  The roofer was on time for my estimate but unfortunately his words and actions were very contradicting. As he looked through my house for any signs of leaks in the ceiling since my roof needed replacing, he talked me through the process but he kept shaking his head and huffing and puffing. I let him read my home inspection when I purchased my house so he can see what was said about an old water stain. As he read through it, he started rolling his eyes and made it seem like it was critical. I asked him “what’s the matter?” And he ignored me, continuing to shake his head as he was reading.. shortly afterwards, when he finished inspecting my roof, he of course pointed out what was wrong with it and what his company will do. He told me to sit down next to him so he could have a talk with me. He started off with “my heart goes out to you-“ so I assumed it was very serious. I was told that the roof can not be repaired and will need to be replaced and that my specific issue will NOT be covered by insurance. He pulled out his calendar and said he was going to put me in for a day the next week and that he’d have it down by the next Wednesday. This would have not been an issued if he had asked me if I wanted to move forward first instead of proceeding to add me to his calendar. I told him I needed time to look through everything and consider what’s best for my budget and he told me he NEEDED my answer by the end of business day the next day, also saying he will give me the lowest price he can and throw in more of the wood pieces that go on the roof into the deal for free (I don’t recall what it was called) but he needed my answer within 24 hours. He seemed very caring but I was skeptical because of the insurance part. So I called my insurance and they came out here and told me they will cover everything including the old water stains inside. For somebody who has been in the business 10+ years, I should not make false statements about anything (in my case, the insurance). I ge

  Unprofessional is an understatement when it comes to our experience with this company. We had issues with our skylight immediately after the roof was changed and we got the run around. The icing on the cake was that one of the workers backed into our house on the last day and damaged the stucco. These guys took no responsibility for the repair. It has been 2 years since they installed our roof. We had a lot of rain in the fall and it is now leaking but nobody is even returning our calls and voicemails ( I gave them several weeks before finally leaving this review) Furthermore, it is worth saying that I had previously left a bad review and then someone immediately called my husband and asked us to take it down. Makes you think twice about how this company has glowing reviews online. Mr. Harrelson, There is no confusion, you are the same person he has spoken to in the past. He just called the number you posted ( he had it already) and left yet another voicemail.

  I’ve checked with my Foreman and an estimator. No one can recall the incidents you mentioned. It’s probable that you’re mistaking us with another company that has a similar name and poor reputation. I’d appreciate a call to clarify this.   Thanks for bringing this to our attention. First, our distributor will bring up delays like this immediately as we usually order material about a week in advance, so we would have been aware of this several days ahead of time. We’ve never had a cancelled delivery on the date of installation. Secondly, none of our estimators have any recollection of a homeowner with you name or do we have a file by that name. There is a good possibility you may have confused us with another roofing contractor that has a very similar name. Please call us to discuss this situation further! M-F 9:00-5:00

  Recently I scheduled an estimate with Best Roofing of VA due to concerns of a roof leak. Once the estimator arrived, my wife and I indicated that we wanted to get estimates on both the leak repair and roof replacement. The estimator made us feel like we were not valuing his time if we went with a repair and debated on giving a quote on replacement, as that would be inconveniencing him. He ended the appointment by stating we had a $7,000 to $10,000 roof and if anyone quoted us higher, we should walk away from their bid. Two days later I receive an estimate over $10k, which caught me off guard, as it completely contradicted what the estimator gave me in person. Don, the owner, was very friendly and was patient with my wife and I, However due to the poor customer service and incorrect information given by the estimator, we will take his advice and purchase a new roof elsewhere.

  After a year of dealing with this company over an installed leaking skylight, I've given up and will hire an actual professional to fix the issue. The owner will find any reason to say they are not at fault, even after we agreed to pay for any damage found. I recommend going with a company that doesn't offer a cash discount for customers to leave positive reviews. If only they responded to complaints as fast as they respond to negative reviews, wouldn't have taken a year to get a hold of the owner. Too busy on vacation I guess.

  Facts: 1) This roof and four skylights was installed in early May 2018. 2) According to the homeowner, solar panels were installed in October 2018 by-as he put it- a “Mom & Pop” company. 3) Homeowner contacted us in December 2018 to advise us of a leak that had begun around one of the skylights. We promptly sent a technician and the project manager out to assess the issue and effect any necessary repairs. 4) Homeowner called in January 2019 and reported he was still having a problem with the skylight. We sent a second technician out and he removed the shingles from around the affected skylight, installed additional waterproofing material and installed new shingles. 5) In March 2019, he called again and was still having a leak issue around the skylight. We sent our installation foreman out who performed an extensive water test and found no evidence of any leak occurring near the skylight. 6) When we called today to see if we could arrange an independent third-party inspection of the roof, we were told in no uncertain- and very salty terms- that he would NOT allow us to do that! What We Know: 1) If solar panels are installed incorrectly, the roof. will leak. We were told this by a solar company who has been in business in this area for over 30 years. 2) The homeowner had a ten-year installation and workmanship warranty for the material manufacturer but this was voided because he was negligent in advising us of the solar panel installation. The manufacturer would like us to confirm that all roof penetrations were watertight and adequately sealed. 3) By not allowing a third-party inspector come out and assess the problem, we can offer no resolution or provide any help. There’s some question about the “Mom & Pop” panel installers. From the condition of the roof (damaged shingles, scuff, scrapes, etc) and the fact that he was unable to name the company (and solar panels aren’t cheap), we’re beginning to wonder if this might not have been a Do-It-Yourself project.   Best roofing was very responsive to my emergency leaks in my rental and took the time to find the leaks with a couple visits. I have a flat roof so it needed to dry out some in order to detect the problems . My tenant just reported that after a recent big storm, there were no leaks so very happy with Bst Roofing’s work! I found them to be honest, knowledgeable, and very reasonable. Cannot ask for better than that!

  I had an excellent experience with Jeremy from Best Roofing of Virginia while obtaining a roofing estimate. From the very first phone conversation this contractor was professional, courteous, and easy to communicate with. He arrived on time, listened carefully to my concerns, inspected the roof thoroughly, and took the time to explain what he was seeing in a way that was clear and easy to understand. Jeremy patiently listened to my concerns and responded with professionalism and care. It mattered to him that I didn’t feel that I was being taken advantage of in any way. As a woman, I appreciated that Jeremy did “man-splain” at any point and he did not make the process feel rushed or pressured at any point. The estimate was provided promptly and included helpful details about the recommended work, materials, and overall scope of the project. And he followed up frequently to make sure that no assumptions were made on my part; that he covered everything clearly and thoroughly. Compared with other contractors I met, this experience stood out because of his honesty, experience, attention to detail, and willingness to answer questions. I met with a total of six other roofing companies and his quote came in exactly where I expected it to be; not too low (where costs would get added at the end, inflated after they low-balled me to capture our business) and not so high that I would know that I was being ripped off in comparison to all of the other quotes. Overall, the entire process was smooth, informative, and reassuring. The roofing products were of high quality with everything that we were initially concerned about. I am happy to write this review after having spent time with Jeremy over time in person, via text messaging and over the phone. Roof inspection by Best Roofing of Virginia at Broad Bay Country Club in Virginia Beach. We are assessing active leaks to determine if a roof repair can completed or if a full roof replacement is necessary. This roof contains a mix of shingles and flat EPDM roofing materials. The inspection revealed that the roof is at the end of its service life. Best Roofing of Virginia will present both roof repair options to mitigate ongoing leaks and a full roof replacement pricing.
