occasions to evaluate the reported leak and discuss potential solutions. Leak investigations and repairs are often a work in progress and may require multiple inspections, testing, and follow-up visits to accurately identify and resolve the problem. We understand your frustration and apologize if our communication did not meet your expectations during this process. It has never been our intention to ignore your concerns, and we remain committed to helping find a resolution. We look forward to the opportunity to continue working toward a solution. - Blue Ribbon Roofing

The experience was good and first. John the owner promised the moon and delivered nothing as a result. When he found out that Allstate was not going to approve a new roof John the owner could not get away fast enough from our home. On top of this he was caught peeing in our back yard and was seen doing this on our security camera. Very unprofessional, and disrespectful of our home. I suggest you look elsewhere for your roofing contractor. Very disappointed in this company! D. S.

Failure to provide documentation of original roof installation and warranty for purposes of making a warranty claim against the roof shingle manufacturer. Blue Ribbon installed a roof back in 2016. We are selling the house and the inspection report revealed a new roof is needed. The buyers want us to use their roofing company. That roofer advised us to file a warranty claim against the shingle manufacturer. We need the original roof installation and warranty records. We called Blue Ribbon. The owner called back on Monday April 6 and we asked him to send the records. He tried to get us to use Blue Ribbon for the replacement work. We said no thanks and asked for the records to be mailed or emailed or even texted. The owner's son stopped by the house the next day, left his card, but not the records. We called the son twice, emailed him at least once, but still no records. The shingle manufacturer keeps asking us for the records but Blue Ribbon will not provide them. It is becoming obvious they will not provide the records unless we use them for the replacement work. It has been 9 days since we first spoke to the owner. This is likely to cost us thousands of dollars that the warranty claim will not fully cover. Blue Ribbon's behavior is appalling and borders on the unethical. It is clearly an unfair and sharp business practice that should not be permitted.

We understand the urgency, especially during a home sale. At Blue Ribbon, we take all customer requests seriously and strive to respond promptly and professionally. We stand behind our work and respect every client’s right to choose the contractor that best fits their needs. We want to clarify that document requests are handled in the order received and are not contingent on whether a customer chooses to move forward with additional work. Our goal is always to provide accurate and complete information. For projects completed several years ago, including installations from 2016, records may require additional time to locate, retrieve, and verify, as they are often stored in archived systems. While we make every effort to fulfill requests as quickly as possible, a reasonable processing timeframe may be necessary. We have been working on your request and have already shared the required purchase records with third-party vendors. If you would like to follow up directly, please contact our office so we can ensure your request is properly tracked and addressed. Thank you, Blue Ribbon Roofing

What are the signs that a roof needs repair instead of replacement? A roof may be a good repair candidate when the problem is limited to a small area, such as a few missing shingles, localized flashing damage, or a minor leak with no widespread deterioration. Replacement may be more appropriate when damage is extensive, leaks appear in several areas, materials are badly worn, or storm impact affects much of the roof. Blue Ribbon Roofing uses a photo-documented inspection to explain what is visible and why a repair or replacement may be recommended. The goal is to give McKinney-area homeowners straightforward options based on the roof's actual condition, not a one-size-fits-all answer.Aug 13, 2026Learn more
