  Southern Roofing has their guys out canvasing in my neighborhood, but I have a sign that says no soliciting. These guys are on my doorbell reading the sign, talking about it, but still proceed to try and engage. It's one thing to stick your card in the door and keep it cruising, but to actively disregard it means I will never choose your company for business. I threw the card away.

  Please do not use Southern Roofing. We were contacted by Michael Smith in March, 2025. He started the process with our insurance company to get a new roof. Southern kept going back and trying to get our insurance company to pay more …

For your project, our team worked directly with your insurance carrier to ensure all approved scope items were properly documented and completed. The discussion regarding an upgraded roofing system occurred only after your carrier declined to extend coverage beyond the approved scope, and any upgrade options were presented as voluntary. Our records show that the area you referenced was inspected, and the installation was confirmed to meet manufacturer specifications. Your previous roofing system did not include drip edge, while your new system does, which can create a visual difference along the roofline. That said, we never want a homeowner to feel unheard.   I had someone from Southern Roofing & Renovations come out and check my gutters for possible repair or replacement. I was told that I would get an estimate by noon the next day. I never got it. I called a couple of days later and was told someone would contact me the next morning. I never heard back at all. Completely ghosted.

  I had them come out and replace a couple damaged roof vents. My shingls are black and they replaced the shingls around the vents with a dark grey. Looks like shit. How hard is it to match up a black shingle??? When my wife complained about it, she was told it was due to fading. That is nothing but crap. They will never be called again.

Our records show the roof repair was completed about a year ago. Shingle color variations can sometimes become more noticeable over time due to normal weathering and fading of the existing roof.   I would have put a better review had they not swindled me out of an additional $3000. The initial quote for anything extra outside of my insurance was $1900, that's what I signed the contract for. They went back to my insurance and haggled them up to $4700. Be careful with this company, you'll lose money, and you won't even have the professionalism to go with it. I've been finding roofing nails all over my yard! (which they said they would "scan" for) thankfully none of my kids have stepped on any. When I first started the project, I had one contractor, and then he left and I wasn't notified of ANYTHING going on with the project...when the money was due, when I would get my paperwork...nothing. I literally had to text the man, just to be told he left the company and I should contact "so 'n so" about what was going on because "he thought it had all been handled". Then I was tossed around some more...at which point they made it abundantly clear that they had no idea what they were doing and were still able to nab me for extra money.... they're a crap company and if I could leave less than 1 star, I would.

  Southern Roofing and Renovations (SRR) broke the law and stole my money. SRR broke the law by illegally depositing my $64k insurance check for damage repairs into their bank account without approval or endorsement from my mortgage company, who was designated as a payee on the check and required by law to endorse. This action prevented my mortgage company from maintaining oversight of repairs and metering funds only when repairs were complete and inspected by a 3rd party. 100 year oak tree smashed my house. Someone on my street recommended a roofer. This roofer said they were also a "contractor". SRR installed a faulty roof on my home (which leaks) and omitted all soffit and whirly bird venting that previously existed. They also used ridge shingle materials below the standard required by my insurance company. Over a year later, the roof had not been fixed and no other home repairs had completed. Upon requesting to terminate the contract, which stated a max penalty of 2k, SRR pocketed egregious profits 20-30% higher than they quoted my insurance and approximately 10k in personal "commissions" for several employees. The owner of SRR was given multiple chances to make this right, but chose not to take action. Proof that SRR committed fraud is attached. On the front of the check, you will see the 3 payees listed: myself, SRR, and my mortgage company. On the back, you will notice there is only endorsement from myself and SRR - twice, but not my mortgage company. Beware.

  Let me start by saying the work itself is not that bad but you can get equal work elsewhere. I am still finding nails almost half a year later around the yard, but i will take the fault on that. You should always double check any contractors work, literally any of them. So at the very minimal get an inspection from someone else that includes all you previous customers. They may seem nice to you but there is shady stuff behind the scenes. I am sure its just a higher up thing. Just rather not deal with a company like that, yes it happens everywhere but just wanted to let it be known. If you use them, keep track of all money with insurance and let insurance clarify the breakdown, just don't go by the contractors word. There are cases where you are owed money by insurance depending on your dwelling coverage situation, pay attention to this. Contractors will never tell you and pocket as much as possible whether its a little or a lot of money. Attached pictures recently still finding nails and finding out they nailed stuff that should have been screwed in. I guarantee all previous work they have done looks like this. Its just most homeowners don't care or don't know.

  I wanted to take a moment to recognize an exceptional employee, Alex Dunn. Alex got involved several weeks ago after I reached out to have our roof assessed following water intrusion caused by an ice storm that created ice dams. He responded quickly, came out to assess the situation, and worked efficiently with his leadership team to develop a solution that worked well for us. Throughout the entire process, Alex went above and beyond in his communication—keeping us informed every step of the way—and was even on site during the installation of our new roof. He remained highly attentive to all of our concerns and made sure they were addressed. It’s clear that Alex is a very valuable asset to the organization and sets a strong example of what great customer service and accountability should look like. He completely turned around our experience and seems to be making a meaningful impact on the culture of the organization. I must also give glory to God for this experience. I believe He brought Alex into the situation at just the right time. It was nothing short of miraculous.

  My insurance agent was singing your praises! She was so impressed with the thorough proposal you presented! She said no one else has gone to the trouble to send both pictures of the sample repair, much less a video! She was truly impressed with your professionalism and knowledge. I told her how blessed I felt that Southern Roofing was recommended and I, too, have been impressed with both Joseph Foster and Hayden Wyatt. They truly showed care for customer satisfaction!   Jon Cassatta and Khristian Harrell of Southern Roofing did an amazing job on my roof! From start to finish they were professional, efficient, and respectful of my property.
