  Shady contractor tactics. A rep showed up and met with a homeowner that is already being taken care of by us. That’s fine. Competition is 100% ok with us. However when the sales rep told the homeowner to cancel contracts and was told “no” he didn’t leave it at that. The next day the stronghouse sales rep called the customer and told him that he called our company to cancel our contract with us. Shameful and classless to say the least. Naturally, the homeowner picked up on the shady tactics and called us to let us know this was not the case and he wanted to go with us. Irish roofing used to be well respected in the Grand Rapids market. However when Stonghouse bought them as a private equity purchase, they have lost nearly most respect in the entire market. Several stories of the best, most educated reps being pushed out. And quite a few instances where sales people have told me directly they did not get paid on the work they performed. Not a good look fellas. I know this is a competitive industry, but show a little class. It will get you way further than doing sneaky and shameful things.

We understand the frustration that comes with a complex roofing project and the disruption that ongoing repairs can cause to your home and daily life. This project involved a flat roof system that had an existing leak near the chimney prior to our work beginning. Additionally, the existing gravel-surfaced roofing system concealed conditions that could not be fully evaluated until the roof was removed. Once exposed, it became apparent that there were conditions and construction details that differed from what was originally anticipated, including challenges related to the chimney area and existing wood panel siding, which limited proper flashing access without additional reconstruction. We acknowledge that aspects of this project did not go as planned. During the course of our investigation, we determined that portions of the roof required corrective work, and we took responsibility for addressing those items. We also recognize that the process took longer than either party would have preferred. A significant portion of the timeline was spent investigating the source of the water intrusion and determining the appropriate corrective measures before committing to a specific repair approach. While we understand your desire for assurances before work proceeded, we needed to complete that evaluation process to accurately identify the cause and scope of repairs. Throughout the project, our team continued to respond, investigate, and perform corrective work until the leak concerns were addressed. We also worked through the property damage claim process and ultimately approved the necessary interior restoration work. While we regret that your experience did not meet your expectations, we respectfully disagree with the characterization that we failed to address the concerns raised.   I could write a huge review, but I think I will keep somewhat short. I'm happy with the work done on my house. There were some issues during the roof install and gutters. Roof guys damaged some soffit and drip edge, but a call to the office got that fixed. The gutters had some issues after install. My first call I got told "You have a 100-year-old house, there will be surprises on work done". That didn't settle with me too well but another call and photos the crew came out and fixed the issues. I give big praise to the window team and Ken the manager from the window department. You all made my day because you treated me like family. You guys sure did bring a big smile. Thank you. I appreciate that you took your time on the windows and didn't rush it. The roof and gutters of course felt rushed, but again issues were fixed. Lastly, Justin, my sales guy. He was awesome. Sure, there were some communication slips, but he fixed things accordingly. Thank you for treating me like family man. You are appreciated.

  I first talked with Casey! He was so nice. Very polite and professional. The crew was efficient, they got right to work. They found an issue with the deco boards. They reached out to their office, got the supplies needed to insure a sound and safe roof. The color which Casey choose and I approved, matches perfectly with our siding. Follow up and communication are top notch. The only issue was a small amount of roofing nails the crew missed when they did the clean up.

  This is our second time we have used Irish for our home’s exterior. The last time, a few years ago, was for replacing our roof and this time was for new siding. After having such an exceptional and satisfying experience with our roof replacement, there wasn’t much of any thought of who to go with when researching someone to do our siding projects. With all of our projects the skill and great work ethics came through with the quality of the work and timeliness in completing each project! Our roof was completed in a day, siding projects in under a week. We have been completely satisfied with all projects and love the new updated looks of our properties! Of the two siding projects they have just completed one is here in town, but the second was up north at our cottage that they even did as well. We can’t say enough about Irish roofing and exteriors and highly recommend their work!
