  As a Realtor, I’ve referred this company before, but my own experience as a homeowner has been very disappointing. Strong Roofing replaced my 13-year-old roof in December after damage from last year’s hurricane, and they also installed an attic solar fan. Even though they were more expensive than other companies, I trusted them because I’ve known the owners for years and believed the higher price would mean better quality and service. My older roof never leaked — it just had to be replaced because of damage from the storm. I hired them to re-roof and install an attic solar fan. When the heavy rains started in July and August, the new roof began leaking around the solar fan they installed. I sent them a video showing exactly where the water was coming from. Chris came out and said it was fixed, but it leaked again during the next storm. Then Gabriel came, and he was excellent — professional, respectful, and clearly knew what he was doing. During his inspection, I could see that the previous contractor had left completely loose shingles around the solar fan. Gabriel fixed the problem, replaced the flashing, and personally told me he guarantees his work. It hasn’t rained heavily again since, so I’m hoping the issue is finally resolved. I asked Strong Roofing to pay for and send a mold assessor to evaluate my home and determine if remediation was needed, since the mold test they paid for showed higher mold levels inside (under the leak) than outside. They refused. I ended up paying $400 out of pocket to hire my own mold assessor to ensure the problem wasn’t spreading. To make things worse, I was told that their contract says they are not responsible for damages caused by leaks after installation — yet I was never given or signed a contract. I’ve repeatedly asked them to send me a copy of any signed agreement, and they’ve ignored my request — because they don’t have one.   Preface to say that when our metal roof was installed they were timely and efficient (to the tune of $42K+) that is the reason as well as the sincere attempts of Ben to repair that they earned a second star. Note: Less than 3 years later after the original installation some 4 panels on the roof are completely "different/discolored" compared to the rest thus all (myself, Ben and Sunshine Metal Supply rep, Sarasota) agreeing that different panels were used thus not only unsightly but raising the question "why" and compromising the original work performed. After raising the original complaint earlier this year (February ’25) and alas getting Ben to come out to inspect he agreed to the discoloration having claimed, "he had never seen that before"! After some tyme he brought it to the attention of Sunshine Metal Supply who supplied the metal roofing and coordinated a representative of theirs to come out with him and at first, after their inspection, they said it was because of a “repair” they had to do after the original install! This determination and explanation was completely false as the roof was done in its entirety upon our home purchase circa 11.2022 at one time! When I disputed that "excuse/dismissal" Ben agreed and we then explored other avenues of repair. Ben went to his boss, Trey, owner of Strong Roofing and explored remedies and "only" offered taking the discolored panels off (4 areas) and replacing them with "like colored" panels from the rear of the house and then putting the discolored panels on the rear of the house replacing the "like" panels now moved to the front and sides where needed (again 4 separate panels/areas). This of course was unacceptable (mind you a 40 year warranty on this roof and discoloration terms included!) as the problem wasn't solved it merely was "moved". When I rejected this solution and Ben followed up with Trey as we were left with only alternatives of legal pursuits Trey's reply was, "good luck with that...". It has been

  Despite being more expensive than other options, I chose to hire Strong Roofing based on a recommendation and the assurance of quality work provided by Mike's sales pitch. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet my expectations. Gabriel was unable to resolve one of the issues despite multiple attempts, and his actions actually made the problem worse. After I refused to allow Gabriel back onto my property and declined to continue working with Mike, the company subcontracted the work to another roofing company. A shouting match between Mike and me occurred on my property. Following a conversation with Trey, the owner, I was disappointed by his lack of apology for Mike's behavior and the overall dissatisfaction with the service. Notably, Trey is the administrator of the Sarasota Word of Mouth Facebook page, which highlights the importance of reputation and customer referrals. Unfortunately, my experience does not align with these values, and I would not recommend this company. I am left with a tile that does not match the rest of my roof and an overall poor work quality. Consequently, I have been forced to hire another company to address the issues. Every time it rains, I am anxious that the problem has not been adequately resolved, despite the substantial payment of almost $5,000. I am puzzled as to how they have maintained a 4.9-star rating on Google. I would caution others against using their services. Edited to add: Come to find out the issue is indeed not resolved, just as I was fearing. I still have a leak in my roof! Trey, the owner won’t return calls. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!

  Terrible. First, communication was not good. Office and field teams couldn’t coordinate and I had to call back several times and couldn’t get a return call. Second, shingles they patched with weren’t even close to the original and looks terrible. Of course can’t even get anyone on the phone to rectify. Use someone else!

  I highly recommend you avoid this company. They had to make some repairs to my Roof, due from Hurricane Milton. They charged me $1,200 for a maybe a half hour work. They just did sealing and no replacements of tiles. A rep. came out to my house to review and refused to send me pictures of before and after. They are unprofessional in handling customer needs and providing the information needed. The contract states the scope of the work to be done, they will tell you. But is absolutely price gouging due to homeowners who needed repairs from the Hurricane. I have the conversation fully recorded.

  Because of the great reviews, contacted Strong on November 19 to have them check out my roof. I was told I would be assigned a rep and that the rep would be in touch with me. Called again on November 29 and was again informed that I was assigned a rep and that they would contact me. Rep called on November 30 and stated that he was busy w/ hurricane work and that he would call back to set a date to inspect. Called Strong again on December 5 informing that I hadn't heard back from my rep regarding locking in a date. Was yet again informed that rep would be in touch. Rep called on December 6 and date was given for him to stop by my home. Called Strong again on December 12 asking for update, as I hadn't heard from my rep. Still no inspection. Rep called moments later stating how busy he was, and he wouldn't know when he'd get to me. I informed him to remove me off of his list as assurances were made and broken MULTIPLE times. He got extremely irate. If you are too busy to take on work, Strong, please don't accept new customers. Anyone in the area can acknowledge and respect that now is a busy time for roofers due to recent hurricanes BUT dragging customers along for nearly a month is not acceptable.

  This is the second time I have used this company for repair. I worked with Ben. He is an honest straight shooter. This second time around the leak turned out to be my air conditioner vents. Ben came out twice and did not charge me for the visits. To me, that is the pinnacle of quality customer service. I recommend them highly and be sure to ask for Ben.
