  My experience with Messing has been one of the most stressful and frustrating experiences of my life. I called to get a quote for adding gutters on one corner of my house. The estimator seemed nice, and quoted me $300 plus time and materials. I asked if it would be much above that $300 amount, and how complicated the job was, and he said not much. From what I've researched and from other quotes I got, I expected anywhere from $700-$1000. It wasn't complicated and the area I needed them installed wasn't that big. I decided to go with Messing because they're a family owned local business and I always want to support local when I can. So I signed the contract and waited. Two months pass. I call several times to get updates and never get anything concrete. Eventually, they call at the end of May to say they were ready to complete work. That day. I had received absolutely no notice, but I was already annoyed that it had taken so long, so I rearranged my work schedule so I could be home to greet them that day. Hours after I had expected them to arrive, they called and explained that they didn't have the right parts (?) and that they were going to come tomorrow morning at 8AM instead. At that point I was beyond annoyed but, again, I needed the work done. So whatever. Two guys show up the next day at 8:48AM. One of them explains to me that the estimator didn't get the right angle in the photos they took, so they misjudged the slope of my house and will need to add more gutters then they planned for the east side of the house. I assumed that might take a little longer, but the job is just for that one corner. I ask if this is a big deal, he says no. They did have to nail a 2x4 to the fascia so it was flush with the rest of the edge, but I got the impression this wasn't a big deal. He mentioned they don't have the right parts to complete everything, so they had to run to the store or back to their shop to get more parts. Again. I almost laughed when they said they needed to l

  The crew that came to replace my roof did a phenomenal job, and I’ve even gotten lots of compliments about it since then. They kept me in the loop on what they were doing, cleaned up afterwards, and did it all in a timely manner. I’d highly recommend Messing Roofing to anyone wanting to get a new roof anytime soon!
