  Wish I could have received an estimate. Im a house manager and was trying to set up an estimate. The lady on the phone refused to set me up for a estimate unless I gave her the owners name and number. When I asked why she stated in case they dont pay. If we decided to use their services I could understand that but it was just an estimate. Very disappointed in how the lady on the phone handled this. She said I was JUST a house manager when I was tasked with finding a good roofing company to handle this project.

It sounds like there was a misunderstanding regarding our standard procedures. To clarify, we require the homeowner’s information before an estimate because we cannot ethically step onto a property or climb onto a roof without the owner’s direct authorization. We view this as a protection for the homeowner as most people wouldn't want a contractor on their roof without their explicit permission. We value the work of house managers and certainly didn't mean to imply otherwise. Our team member was likely trying to explain our authorization policy and unfortunately missed the mark in their delivery. We’d love the chance to make this right and provide that estimate for you.   Steve- Repairing a slate roof is not an easy task and we are always looking for more technicians that have the skills and experience to do it properly.   Terrible experience. We went with star roofing after family recommendation. Our roof was replaced April 16 of this year. I questioned the skill of the team who showed up to perform the job, but remained hopeful. Not even 3 months later the eves from our roof were hanging off following a mildly windy day. Star did come to remediate this thankfully, but given this was not even 3 months later, I further questioned their workmanship. Two days ago after mild rain, we noticed a leak in our ceiling. After Star came to analyze the situation, they placed blame on our HVAC pipe wiggling out of place. This pipe connects directly to our exterior vents which Star replaced in April. My husband and I are paying a third party to now remediate this. As we value honesty and integrity, we will not be using or recommending Star in the future. Very unfortunate.

  I think you may have the wrong company. We only installed 12 shingle roofs in January and this jobsite nor instance does not sound familiar to our shingle roofing project manager. Your name is also not in our system. There are two other companies in the area with Star in their name. Please call the office at 518-449-3422 to go over. We are very interested in hearing from you.

  Hopefully their work product is better than their driving skills. Truck #12 on 787 yesterday needs to learn the proper way to turn signal and how to follow the posted speed limit. This isn’t the first instance of seeing drivers exercising poor caution on the roadway. Hopefully a good safety talk can help correct these issues.

  The owner parked his car in the middle of the intersection of south swan and madison in Albany going through a light and blocked traffic 3 ways for 4 lights. He left morethan a car length in fron of him and cars could have pased but he was downright ignorant.

  FRAUDULENT COMPANY RIPS OFF SENIOR CITIZENS!! CHARGES FOR WORK NOT DONE, WHICH CREATES EXTENSIVE DAMAGE!!! My grandfather, at age 66, had his roof done by Star roofing in 2002. He paid extra for a 40 year shingle. The contract clearly states that the ridge was to be cut to for the vent.I went up on the roof, now 17 years later, to replace some skylights and investigate a leak and ended up putting my foot right through the roof. On further inspection under the ridge vent I noticed that not only was the ridge not cut, it was covered with felt paper and shingles creating an airtight seal. This trapped moisture which caused the plywood, rafters and ridge beam to rot. There is white, black, green, and yellow mold all over the place. There are leaks and mold coming through the ceiling drywall. 90 percent of the shingles have the nails blown through the shingles due to incorrect nailing, which is also causing leaks. My grandfather, now 83, needs a new roof and structural repairs, 17 years into a 40 year roof due to fraud committed by this company. I called to complain, and got to talk to "Don" who seemed irate that my now 84 year old grandfather wasnt the one calling to complain (so he be scammed again?) Don had nothing but bogus excuses such as there is a 5 year workmanship guaranty, he doesnt know what work has been done, someone could have shoved in insulation, etc. This isnt about workmanship, it is about work that was charged for and knowingly not done. This is FRAUD, a crime is still a crime even years later. Don didnt want pictures and needed to find a "paper" to get back to me on the the problem, which never happened. Clearly this company hasnt gotten any better with age. I called Owens & Corning as Star Roofing is a Preferred Contractor, which is why they were used, Owens & Corning Preferred Contractor, they now have an open investigation into this shady company.

  Star roofing did a fantastic job on our roof. The crew showed up bright and early and started right in on shingle and plywood removal. They were courteous and friendly and very up front about any challenges they faced. When they were done the foreman went over everything that had been done and had pictures to show us. The dumpster was gone the next morning. All in all a positive experience!

  Star Roofing installed my new roof and skylight. The process was explained well beforehand. The crew arrived on time and completed installation and cleanup in a day. An inspection was done next business day and then a call to be sure all was good. The roof looks great!

  I have to share that I had the most wonderful experience working with Star roofing. We had a leak in our living room. I had spoken with a few different companies and they were the only ones who invested the time in explaining things and respected that I had done my homework. It was wonderful meeting each acquaintance. I was so grateful that they were able to come and replace our entire roof at a fair affordable cost. They completed the job and the cleanup afterwards was very thorough and greatly appreciated. From the interactions with everyone in the office to the incredibly hard workers that were up on our roof on that hot summer day I cannot say enough how much I thank them and their professionalism and kindness. Star roofing definitely goes above and beyond. And if you're lucky you might get a curtsy. 😉

  Star Roofing is a great company. They show up when they promise. They updated me on schedule changes with ample time to rearrange my schedule. When they are finished, they cleanup, and follow up. I realize all this takes a dedicated effort from a staff that is committed to both the company and the client.

  We had a great experience with Star Roofing! We had our entire garage roof replaced. Brandon was quick to respond and very knowledgeable when he came for the estimate. Tom and the workers were very efficient and worked diligently the whole time. The garage looks fantastic and the property was cleaner than when they started. Overall we are thrilled with Star Roofing, they made it seem so easy from start to finish...Kudos!

  This was our third installation of a new roof/repair with Star, this one for our back slope. This experience was great! We were walked through the entire process before the installation. We also need a repair on the front slope for an issue that occurred when a gutter installation company's work caused a leak on the front slope. The additional price quoted was also very reasonable. I highly recommend Star Roofing.
