Weatherguard Roofing installed a new roof on our barn in August 2016 as a condition of our property purchase. They recommended a second-layer overlay instead of a full tear-off to keep costs down and win the contract, assuring us it was acceptable. We relied on their expertise and moved forward. We chose Weatherguard because of their many 5-star reviews and long-standing reputation. Unfortunately, our experience was nothing like those reviews—and we now see we’re not alone. Within the first month, we experienced leaks. They blamed the plastic skylights—several of which blew off in a windstorm because they had not been properly fastened. We paid out of pocket to replace them with upgraded versions. When the leaks continued, they pointed to the dormers, cupola, and skylights. We hired contractors to repair those areas ourselves, spending another $6,000–$8,000. Over the years, Weatherguard only returned to patch five visibly leaking areas. Interior water damage worsened, and multiple roofing professionals have since confirmed serious installation failures: lack of underlayment, inadequate flashing, and improper fastener placement. These findings are well documented. Weatherguard’s paperwork represented a 10-year workmanship warranty, which was one of the key reasons we accepted their bid. When problems continued, they suddenly claimed the warranty was only five years. Despite sending them a detailed PDF containing our timeline, contractor assessments, photos, and email communication, they offered no resolution. We are still within the 10-year period and made multiple attempts to resolve this directly. In a final meeting and follow-up letter, the owner formally denied coverage, blaming the building’s design—not their workmanship. From their letter: “The building will continue to ‘move’ expand and contract throughout the seasons and time. This reason alone creates risk, the building will shift, expand, contract and the plywood will lift, and pop creating leak poten

You are posting false information. This was a real estate transaction and the bids we provided were for full replacement. The replacement cost was not approved during the transaction and a second layer was installed on your huge arena roof. … More

Made an appointment to have a roof leak checked out. Shane showed up with a broken arm said someone else would be coming out. No one come messaged him back said someone would be here tomorrow no one came messaged him back again no response. Went with a different roofer.

Eric, it is unfortunate that Shane suffered an injury, but to be fair your leak is related to solar installation. To complicate the matter that solar company went out of business. Shane's error was in promising something he was not able to … More

Very shady company. You need to make sure hold their hand through the entire process to make sure they do the job correctly. Trashed my yard, landscaping, caused my attic to be filled with mold and failed to replace my roof per contract. I had to call several times over several months to get them to fix it. The fact they DID the repairs proves they knew they messed up and probably hoped I was too ignorant to notice a bad job.

Not sure what project this would have been for. We worked with you a few years back. The employee you worked with is no longer employed. Give me a call at the office. I would like to hear this story first hand

I wish I could give a zero star review. Weatherguard Roofing was recommended to us by our realtor. We had them give us a bid on how much it would cost to clean our tile roof last Fall, when we purchased our home. The inspector told us that the valleys really needed cleaning or we would have water issues. We felt the bid was reasonable if they did everything that was in the contract. We had never had a tile roof before so we depended on them to be the experts and follow the correct protocol. In Sept., they sent a person who was in an unmarked vehicle and really didn't engage with us. It didn't give us a good feeling but we had to assume they were sending a professional who knew how to clean a tile roof. He did not. I won't go into the details but he didn't follow the protocol in the contract. We have tile roofs on most of the homes in our neighborhood and we immediately heard from our neighbors, post process, that he didn't clean the roof correctly. It cost us $1,000 to have that done. Fast forward to December. The rains came and because the the valleys weren't cleaned properly we had water coming into the walls of our home. Several weeks of mitigation and repair (by knowledgeable people) required an insurance claim of over $17,000. When subrogated by our insurance company they took no responsibility. Needless to say, our neighborhood is well aware of what happened and the company that caused this damage. We heard there was a similar claim against this company and found that they were using unqualified individuals to do tile roofs. I've waited a while to post this review because I thought they might do the right thing. Follow up to response: We did give you the opportunity to respond to our water emergency. We called you as soon as the water started coming into our house. Your person said you were too busy to respond and provided a recommendation to contact another roofing contractor. It was an emergency, water was coming into our home. We called him and he referred

I had done business with company for 16 years and never dreamed it would end like it did Weatherguard had replaced roofs on duplexes, fourplexes, and single family homes and the bill always matched the estimate. I trusted them to provide a good roof at a fair price. In June of 2018 they quoted to reroof a duplex which I accepted. It came with a standard wording that this bid included replacing 10 sheets of plywood if necessary. On the day of installation I received a phone call from their office that there would be a few more sheets replaced. The word few means 2 or 3? Well, when I got the bill, it stated replaced “ALL sheeting” an additional $7900 added to their quote. I couldn’t get over how a few could end up all? I had to hire an attorney for the first time in this landlaording business. During my investigation of what went haywire, I happened to got up into the attic below the roof. There was the proof right there, they had not replaced 100 % maybe 50% We settled out of court for much less than they billed me for. This experience was beyond weird, how could they go from a five star to a 1 star. Since then I have encountered others with bad experiences with this company. Beware of this company

Renee, thank you very much for taking the time to write a review. It really does mean so much to each of us. Very glad Shane was able to explain the circumstance and cause of your leak and that Kory and Chris skillfully addressed the work and no mess to clean up. That is very important. We do understand how frustrating and how much anxiety something like a problematic roof can be an all the potential damage that can arise. Thank you for working with us !

After dragging our feet on having our roofs replaced my husband got three estimates and he chose Weatherguard for the knowledge and integrity he received from Shane. The crew were very hard workers and had our three roofs replaced in no time. We will not hesitate to recommend them in the future.

Just had a partial Re-roof and couldn't be happier! Shane was fantastic getting things lined up and Keri was super helpful sorting out the details. Both were really responsive. The crew were very efficient, and such hard workers. Jorge helped get a soft area rebuilt and firmed up, and then saw to every detail wrapping the whole project up. Really appreciated his professional attention to each part of this job. Grateful to all and highly recommend this company!

We had a mold issue in our upstairs attic space above our bathrooms. After having Dean of Purafog (who is another amazing and trustworthy contractor) recommend Weatherguard due to their high quality of work, we had Shane over to assess the situation. Shane’s straightforward, “no b.s.”approach, his willingness to do as little or as much as I wanted to fix our issues (while also sharing with me his wealth of knowledge from his 20+ years in the field) , led me to trust his recommendations, even though it was double the cost of our initial proposal. I sleep so well at night knowing I made a great decision with the investment in a roof from Weatherguard-everyone involved, from Shane, to Keri, to the amazing crew of guys that worked their butts off to knock out a tear-off, partial re-sheathing, adding bird blocking to every other bay, new shingles on two different stories, re-flashing two skylights AND a torch-down on a porch roof….IN A DAY!! I can’t recommend these guys enough…great people, all around.

Shane, Ray, George and six other members of the team did an excellent job of inspecting and replacing our roof shingles (September 16 -17, 2024). Office manager Keri kept us informed through out the whole project. She provided us with 13 photos of our roof, covering all angles, after the job was done and recommended us to register for PABCO Warranty Registration for a peace of mind. It is a good deal for us: high quality of work with an affordable price. I highly recommend them to anyone that needs roof shingles replacement.

Unbelievable...I have a 4,000 sq.ft. house and they almost had it done in one day. My son called me on the phone when they arrived and reported, " Yep, there are ten guys up there"!!! I really needed that since my OTHER CONTRACTOR just paid himself first. Weatherguard did a GREAT JOB 👍 and each seemed happy to be 💪 working!
