  First I notice the wording of the review from 10 yrs ago has changed and I cant find my original reply either. So, Ill reply on each point to your review ..No one " cheated you" on the shingles! When I set crew up I counted proper amount of shingles and correct color, I didnt notice the ABC Supply had incorrectly delivered 20yr shingles instead or 25yr. At 11 oclock My foreman called and said Mrs Warfield was out looking at material on the ground double checking or whatever,I dont know. We now know she discovered ABCs mistake but informed No one on the crew nor called to inform me of this oversite that could have been quickly corrected by ABC Supply to include replacing the 7 bundles of shingles that had already been installed. Apon my return at end of day she Then informed me, I offered refund for differnce on material, and she declined stating she still wanted the 25yr shingles. So we came to an agreement I would have All new material to redo roof on her property inside 24 hours( which I did) and that I would return at a later date after the holidays to redo the roof. Before that time line was up they took me to court. I DID go to court but No fault but my own was 10 mins late and missed the ruling. Apon realizing they had lied to the Magistrate and had sued for the $1500+ of material that was already on thier property! I dont like being stolen from! and when Mr Warfield accosted me in advance Auto Parts store,a month later, I mentioned said material ,and his reply was " I dont care about the material,I want my money!" I knew then that I couldnt return to that property without fear of futher conflict to my crew or myself, My last offer was hire someone to redo the roof and Id either pay said roofer directly or invoice from Mr Warfield..He declined. So 16 yrs after original installation,not only did they not replace the roof, it has survived 4 hurricanes! so it wasnt "destoyed" because of workmanship,its Still there!   I contracted Barnes to put on a new roof in May 2022 because I had multiple leaks. After he installed the new roof, it leaked the first rain and several rains thereafter in the same areas that the old roof leaked. To his credit, he did come out to fix leaks but eventually it would leak again in several areas. Frustrated that Barnes would not come out immediately after a substantial new leak, I called another roofer in May 2024. The roofer was appalled at the roof installation and advised me to get it replaced. After three roofing companies and one general contractor advised me to replace the roof immediately (before structural damage was done), I proceeded to do just that. Even more disturbing is what was found underneath the roof Barnes put on in May 2022. Please see the sample of pictures below. Official NC roof inspection indicated the following: no starter shingles, old pipe boots, top portion of roof missing ridge vent, incorrect apron flashing, no drip edge, shingles not layered and incorrectly installed, uneven hangover AND to top it all, he left rotted wood underneath!

  I contacted Mr Barnes for some roof work on my 1963 house. It had original 3/8 plywood long past it's lifespan. Bill and his crew did and amazing clean and professional job in a long 14 hour day. Only regret I have is not contacting him sooner. Exceptionally reasonable price, very honest business man and great crew. If you need some roofing work or any other repairs done, give Mr Barnes and his crew a call, you won't be sorry. Thanks again for eveything, Bill Veator

After dealing with damage on my property, Mr. Barnes personally came out with his team, climbed the roof to assess the real issues, and provided a fair, honest quote that beat out the big corporate "storm chasers."
