  Hi Trudy, we’re sorry to hear about your concerns. Based on the age of the roof installing multiple layers was permitted by local building codes at the time the work was completed. The decision to install an additional layer was also a common option requested by homeowners as a cost saving alternative to a full tear off. Building codes and industry standards have changed over the years and what may not be permitted today was often acceptable when older roofs were installed.   Edited. We purchased the home from someone who used Sheriff Goslin and the roof gave out in a few years. Sadly the neighbors had the same issue. Product is awful but i cant speak to the actual work. Just dont use the "patented" shingle Low quality product that gives out quickly. Stay away

Back 18 years ago that roof came with a 20 year non transferable prorated shingle warranty along with a 10 year transferable no leak guarantee from our company.This means you are past the 10 year guarantee time period and the 20 year warranty does not transfer over to you.   Sherriff Goslin takes advantage of the elderly in the more economically depressed areas of South Bend. They talk a good talk but deliver next to nothing. Potential customers need to look up this company on Indiana's court case website before entering into a deal with them. Can you imagine being a disabled 88 year old retiree who finds themselves on the other end of a lawsuit for the failures of a company to stand behind their product, their warranty, and their workmanship. Don't be fooled by their sales reps - the company prey on the disadvantaged. If I could have posted with zero stars, I would have.

  They were the worst company I have ever dealt with, and I was scammed by them twice. We purchased a roof from them which started leaking within a few years. Whenever we called them out to repair, they would say it was our skylight...we would re caulk them and the roof would leak the next rain. We played this back and forth until the warranty expired. When the warranty expired, they happily took out our skylight and charged us for more shingles and repair of damaged area. It leaked in the same exact place after the repair (think downpour) and without our skylight which was promised to be the whole issue. We had them out many times (5 or 6 and each time it rained ) and they would assure us that “this” time it would be fixed. This went on until they didn’t want to deal with it and knew we we had a good case to sue them and then they just returned our money! I wouldn’t use them to roof anything!

  I am sorry you feel the need to write such a slanderous review we have promptly responded anytime you had called well after your guarantee expired. When you’re guarantee was years over the ten-year time period You paid us to remove your old skylight fill in the hole replace the underlayment and shingles in that area. When the roof leaked months after that we offered to refund the money for the repair or to tear off and reroof that section of roof for just the cost of the shingles you chose to get the repair money back so this is what we did that is the last time we had heard from you until this review please contact me we can still reroof that section as we previously offered. We do not want unhappy customers .

  Sherriff Goslin did a wonderful job putting up a new gutter and down spout after weather pulled my previous one down. Jamie A. was quick to respond and come out to give me an estimate and set up having the new one installed. The guys who came out for install were so efficient and it took them no time to finish the job. When they were done they loaded up the old gutter and down spout, made sure I was happy, and left like they had never been there. After the job Jamie A. gave me a courtesy call to make sure I approved. The new gutter and down spout look great and I am so impressed. I would recommend Sherriff Goslin to any one.

  My brand new roof looks awesome, went with the Art Loc shingle and it really makes my homes exterior pop. Tom, Justin and Austin were all easy to work with and put me first. They went toe to toe with the insurance company and it all worked out the way it was supposed too. Would definitely use these guys again!

  Our house is a new construction. The roof was not installed by Sherriff Gosling Roofing and continues to have numerous issue. Mike has installed roofs on a previous home, and many friends homes. He is always willing to come out to our new house and fix other people’s flawed workmanship. SGR is the only roofer I will use in the future.

  Made a call to the office for some storm repair to my home roof. Bobby called very soon after that, just like the office said he would. We met at my home and Bobby took great care of our problem. Very professional, very knowledgeable, hell of a nice guy. I highly recommend them.

  Really nice work! High quality and comes with a 10 year warranty Total cost was close to the quote, still it was very expensive. So, I was disappointed when I saw the flashing for the chimney was left undone. But they did come out to finish it the following week. Overall, great company, just be sure to check their work
