  Avoid this company. Below is an honest accounting of my experience. We paid Austin Roofing & Handyman a 50% deposit ($1,437.50) to replace the entire soffit ceiling of our 18-foot high exterior entryway. On the work day, the subcontractors arrived 2.5 hours after the scheduled start after having already pushed the time back previously that morning. When they arrived, they had a completely different understanding of the project requirements despite the scope being clearly outlined in the paid invoice. On a call prior to arriving for the work, the assigned worker couldn't tell me offhand which company he was working for, and planned to bring only a ladder for an entire 18-foot ceiling that needed to be replaced with Hardie, despite my explanation on the call that there was an entire ceiling to replace. When I raised the issue on a separate call with the business owner prior to the sub-contractor's arrival, the business owner assured me his sub-contractor was equipped for the full scope of the repair. His own worker, as recorded at my doorbell video an hour later had no clue what the scope of work was, thinking he was replacing just a single panel instead of the entire ceiling. No work was performed. No materials were delivered. He refuses to refund our deposit and smugly points to a "no refund" policy as though he "got me". We are disputing the charges and filing a complaint with the BBB. Update: 8/17/26: 12:24pm. This is a reply to the business owner's response. In his response my my review (below), the business owner claims his team arrived and set up. That is false, plain and simple - the two sub-contractors showed up without the crew, tools, or materials to complete the job, and they said so themselves! We have this on ring camera and I wish there were a way to post it directly in this review.   I'm sorry you did not like our world-class services. We take great pride in our work, but we cannot issue refunds for last-minute cancellations. As stated in our signed agreement, cancellations made on the day of the job—after our team has already arrived and set up—are non-refundable to cover labor and preparation costs. We attempted to resolve this with you over the phone and are sorry we could not make you happy.

  Matt has been excellent to work with. He is thoughtful in how he approaches any roofing issue and won’t try and upsell you on an entirely new roof if you just need some basic repairs.
