I did not have any work done- this review is specific to their total lack of communication and follow up. We literally live across the street from this business and could not get returned calls nor an estimate. After numerous calls and …

I contacted MLK roofers to help find a small leak in my roof. They couldn’t find the leak, so instead they repeatedly tried to pressure me into replacing my entire roof. Another contractor and I have found where the leak is and are working …

Please accept my apologies if my previous communication lacked clarity. I had assumed that some of this information was discussed during your meeting with Brian. Unfortunately, due to a roof coating that has been applied over the existing seams of your TPO roof, we are unable to properly assess and make targeted repairs for any underlying defects. This coating essentially renders the existing roof system unrepairable in the traditional sense. During our inspection, we did not observe any obvious holes in the roofing system. We noted that the roof has approximately 2.5 inches of roofing material, which equates to roughly ten layers. Current building codes typically permit a maximum of two to three layers of roofing. Considering the existing coating and the excessive number of layers, a full replacement of your roofing system is the only viable solution we can offer at this time.

One of their trucks were driving crazy down Jefferson Ave. Absolutely no care or consideration of anyone else’s safety on the road.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention and I apologize with the tardiness of our response. We did act swiftly though to remove that driver from the company. We apologize for any issues this may have caused you.

Please avoid at all costs! I chose this company based upon reviews which were false. I hired the company to fix a dip in my roof which was causing a leak. The original guy who was assigned to my house ended up not being with the company …

I requested an estimate for a flat roof in Nov. 2020. I received a reply requesting additional information on the job and promptly replied to the email. Kim noted that they are running "7-10 days to come out and do the inspection". It's May of 2021 and I've yet to hear anything from them.

I’ve called twice for an estimate, never got a return phone call. I will just take my business somewhere else.

I apologize that we were not available for you when you called to request a free estimate. Unfortunately, in our line of business, when there’s inclement weather, we experience unusually high call volume and we truly do our best to return calls as soon as we are available, and everyone does get a call back. MLK Construction is a small family business and all customers are extremely important to us! We want everyone to feel valued and we are doing our best to meet the Covid-19 challenges of working remotely from home with minimal staff and managing kids, school, and life while keeping everyone safe and healthy as best we can. Please note we also offer estimate requests via our website at https://stlroofingcompany.com/ in the event we are not readily available by phone.

Were to busy to even come out and look at a repair that was needed, not worth their time according to person that answered the phone at the office. Actually asked the question, "so, you don't want to look at it because its not worth it because its just a downspout, ok then"

  Reply from the business

Dear Matthew Scrogham, I want to thank you for sharing your feedback. My companies mission statement is to provide an exquisite customer experience every time. I set a high standard myself and my employees, and we’re so sorry to hear this was not met, in your interaction with our business. We make every effort to set accurate expectations, from the very first contact. If when we provided our minimum pricing and timeframes, with the intent on providing a good experience, we gave you the wrong impression, that was not our intent. I apologize on behalf of everyone at MLK Construction, LLC. Please know, that your situation was an exception. As you can see on other reviews, we are known for caring deeply about our customers. You have my personal commitment to improve the way our staff serves every customer. Until then, please accept my sincerest apologies on behalf of everyone on the team. Please feel free reach out to me, Matthew Kettner – Owner, with any further comments, concerns, or suggestions you wish to share. We would love to make things right if you give us another chance.

We have used MLK for 3 or 4 projects on our historic home (built in 1878). They will be our first call for any exterior renovations or repairs. On the most recent project, they put on a new pitched roof, sealed all of our windows, rebuilt our ornamental fascia and corbels , and repainted our entire home (windows, doors, trim, etc.). They were prompt and reasonably priced. The team that completed the job were great.

From estimate to project completion, MLK delivered exceptional service. Communication and process transparency were excellent. They worked with my insurance company to a positive claim outcome. The crew members throughout the project were professional, friendly, communicative, consistent, and detail oriented. We have a very complicated roof, and MLK was able to install a new roof, while correcting/repairing issues from the old roof. The new roof is absolutely beautiful!

Loving our new roof! Matt was super responsive and came out quickly to give us an estimate. His price was competitive and the work they did looks great! The turn around time to get on their schedule was about 2 weeks, which isn't bad considering all the storms we've had in STL and everyone needing roof work done. His team finished in a day and did an immaculate job with the cleanup. Matt provided me with more than enough photos for me to submit to my insurance company for my claim and I also just appreciated being able to see the work they did since I don't go up on the roof myself. I would highly recommend MLK for your new roof!

The only company I will trust with roofing and all other services they provide. I had water coming in to an upstairs interior window heading, 2nd floor, off the back of my flat roof. For years, various companies claimed they knew the cause, and I paid for every fix - none of them worked beyond a few months or a season. Turns out they were all a waste of money. Only MLK Construction got to the root cause of it. Beyond grateful for their knowledge, attention to detail, and to finally have this constant stressor out of my life!

MLK CONSTRUCTION, LLC were very professional, communicated well with us, did properly all the work needed on our flat roof, according to our contract, and cleaned up very well after they finished their work. The three workers, Alex, Cale and Will were courteous and thorough in their work. Affordable pricing. We recommend them highly.

I am extremely happy and beyond impressed with the service I received from MLK Roofing & Construction. They were very considerate of my situation, prompt in their communication and responses, and very knowledgeable about the job it self. They kept me informed about repairs and let me know exactly what was going on with the roof on my building. I appreciate the way they handled the job from the point of contact until the very end when the job was complete. I highly recommend their service and will be using them exclusively for our roofing and construction needs.

As a real estate agent I have used MLK Roofing for my clients roofs and am currently working with them as well for my own. They show up when they say they will and they do what say they will do at a fair price. That is difficult to find these days. If you need a new roof or not sure, give them a call. You will not be disappointed.
