You're better off finding a company that will do the job right the first time

Used these guys for a maintenance job as they had worked for the previous homeowner, what a disaster. Poor communication - calling early mornings/late nights, poor scheduling - called day-of contractors being available. Honestly questionable attention to detail too - I had to point out multiple shakes that had significant curling and needed to be replaced. At that point they had only used half a bundle… makes me think that’s where they make some extra margin. Lastly, never provided a detailed quote or formal bid with work/prices and didn’t acknowledge my concerns about cost/budget. Won’t work with these guys again.

The company was supposed to fix a leak and was the highest quote for the repair. We hired them, because they told us about the extra things, like flashing replacement, that they would take care of. About a month later, the roof is leaking …

At the end of November 2017, we provided an estimate to the Langstons for leak repairs on three skylights, installation of roof vents and the cost of the materials associated with these repairs. However, they stated to us that they would be replacing their roof soon and would prefer not to do the repairs we recommended in order to save money. They requested that we limit our work to repairing a leak on one of the three skylights. When on the job site, our technician informed Mr. Langston that the one skylight they had selected to repair a leak on would probably leak again and it needed a more thorough repair. He also reminded him that the other skylights still needed repair in order to prevent leaks. Mr. Langston reaffirmed that he wanted just the minimal work done on the leak of the one skylight so that the expense incurred would be significantly less than in our original estimate for recommended repairs. In time, just as our technician had stated, the skylight began to leak again in a different spot. Our technician, who has many years of experience, came to the job site again and spoke with Mr. Langston reminding him that he had told him previously that it would likely leak again because of the minimal repair work that was authorized. The leak was in a different spot due to water diversion over the repaired area onto an unrepaired area. The technician offered to repair the rest of the area around the skylight but after initially agreeing to have it done, Mr. Langston declined the offer. Up to this time, Mrs. Langston had only had conversations with our owner and Mr. Langston was the only one who had any discussions with our technician. The telephone conversation Mrs. Langston had with our owner was definitely a frustrating one for both parties; the owner was out of the office and in a remote area with a terrible connection and very spotty service. The owner reiterated that he was unable to correctly answer her concerns until he had spoken to the technician and sta

Their truck was left with the window open and a large guard dog inside. The dog jumped out and scared us while we were on a walk through Ballard. We both were shaking afterward due to how sudden and loud the dog was and how it was not contained. This should not be allowed and makes their company look bad.

    Reply from the business

Hi Jon, Im very sorry that this happened to you. I have talked to the dog owner about this issue. I know that it can be scary for a unexpected barking dog. We have taken steps so this will not happen in the future. I would appreciate if you … More

Our shake roof inspection, cleaning, and treatment was based on word-of-mouth regarding another house that was done by Rainier Restoration. That homeowner provided a great reference.

Rainier Roof Restoration is the only company we have ever trusted with taking care of our roof. They are professional and never let us down. With friendly employees and caring owners why would I ever trust anyone else to do my roof?

They were very quick to respond and had significant experience with cedar shake roofs. Crew that came out to do initial cleaning and repairs were great and did an excellent job. Look forward to phase two when weather allows for staining in Spring. Would not hesitate to use them for future roofing needs.

Anthony and his crew did an amazing job cleaning and sealing our tile roof again. We have used Rainier multiple times and they are the best at repairing and maintaining tile roofs. I strongly recommend them for long term roofing care and service.

I have a 25-year-old cedar shake roof that needed cleaning and repairs. Over the years, I’ve worked with several roofing companies—some of which are no longer in business. I chose this company because of their strong reputation for restoring cedar shake roofs, and they absolutely lived up to it. From start to finish, they were professional, courteous, and thorough. Anthony Schmitt, the owner, took the time to explain every step of the process—from repairs to treatment—and it was clear they don’t cut corners. After cleaning, they discovered more damaged shakes than expected, so the final cost was a bit higher than the initial estimate, but I appreciated their honesty and attention to detail. I opted for the premium oil treatment and couldn’t be happier with the results. My roof looks nearly new again, and I’ve already received compliments from neighbors. I know I’ll enjoy the renewed look and protection for years to come. Do your research—I did—and I highly recommend this company. They’re one of the few remaining specialists in cedar shake roof maintenance in the Pacific Northwest, and it shows. It’s all they do, and they do it exceptionally well. As long as I own my home, I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my roof.

It was a great experience working with Rainer. Our cedar shake rook was in rough shape and now looks brand new after replacing sun damaged shingles and good oiling. I’m very happy with their work and the process.

It is a very reputable company that does a great job on our roof. While most roofing companies only install new roofs this one will fix and on our cedar roof they keep it in great shape. I do not have to recall when it has been treated as they do a wonderful job and work around my schedule when needed. Great company and great value.

Rainier Roof Restoration has repaired and maintained our concrete tiled roof for 5 years. We first called them out after a leak and since then we've been fortunate enough to think about our roof very little. Mainly because RRR thinks about our roof for us. The owner checks in with us regularly while not being pushy. Every person who has come out to work on the roof has been professional and polite, while taking extra care with our delicate roof. Honestly, at this point they are like family.
