  We hired Seattle Skylights / Roof Boss / Metropolitan Construction because they were listed as Velux Certified Skylight Specialists. For structural skylight cut-ins, we expected specialists who understood permits, engineering, and code compliance. This was our worst contractor experience. A job represented as 10 to 12 working days dragged from August 2025 to April 2026. It only reached completion after months of us catching problems, demanding permits and engineering documentation, stopping premature drywall scheduling, disputing improper charges, and chasing close-out documents. They performed structural work before we were provided permits or engineer-stamped documentation. Their contract said the work would be done to code. Cutting manufactured trusses for skylights requires engineering, permits, and inspection. When we raised the lack of permits over the phone, we were told we had not specifically asked for permits, and that the salesperson should not have included “to code” language in the contract. That was shocking from a company selling itself as a skylight specialist. After the original install, we inspected the attic ourselves and found cut truss members that appeared to be hanging or not properly attached, no visible hangers, large gaps, odd scrap-like framing, and no clear reinforcement. We had to demand permit paperwork, an inspection path, and engineer documentation that should have existed before work began. The insulation was wrong initially. The contract referenced R-40 insulation, but they first installed rough R-13 insulation that looked temporary and poorly fitted. We only got that corrected after pushing back. Even after engineer-stamped details were produced, their crew came back and still did not follow them. We found wrong hardware, missing vertical members, inconsistent fastening, hardware attached on only one face in some locations, and fasteners that did not match the engineered requirements.   I was clear with the team that flashing needed to overhang more than usual so that I’d have enough of it to cover the fascia boards I’d planned to add within the next 1-2 years when i replaced the gutters. When I went to replace my gutters, add fascia, and close the soffit with a different company they informed me the flashing Metropolitan roofing installed did not have enough overhang to properly cover the fasica they’d added. So, they had to add more flashing around the perimeter Of the house. The initially charged me $2k for this but I was able to get them to reduce by 50% to $1k. I asked repeatedly for Metropolitan roofing to cover this expense by either reimbursing me or paying it directly to the gutter place. Initially, I heard back from someone at the front desk but then it never went anywhere after that. So, I was out $1k extra for their mistake. I’d love it if they made this right finally.

  Worst roofing company, beyond rude & unprofessional. Extremely loud & to top it put over 16 holes in my ceiling from a roofing job. Broke the mirror off my wall from how rough they are ! Do not hire them at all. My ceiling should not have holes from a roofing job, I shouldn’t be able to see the workers through holes in my ceiling & I definitely don’t have the wrong company

  After a tree fell on my roof, I contacted Metroplitan Roofing to get a roof inspection. Rich said he would come look at it that week by Friday. I never heard any more from him by the end of the next week, so I followed up. He said he'd been in a fender bender and that he would come by the next day at 9:00am. Again, I heard nothing, and I am not looking for another roofer. Rich, if you can't keep our appointments, you could at least let me know and stop wasting my time.

  We just had Roof Boss replaced our old roof and they did an excellent job; efficient and the workers are very professional, on time. and know what they're doing. We had several estimators came and inspect our property and gave us their estimate. My husband showed the estimators the extend of the work we need and I talked to them about their plan and price and knowledge of the products they're using. We did not only go with the lowest bid but the total package of how they do their job. Eric O'Neal was the estimator sent by their office. Eric is very knowledgeable of what their company is doing and the products they're using, compare with the other brands. Eric communicates well and explained to me in simple way what and how the work will be done. overall, I highly recommend them. Just a tip - don't go with just the lowest bidder, go with the all around knowledge, pricing, and quality of jobs they did and as a woman - your gut will tell you if they're honest in what they're presenting to you.

  My roof and gutters (house, garage, and garden shed) were recently replaced by Roof Boss. I've had the house for 25 years and never upgraded. My excellent experience with this company started with Chris, the sale representative who clearly knows roofing inside and out. He immediately responded to my numerous questions and was patient and educated me. The roof crew, led by Sergio, was fantastic and completed the roof in 3 1/2 days despite the many layers of old shingles they had to remove. The roof crew was efficient and worked as a cohesive team; they are physically strong, focused, and polite. Raven, the gutter guy, recommended a cream color gutter rather than the white I originally picked. What a wise suggestion. He did a fantastic job! I am very pleased and highly recommend Ross Boss. Now, I need a house painter! :)

  They team was very professional. The took the time to do my roof correctly. Im the kind of person the watches and gets on the roof to see what's going on and they exceeded my expectations. They repaired things that I didn't know was an issue. They did a great job cleaning up when they finished. I would recommend Roof Boss to everyone. The price is paid was very competitive.   We could not be happier with the work that Roof Boss did. They installed a 2000 sqft Metal Roof and 21 Skylights. Three 5-wide skylights and 2 sun tunnels. Manuel and Garcia, the install leads were fantastic, friendly, great communicators, on-time, and did superb work. The operations team, Clint, Charmayne and Gwen were very responsive, very flexible with timeline, and provided a competitive price point for all the work. We have worked with this team on four projects now, and have zero reasons to work with anyone else for any skylight or roofing needs. I almost forgot drywall. They're master drywallers too. The drywall and paint job around the skylights was perfect and smooth, just what we wanted. Oh, and we also had 6" gutters installed. Again, great price, great interactions with the team.

  We were very impressed with the processes in place to provide an assessment of work needed, providing an estimate for proposed work, scheduling the work, and completing the work, accompanied by photos at the beginning and end of the project. In our case, we were pleased to hear that we did not need a new roof on our large house for at least 3 more years. This contradicted another roofing company's evaluation that a new roof was needed this year! Instead, we did a " tune up" for a fraction of the cost of a new roof and it may extend the life of our roof for even longer. Very professional operation at all levels. When we do need a new roof, we'll be back!

  The initial visit with the inspector was positive. He quickly assessed my roof leak and explained the fix and cost estimate. The workers that came to do the job were competent and efficient and came with the correct materials for the repair. I had some issues with the office staff in this case. I had to continually leave messages to.ask when the workers would show up to.do the repairs. No reply. After the initial contact I never got a call or email as to exactly when they would be on the job. Luckily I was home when they showed up and it was a surprise!

  We recently re roofed our house and garage with a dark gray metal roof from the bid was about the same as one of the high bids we received but they formed the metal on sight let us know when they were coming and came when they said. There was an issue with the garage gable end that they helped me resolve so we could get a continuous metal panel run. They were so knowledgeable and help me with the work. The crew worked as a team and cleaned the sight when they were done
