My bill was originally like $6500 with a few concerns went to $7500. Because i mainly had to argue you guys want to charge me $150.00 to pull one ragady aluminum storm wondow frames off its like 2 minutes of labor. And I had 6 windows . Your up charges are way out of line .After arguing you did it cheaper like $50. per window . It should of been included in scope of work. how do wrap metal around in old storm window.I did put $1600 down i was paying anywhere from $1000 to $2000 per month yes I went over 2 months but you guys were being paid .And your secretary said it was ok. I know its not your fault that 3 of the teants didnt pay rent there section 8 cases got screw up. I was struggling a bit. and even though I was sending you as much as I could. You still got your lawyer involved. I will never use you more recommend you to any of the real estate investment clubs im involved in. Good luck

I’d like to share my experience with Long Construction, whom I contracted for roofing, siding, and window replacement. While the onsite crew demonstrated strong craftsmanship and professionalism, the administrative coordination fell significantly short of expectations. Key issues included: Lack of cross-functional alignment: The project manager, sales team, and office staff operated in silos, resulting in delays, miscommunication, and an incorrect bill of materials. Material discrepancies: The windows delivered were the wrong type and size, requiring complete reframing. This not only impacted the timeline but also introduced additional structural complications. Quality assurance gaps: During installation, interior walls and window casings were damaged. Although repairs were made, the new casings were left unpainted and the walls unsanded—indicating a lack of final quality control. Project oversight: No dedicated project manager was assigned, which contributed to the fragmented execution and lack of accountability. Billing errors: I was invoiced prematurely and for an incorrect amount, adding further frustration to the process. To their credit, the owner personally visited to address concerns, which I appreciated. However, it’s clear that internal operational improvements are needed to ensure future projects meet professional standards. I hope this feedback is helpful for others evaluating construction partners.

Thank you for your feedback Guillermo. We will always stand not only behind our work but also our mistakes, which do happen from time to time. The project manager initially handling your job is no longer with the company and we apologize for not having the same manager from start to finish. We are consistently working to better ourselves. In the end we are glad things went more smoothly when Mike became involved.

Great competitive price yes, work done in one day with folks from Mexico. Very polite workers. Mt gutters were loosened as the shingles were being let off my roof to dumpster. The gutter nails came loose ,gutter shaking. Long Construction wanted to charge me $200 just to come look. I TRULY CALL THAT BAD BUSINESS! Got another company to come and fix for free!! But of course I tipped them. So I do not recommend, sorry.

    Reply from the business

Hi Michelle, first we want to say we are glad you were happy with the roof installation and our employees. While some of our crew members do speak Spanish, they are not from Mexico or "mexicans" nor do we believe race would matter if they were. Furthermore, we did your roof well over two years ago and did not remove or replace your gutters which is why we origionally stated we would send someone out for an on site repair but would charge a minimun service fee. We actually ended up offering to come out for free the next day and you declined. During the winter months your gutters are faced with carrying a tremendous amount of weight. Its the new industry standard to use concealed hangers with screws so they don't pull out. Glad you were able to get your gutter issue taken care of.

I was not impressed with this company. They utilize a LEAF BLOWER TO BLOW shingles and plastic wrappers into neighbors yards. FOUR TIMES STATED STOP BLOWING DEBRIS OVER ON MY PROPERTY. THEY DID NOT CLEAN IT UP despite the 4X stating they need to clean it this ridiculous. I hear no English being spoken back to me. So plan on a fine for failing to dispose of materials properly $2500. fine by the DEC for violating the EPA. NO one has returned in in 2days to pickup the plastic garbage shingles and plastic and nails, allowing it into water source and trees. If my family hits a nail as result of this mess left by this company; I assure you'll hear more from me!

They told us that they would be here at a certain time, the next day comes and they text me and say they are coming at a different time which didn’t work for me. I took half of a work day off to meet with them, now I’m out over $100, who pays me that back!? Calling a different contractor. Thanks a lot.

