  **UPDATE Over a month later and they still refuse to call me back after countless voicemails. The generic response and "concern" yet they won't answere or return calls. 1-Star Review, becouse ZERO star isn't an option. Very poor workmanship, even worse communication, and somehow the absolute worst accountability. We hired Tri-State Roofing in Tacoma for what was supposed to be a quality roofing job. Instead, we were left with substandard work, debris scattered all over our yard, and multiple issues that were never properly addressed. When we asked for a manager to come out and inspect the horrible workmanship, we were met with threats of placing liens on our house. Every representative who came out gave a different excuse or outright lie, then promised to resolve the problems — promises that were never kept. We’ve left numerous voicemails and callback requests with the front desk, but the manager is somehow “never in the office.” This has been one of the most frustrating and unprofessional experiences we’ve had with a contractor. I wish I could attach pictures to show just how bad the work actually is. We would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for roofing services in the Tacoma area.

  FYI this company uses a third-party service that will spam you using spoof numbers via text and phone calls using what it appears to be an AI or Chatbot. I asked them to stop but they keep doing it and you can't block them since they use a new number every time. I asked Eric from Tri State to have them stop and he said it's out of their control. It is within their control to stop using the service. I feel we should all boycott any company that uses these types of services. If you're the company reading this imaging sitting at your desk working or in a meeting and having numerous spoofed calls and messages, come thru your phone. Not just one I'm talking a dozen at least on a good day.

  Hi Kelly, Thank you for sharing your experience. We take every review seriously, but we have to respectfully note that the details here do not match our records. Tristate Roofing does not offer an "$823 inspection," and that is not a price we would have quoted. Any site visit fee we do charge is applied toward the cost of services if a homeowner chooses to move forward, and we always make that clear upfront. We also have no record of scheduling a visit, inspecting a property, or providing a quote under your name. It's possible there has been a mix-up with another company, and we would genuinely like the chance to clear this up. Please give us a call at (253) 363-8280 and ask for Tahvia, and we'll do our best to get to the bottom of it.

  Three months later and no work done. They kept a 10% deposit for that long, not returning phone calls, not answering my calls, telling me scheduling was 4-6 weeks out, then the next week, never calling back, and then I finally get on the schedule after threatening to cancel and I take a day off work and they don’t even show up, stating that they scoped it incorrectly to start. Thanks for the wasted three months and lost interest on that deposit, as well as a lost day of work. Do not recommend fully.

  Was 5 star review. Great quoting process and looking forward to getting work started. Thank you Tristan. Now 6 months later, project unfinished. They ask for a five star review before the work begins, so that’s what many of these “reviews “ are. Incapable of executing and finishing the project on time. Now after a $45,000 project I had to constantly manage, follow up myself, and except constant repairs to their workmanship and substitutions from original scope of work, a one star review. Update 5.25.25. Deck Tech walkable deck membrane did not last the first winter. Installed incorrectly. As soon as the weather heats up, it’s showing blisters and large bubbles. You could press in with your foot. There’s an area in the cricket that is already starting to separate and I can see where other seem intersections are beginning to bubble. Getting a hold of them and getting things resolved as painful. I’ve now included the Better Business Bureau.

  I hope whoever reads this review saves themselves from the Tristate experience. My wife and I hired Tristate to complete multiple projects at our home and not one of them were completed as promised. Tristate’s most significant failure came from the skirting they installed around our home. We own a manufactured home and the skirting around it was severely damaged to the point animals could get under our house. Tristate said they could fix this, and multiple people promised us, multiple times, they would install it in a way that would completely enclose our crawl space, keeping dirt and animals out. The day the work crew arrived, I tried to explain to them what I wanted to ensure it was done properly but the foreman spoke broken English at best. After the work was completed, we found they had simply propped up the old and damaged material behind the new material, which caused dirt to slide under the new skirting, entering our crawl space (see photos). When we reached out to Tristate about this, we were met with nothing but hostility. Rather than trying to help us find a solution, they said the work we wanted done on the skirting was “outside the scope of the contract and manufacture recommendations.” None of this was communicated to us beforehand, and the limitations of the material used (James Hardy board) was never discussed. After correspondence with multiple employees only ONE apologized for our experience, but even that only came after threatening to file a civil complaint in court. At the time of this writing, we are still trying to complete the repairs Tristate failed to do. As young homeowners this has taught us a lesson that unfortunately had to be learned the hard way. If you are considering hiring Tristate, save yourself some time, money, and sanity and look elsewhere.

  I hired them for preventive maintenance before monsoon season. They cleaned gutters, resealed minor cracks, and checked all roof edges carefully. Nothing major was wrong, but they still found a few weak spots I hadn’t noticed. The work didn’t feel rushed, though it took longer than I expected for a “maintenance” job.
