Left several pages of trash advertising their business littered across my porch. I don't need a new roof and I also didn't need to have to clean up after your sales guy. Tell Bill Bowlin to learn some respect for other's properties. …

We appreciate you taking time out of your day to give us such a productive and insightful review. If you give our office a call we can have someone swing by and “clean up” anything you feel that we have left by mistake. Professional we are sir, you should talk to one of the over 11,000 extremely happy customers we have help. Respectful YOU are not, and we will defend our companies reputation against this 1 star review simply based on the disrespectful language you have used. In contrast, we have 1000’s of 5 star reviews from customers homes we have improved in the last 19 years.

I had a full roof replaced at my mother’s home on 4/7 by Masters Roofing. Up until a certain point, everything was proceeding as expected and was satisfied with the communications and coordination. However, things took an unexpected turn when I received a phone call from the owner about a minor paint request as part of the fascia replacement. Prior to the call, I worked exclusively with the foreman or salesperson to address any scheduling or project concerns. For this specific paint issue, the foreman had agreed to take care of my request but only after the roof installation was completed. After exchanging text messages, the work was scheduled for 4/16, but no one showed up that day nor did I receive any communications explaining the reason for the no-show. The next morning, the owner contacted me directly and, for 35 minutes, berated and lectured me about various unrelated matters not to mention throwing in additional costs. The unexpected cost didn’t bother me in the whole scheme of things but the conversation turning unprofessional was extremely disappointing especially for such a minor ask. Later that afternoon, I reached out to the salesperson and cancelled any additional work I planned with the company. Even after that, I never received a follow up call from the company or owner regarding my changes or even a simple apology. For me personally, I couldn’t in good conscience recommend them to my friends and family especially with so many other options in our area. The rating is not based on the technical merits of their roofing work or crew but the holistic experience with the company and owner. I hope this feedback provides improvements to their communications and a better experience for their next customer.

Update: I’m just seeing a response from the company, but this proves my point. You can respond to a negative review but no apology was given. The change of product was not communicated to the paying customer when the service was rendered. Maybe the representative should clarify that when setting up services. I am not a roofer so I don’t know the difference.….I stand on my review below. I was so excited to get my new roof installed by Master Roofing. Our rep was Ed, on the phone he was so informative & had a quick response. BUT that was short lived, our roof was a one day job. Workers came out did the work….this is where it gets crazy; on the back end of our home for some reason they decided to put another type of roofing than the front without consulting with myself or my husband. At first Ed said the guys ran out of material and decided to put commercial roofing on our home, which looking like a big white box on top of our all brown roof. It was a huge eye sore! When my husband & I disapproved Ed said he and the field manager decided instead of doing the entire roof in residential roofing they wanted to “up grade” us… we let him know that’s not what we asked for give us what we ordered, Ed then said he no longer wants to talk about this and walked away from us. We overheard the manager speaking poorly about us because we were checking on the roofing job, they weren’t expecting my husband to get on the roof and notice the plastic they put on the rood not nailed down properly, left nails in our yard and drive-way. Eventually they came back to correctly finish the job. Now if you want a nice roof with poor communication, disrespect and maybe get something you didn’t request…..Call Master Roofing!

The homeowner states "This is where it gets crazy"? We have been in business for a long time, over 10,000 roofs in Memphis alone, and try to be as attentive and responsive to every single customer's feedback as we possibly can. What bothers me on occasion is the lack of understanding regarding flat roofs and materials needed for these applications and the liability (to homeowner and contractor) associated with installing the wrong type of roofing for a particular application. This project had a small shed that was attached to the home (see homeowner photos) added after the home was built and had less than a 1 degree pitch. If you are reading this review we would like to help people understand the difference between materials they are not familiar with and the reasons these materials are installed. The "white plastic" that the homeowner is referring to is called TPO (A rubber membrane) and it is not only specifically designed for flat roofs because of its life expectancy and waterproofing capabilities but it is also a much more expensive installation than shingles. A shingle roof should not be installed on a roof with a slope of 2:12 or less, this shed was less than 1. A TPO roof cost's significantly more for the contractor to install and is more time consuming than a shingle roof. Please understand that our company cuts ZERO corners and will always go above and beyond for our customers and their homes. If we install shingles on a low slope roof and it leaks in 6 months because it was not the correct installation who is liable, we are. A 2 star review for doing the correct thing and spending more time and money on this home to do the work correctly is very frustrating for us. I do not normally vent my frustrations on this forum and we always encourage criticism so we can become a better company but this is an exception because we actually went above and beyond to give this customer a better product at no additional cost and because they do not understand the produ

Extremely rude and unprofessional. Did not clean up after the roof installation and threatened to get money "one way or another". Would not recommend if professionalism is what you're looking for after paying thousands of dollars.

