Bought a new house, the downspouts were damaged and some were not connected to the underground drainage. I got a quote from The Way, it was reasonable, and all reviews of them online were positive, so I paid the required half up front to get "on the schedule". The check cleared on 7/17/25, so I called that day to get scheduled. I was told I'd receive a call back within 24-48 hours. After not hearing back from them, I called again on 7/28/25. I did receive a call back later that day, and it was at that point I learned there wasn't a "schedule". I was put on a list, and told I'd receive a call/text the week before they came. They said it'd be 4-8 weeks before they could come. On 9/29/25 (9 weeks later), I called to get an update. I received a voicemail from Kyle saying the repair order had been sent out this week, and the crews should be out next week. He said he'd call if anything changes. They did not come the next week, nor did I get notified about it. I called them on 10/10/25 (end of the 10th week) and was told the production team would give me a call back within 24-48 hours. I did not get a call back, so I called again on 10/14/25 (11 weeks later). I got a call back from Kyle later that day; he said he was waiting to hear back from the gutter crew. They came on Monday 10/20/25 (12 weeks later) completely unannounced. Of course, it was when I was out of town, so I reviewed their work when I returned on 10/24/25. Their work was satisfactory EXCEPT they forgot to connect one of the downspouts to the underground drainage. So I called them on 10/24/25 to inform them of the issue. Kyle called me back that day. I texted photos of the issue to him, and he said they should be able to fix it next week. Nothing happened the next week. So on Wed 11/5/25 (14 weeks) I texted Kyle. He responded they'd be out either tomorrow or Friday. On 11/13/25 (15 weeks), it still hadn't been fixed. I texted Kyle again. He sent Jonathan out that day to look at it, to get a bill of

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review. I want to be very clear — the delays and lack of communication you experienced were not acceptable, and I’m genuinely sorry for the frustration this caused. While we’re glad the final workmanship met your expectations, we fell short in managing timelines, follow-ups, and setting accurate expectations from the beginning. That’s on us. You trusted us with your project, and we did not deliver the experience you deserved along the way. Since this project, we’ve made changes to how small repair jobs are scheduled and tracked, including clearer timelines, better internal follow-ups, and more consistent customer communication so situations like this do not happen again. We appreciate you choosing us initially and regret that we didn’t earn your recommendation. If you’re open to it, I’d welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly to discuss this further and see how we can make this right. — Austin Owner, The Way Construction

The work quality was good. However there communication could use some work. When we picked the Hardy board for siding the sales person assured us there wouldn’t be any extra expenses after the process starts. Of course after the workers started and had things ripped off the house they had to add OSB board to be able to hold the Hardy board. That was an extra $3,000! We also ordered new shutters, but the sale man didn’t order it at the same time as the siding. We had to wait 2 months for it. When it did come in nobody told me they were coming and when I was leaving for work that morning the shutters were sitting in the middle of the driveway but nobody was around. 30 minutes later after getting to work I get a text from them stating they didn’t know where the shutters went to. I had moved them into the garage because nobody told me they were coming. Also, they left our dish network cable hanging on the side of the house and a big pile of trash behind the house. We had to ask a few times for them to pick up the trash and to connect the cable back to the house.

Thank you for taking the time to leave an honest review and for recognizing the quality of the finished work — we truly appreciate that. That said, you’re absolutely right to call out the communication breakdowns, and we apologize for the frustration they caused. We aim to set clear expectations up front and communicate proactively throughout a project, and in your case, we fell short in several areas. Regarding the additional OSB, this is something that can only be fully identified once existing materials are removed, but we understand how upsetting unexpected costs can be — especially when expectations were not aligned early enough. We’re actively improving how these possibilities are explained during the sales process so homeowners are better prepared. The shutter delay and lack of notice before installation, the confusion around their delivery, and the cleanup items you mentioned are all valid concerns. Those should have been handled more smoothly, and we take responsibility for that experience. Feedback like yours helps us improve our systems and communication, and we appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention. If you’re open to it, we’d welcome the opportunity to speak directly and make sure everything is fully resolved. Thank you again for trusting The Way Construction with your home.

Amazing service! Showed up before anyone the morning after the storms and tarped the areas. Helped by providing guidance on the insurance process and kept us updated throughout the entire process. They expedited the roof replacement once we got approval and was done in one day. Everything was cleaned up and back to normal by the next morning. Highly recommend!!!

This is not a complaint. This is a correction. Something has shifted and changed, because what you see in the photos is not what you get as a customer. The crew that showed up to our house yesterday ran about 30ish minutes late. There weren't as many as I thought there would be, so they have to come back today because they didn't finish the roof on the house, and they still have to do the roof on the garage. We're not upset about it, we are grateful that it's getting done, but don't expect them to be done in one day. Especially if you do not have a traditional roof. Also, you should probably find somewhere else to stay while they're here. My husband cut the side of his foot on a piece of metal when we came back from the store. I told him that that's what he gets for wearing sandals on a construction site. It was a superficial cut, and he's fine, but people should think about these things. Our biggest concern was the lack of communication. Not once did we get any updates or anything from anyone on the crew, and they were here from 8:30 AM to almost 9 PM. We find that strange and that's the biggest reason why they get three stars.

Auntie Kay, We were working directly with Trace, the property manager, as our point of contact for the project. We were never provided with your name or contact information, so all communication and updates were given directly to Trace. Had we been given your information, we absolutely would have communicated with you as well. Hope you have a great day!

1st Avenue Presbyterian Church called on the way construction to reroof our sanctuary. They had the new roof on in two days even with all the square footage and height. It looks beautiful and was very affordable. We couldn’t be more pleased.

I was very much impressed with THE WAYS’ rep, Thomas, who inspected my roof, took pictures of missing shingles and other questionable areas associated with a 20 year old roof. He presented to me my options for either repairing or replacing the roof. THE WAY CONSTRUCTION team tore off the old, put on the new, while replacing any damaged wood planking as needed. The team was amazing, and the job was completed in just one day’s time. THANK YOU!
