  My neighbor had her small porch area screened and highly recommended Bates and Sons. I was impressed with the quality of workmanship and called them on October 28 to set up an appointment for an estimate. The lady I spoke with was very pleasant, but explained that they were really covered up with storm repairs and it would be the first part of December before anyone was available. I certainly understood this, given the severity of the storm, so we set up an appointment for Dec. 4 at 2pm. Nobody came. I waited until 3:30 to call and was told that they were delayed on another job. At first she indicated that it would be February before it could be rescheduled, but she would talk to someone to see if there was another day that they could "squeeze me in." She called back very promptly and we rescheduled for Dec. 12 at 2pm. I was getting out-of-town visitors, but I didn't want to further delay it. My friends and I got done with sight-seeing and got back to the house at 1pm. Nobody came. Nobody called. I phoned a couple of times, beginning at 2:45 until about 4pm...nobody answered and I couldn't leave a message. So bottom line, I wasted 6 weeks where I could have found someone else to do the work. If you're too busy to take on any more work, just say so and we can all move on. But don't make promises you can't keep.

  Had a guy come out for an estimate. What a joke!!! 2 weeks later and still no estimate no nothing. My wife has called once 7 days after the initial visit and still nothing. …

  Mr Fox, we apologize for your experience. We don’t have a record of you on our schedule or record of any calls from you or your wife. We do apologize just want to make sure you got the correct company. We give hand written quotes on the spot for those items.

  If I could leave ZERO stars I would. Highly disappointed. We had damage from the storm back in early April and called Bates and Sons to come repair the side of our house. They came out the very next day for the estimate, which I think was extremely high for what we needed done, but we needed it done ASAP. They told us they would be back the next week. Two weeks later with no word from them my husband gave them a call. The lady said she thought our job had already been done and said she would speak with the contractors and have them call us back. That next afternoon we still had not received a call back. So I called the office and the receptionist seemed highly annoyed with my call and again said she would speak with the contractors and get back with me. She left a voicemail that night (Thursday), and said that on the following Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday they would be by. Well here it is Wednesday. I called FIRST thing this morning she said let me call them and call you back. She called back around 10 AM and said that they would be here this afternoon. Its 5:30 they are now closed and no word. So frustrating. I will be taking my business elsewhere and will never recommend Bates & Sons to anyone

  So far, I have been very pleased with their work. It’s not quite finished however from what I’ve seen so far, they definitely get five stars. I asked them not to clean up the scrap lumber because I wanted it. You would’ve thought I had asked for their first born male child.😂 They do not like to leave any type of debris around. Thank you, Todd. It’s been a pleasure so far.

  Highly recommend this company to anyone in the area! They got a quote back to me quickly, and put me right on the calendar to get the job done. We had gutters installed at our home, and they were able to match the ones we already had on the house. I also wanted to match the color to paint our decking, and he even cut me a small piece of the material so I can use it for color matching. Overall, amazing service and great customer experience.   We are so happy with the professional job Bates & Sons did when they added a screened porch to the back of our new house. The job took 2 1/2 days and they were there every morning until the job was complete. Donnie’s design and build skills were exactly what we wanted! Fantastic job and we couldn’t be happier! Our screened porch can be their model if anyone would like to see one before having a job done like this at their home!

  Just had them do a screened in enclosure on my deck. They did excellent work and were very nice to deal with. I would highly recommend them for any project you may have.
