**Update as of 7/6/26. My roof has had several leaks that became apparent a few years after the initial install (2018). One particular leak near my dormer has caused internal damage to the home (photo 1). 1st Choice Roofing came out to do an inspection and documented the locations where their faulty install caused of the on-going leaks (photo 2). 1st Choice has sent workers out on x3 occasions to address the leak. However, after each repair attempt - the leak persists. It seems as if 1st Choice is not interested in actually addressing the leak - and moreso sends someone out to do cosmetic type work just to placate me for a while. They also refuse to cover the damage to the inside of my home based on the water penetration from the faulty roof install. I'm changing my review to 1 star based on these experiences. I do not recommend working with 1st Choice roofing. ----------------------------- I initiated the roof project because I planned to later install solar panels on my roof. I wanted the roof install to be coordinated with the solar install. Charles A. with 1st Choice communicated well with all parties and developed the roof project in thoughtful relation to the solar panel project. I would recommend 1st Choice Roofing. The coordination with the solar panel company was important to me and 1st Choice was flexible and thoughtful - planning for ice and water guard to be installed on the portions of the roof where the solar panels would be installed and even providing feedback to solar installers regarding panel placement away from "high flow" areas on roof. The actual roof work was performed by a contractor and was well done. The communication among contractor, 1st Choice and I (homeowner) could be improved. I appreciated Todd M. with 1st Choice following up to ensure all facets of project were complete according to the contract. I also liked that 1st Choice Roofing is based in Cleveland, OH.

Re-roofed with First Choice, and they decided to cut away our electric heat cables and advised us we do not need them (after removing them) This was a terrible mistake as we have major ice dams damage this winter, which would not have happened had we had the electric heat cables.

This company installed a roof on my neighbor’s home and repeatedly threw trash and debris into my yard. They left shingles behind that I had to clean up myself. Very unprofessional and disrespectful.

Still have nails falling off the roof 6 months after installation. In our contract gutters were to be removed and reinstalled. That was done in an unprofessional manner. The roofers seemed to be unaware that this was their responsibility …

Trash company, Spencer’s little dweeb self forgot to hang up before he started talking smack about my home calling it a trash home. Would recommend Reliable Roofing if you’re looking for better pricing, better quality work, and not to be disrespected by a trash company.

Wouldn’t pay them if they were the only roofing company in town

AVOID 1st Choice Roofing Company. I had new roof and gutters installed in December of 2023. My house is over 100 years old with asbestos siding. They left asbestos singles broken and damaged and had to come out multiple times to make the house look decent. They left ladders leaning against the house overnight on two occasions. 1st Choice Roofing Company agreed my roof over a backroom edition was in good condition and did not need to be replaced - there were no issues with it. I did want new gutters over it since the rest of them were being replaced. I noticed in March that 1st Choice Roofing Company installed the new gutters over the backroom incorrectly. Water was running BEHIND the gutter causing significant damage to soffit. They came out multiple times, but were unable to stop all of the leaking. They insisted the damage was already there, but I have pictures showing worsening problem to soffit, due to the poor installation of the gutter. Again, the back roof had no issues, the poor installation of the gutter is now causing damage. 1st Choice Roofing Company proposed a custom drip edge that would run behind the facia to stop the leaking. I need it fixed and signed a second proposal on May 2, 2024 for an additional $500 - ONLY because they insist some damage was already there; this I agree with, BUT nothing like it is today. They refuse to correct the issue THEY caused with no additional cost to me - somehow, it is my fault.) The custom drip edge was installed on June 6, 2024. First heavy rain, water still ran behind the facia. 1st Choice Roofing Company had to come out an additional four/five times to correct the issue. (Issue not corrected until JULY 2024.) While outside during heavy downpour making sure the gutter didn't have any new issues, I noticed gutter over the front porch had water bypassing it and falling to the driveway. Looked out upstairs window and noticed they didn't connect the downspout from the attic roof to the porch gutter.

Admitted that shingles they installed were installed incorrectly causing water damaged and refused to do anything about it.

A small leak near my garage kept coming and going depending on the weather, which made it hard to track. They used water testing to pinpoint the exact entry point instead of guessing. That led them to a tiny crack near a roof seam that had been overlooked before. The repair itself didn’t take long once identified. Communication was decent, though I had to follow up once for timing updates. Since the fix, even heavy rainfall hasn’t caused any repeat issues, which finally ended months of frustration.

Amazing service, the young gentleman helped me fix all the problems in my roof I've been having! had multiple companies come out, giving me false information or poor quality service. 1st choice was top tier. Thank you.

Not sure what the last guy was talking about... but every time I've dealt with 1st Choice it's been top notch. Great company, better roof!

This is the second time I've needed work from them. First was installing a metal roof on an add-on room, this time was replacing a shingle roof when a branch fell on our garage. They provided good communication, quick work, and the job was done well. Everyone was friendly and professional and the house and garage look great. I will hopefully not need their help again soon, but I will seek them out again if I do.