Beautiful roof, Beautiful installation. This homeowner is upset because we did not "clean" her attic. This was not only addressed in detail before the install but it is also plainly on the contract.

This review is for Master Roofing in Bellevue, WA. NOT our company in Bartlett, TN. This gentleman lives in Bellevue, leaves his reviews for Bellevue businesses, the Master Roofing business in Bellevue, WA also states that they are temporarily closed which would probably explain the no call back as well and yet I have contacted Google multiple times now to follow up on this and they have said the review "does not violate their policies" It's not the policy that is incorrect, it's a review for the wrong business in the wrong state? I have found it impossible to speak to an actual person at Google which is astounding in it's own right. This is hurting our businesses reputation and the review is not even for our company. Please, ANYONE at Google take 5 min out of your day and follow up with the reviewer regarding where he actually meant to file this review.

Not very professional. Asked for payment without an invoice or pictures of the work performed. I had to request for an invoice and pictures before paying. The receptionist was very nice but they need better business practices. Extremely sloopy.

Please help me understand a little better your problem with our company? When we contract to do a project we go over every step with each homeowner, like we have done literally for over 10,000 customers in Memphis. The customer signs a contract stating price and scope of work. The work is then performed for the contract amount, on time and correctly. This customer then requests something additional from our office, which we supply, on the first request and in a professional and polite manner, and…. We get a 1 star review? I encourage anyone reading this post to head over to Ms. Walkers other reviews and take a look at her opinion regarding many, many other businesses. Burger King: “no jelly” 1-star Burger King: “always friendly” 3-star Henderson Florida: “very professional” 3-star Marcos pizza: “good service” 3-star KFC: “very good customer service, not a long wait” 3-star (She’s seems like a tough customer to make happy for a significant number of businesses) When we, as a company, are wrong, we acknowledge the problem and work tirelessly to make it right and to always be better. In this instance we did absolutely nothing wrong. Always appreciate productive feedback.

Five years ago, I paid Masters $7,000 to paint and replace rotten wood on my house. Now that I’m trying to sell my home, I’m having to hire someone to replace their work. My house is peeling all over again and some of the wood they’ve replaced has already begun to fall apart. Don’t recommend. Save your money.

We are so very pleased with this company, with their people, their service and their professionalism. They walked us through every step needed and they kept us informed daily on what would be happening and when. Their crews are fantastic. We had need of a roof and gutters. They took care of everything; their cleanup was great; their people worked until they got it all done, and nothing was left to chance. These people are the best to work with. We are so proud of our new look. The Collins Family

We just had a roof put on by Master Roofing and Ed Hill. Ed guided us through the entire process from shingle selection and attic vents to the install. We also had our gutters replaced. It looks fantastic and we couldn’t be happier. We also appreciated the one day take off and install. Please call Ed and see how he can help you. He is low key and gives great advice.

I highly recommend Masters Roofing for their services based on my very positive experience with them this summer during my insurance claim process for a complete roof replacement and interior repairs due to wind/hail damage. Bill, the sales consultant, patiently explained and helped me to understand all aspects of their contractor’s agreement, policies & procedures and what to expect in the claims process, and established a “good faith”relationship. Ashley (office manager) was always cheerful, courteous, accommodating and efficient. The workers (roofers & painters) were professional, arriving according to schedule and working diligently in 90 degree temperatures to complete the job. They cleaned up all the debris, leaving the property as it was before they started the work but with a new roof on my home and interior restoration that passed all required inspections. They truly earned their reputation and name as “master roof[ers]” and exceeded my expectations for getting a safe, and “seamless” installation. Thank you, Masters Roofing!

There couldn't be a better roofing company or nicer group of people to work with! Ed Hill explained every aspect of their first-rate installation and the state-of-the-art materials they use, so I knew what to expect. I knew from their checklist how to prepare the house. The job was entirely completed in a day's time. I love the color and the roof vents are already making a difference in the attic, which for the first time ever no longer has a thermal trap. When they left, there was no trash left; not one shingle from the old roof and not one nail. They were courteous, respectful and mindful of other projects I've recently completed including protecting the new landscaping and new brick walkways. They also worked with my insurance adjuster, answering questions and providing documentation immediately on request. Overall, this company is extremely responsive to calls and texts. The roof looks amazing and they could not have done a more perfect job!
