Definitely not a company to use. Owner makes promises he doesn’t keep. Doesn’t keep appointments. Crew doesn’t listen to instructions. Find another roofer.

Hired them to fix a flat roof leak. They said it was the parapets and installed new parapet capping, leak continued. Then they came out and patched a chimney area, leak continued. Then they said it was a masonry problem--the whole house had just been tuckpointed. Eventually they stopped responding to our request for help by email/phone when the leak started to make our ceiling buckle and mold became extensive. Went with another roofing company all together, and roof leak was quickly solved without any masonry changes; there were areas of leak all over the roof that had to be replaced down to the decking, and a major leak from roof decking blocking a venting chimney.

We were very sorry to hear that your experience with Tidwell was not pleasant. We pride ourselves on extraordinary workmanship and outstanding customer service. I would like to recap and clarify a few things about the situation. We quoted and installed new parapet coping on the roof as agreed. We returned to assess the roof as it was continuing to leak. It was determined the roof was not the cause of the leak. We suggested contacting a masonry to see if the issue was due to the chimney, and caulked the chimney as a temporary fix. We have since learned that the source of the leak was the furnace venting into the attic space, which caused the moisture issue in the ceiling. As roofing professionals, we would have had no way of knowing the furnace was not properly vented. We have no record of additional calls. Since learning of your review, we have attempted to reach out to you on several occasions with no response. We are happy you found someone to resolve the issue. Please call our office if you would like to discuss further - 847-437-2710.

I chose Tidwell Roofing and Sheet Metal as the company for a complicated turret repair job necessary for my 140 year old home. They were not the least expensive bid but were far from the most expensive. What influenced my decision was the knowledge, responsiveness, and professionalism of their employee, John Skylas. He was involved every step of the way for this month’s long project and he understood the sensitive nature of doing work on a historical home. I couldn’t have been happier with my decision and would recommended the company, especially with Skyla’s’ supervision, to anyone facing a complicated and costly necessary repair job to a home they love.

Tidwell Roofing put the roof on our new building about 10 years ago. We are very happy with the results and when there are minor problems they come out quickly and address. I recommend Tidwell.