When I declined to accept their proposal, Bob, the salesperson wrote me an extremely insulting email, berating me as having poor judgment and making invalid assumptions about the quality of the work I will receive because I accepted a lower bid. Incredibly unprofessional!

David, I am truly sorry for this interaction. I am going to reach out to you by phone to follow up.

I thought I did my research on companies and thought I was in good hands. In the beginning things were fine up until the work actually started on the house. I don't know how many times I reiterated I needed the back yard to be spotless for the dogs and I kept getting the same response of "yeah you will be all set, no worries!". The first night they what they tore off was left completely across my back yard with a tarp as well as across my driveway. All while there was a dumpster in the driveway. On top of that they had no respect for any of my landscaping. Destroyed one of my small trees and the gutter people had their ladder in my lilac bushes. I had to call back twice to have shingles replaced because they were flying off during the wind storms. Gutters were seamed together very sloppy and the water will have to build up some to actually move properly. The lack of communication between the office and project mgr I feel is not the best and between everything I have gone through and dealing with everything. The only part of the process that was good was dealing with the sales person who came out to look at the job (Dustin). Overall I can honestly say I don't think I would deal with this company or refer them to anyone after my experience. I can go on about things but I think this covers the core parts. Needless to I was hoping for a much better experience.

Patrick, we are very sorry you are not happy with some aspects of our work. Unfortunately replacing a roof and gutter system in the winter months does have its challenges. I believe we promptly resolved the gutter and shingle issue once the snow melted but we would be happy to address any other concerns. Please feel free to contact the office at (585)433-5664.

Excellent company! Professional and friendly. Guidance every step of the way, support with the insurance claim. Workmanship is high quality and the job was done efficiently. Everything was cleaned up with no trace of the job even happening-other than our beautiful new roof. I highly recommend Long Construction and would utilize them for future jobs!

If you are looking for a bid on a roofing job, I recommend contacting Mike Newton at Long Construction. He was quick but thorough in his assessment and in providing an estimate. Mike was very helpful and accessible for answering my questions. Long Construction was neither the highest nor the lowest (but close) bid. I liked that they used all Owens Corning products and had a positive approach to soffit vents instead of roof vents. The selection of products was appealing. Long Construction's roofing crew headed by Jose just finished replacing and repairing my roof. They worked so hard and did a wonderful job. Jose kept me wekk informed of the crew's progress. There were 4-6 workers on the job at any given time. I really like the shingles I chose. The crew that puts on the gutter covers has yet to come, but I expect them soon.

I hired long construction to replace my roof and to change the down spouts, the salesman was nice , he answered all the questions appropriately, was not trying to push me to sign up, I had two other roofers, who were nice, but one had much higher price, and a long delay, the other was reasonable but I did not feel comfortable with him. they were able to do the job within a reasonable time, the workers did a good a job but I was not able to communicate with them directly ( none of them spoke english), the lead man spoke english, he was informative. not sure how well the roof will hold during strong storms yet, but so far its fine, there were few imperfections after the job, it would be nice if some one from the company communicated with me few days after the job is done. the down spouts color was not exactly the same old color, and one of the newly placed spout was leaking immediately after the job in a storm. overall I am satisfied with their job so far.

The general quality of workmanship and materials was very good. My primary concerns were with the management of the job (not enough workers) and follow up inspection/evaluation/correction of issues. One worker was left to do the work alone for almost 12 hours over two days in sweltering heat. I provided water, gatorade and ice for him and the other workers over the three days of the job. After work was done, there was a bad rainstorm. The double elbow gutter downspout dislodged so there was water pouring onto the porch roof and next to the foundation. I took pictures and video and sent them to the project manager (PM). I received no response. I crawled onto the porch roof and secured the downspout as best I could. While on the porch roof I noticed that there were a couple of places the shingles didn't cover the underlayment. I called Long and they arranged for the PM to come out. The PM added two screws to the downspout but didn't fix the screw that held the downspout to the wall that they had pulled out during shingling. The PM also found an exposed nail on the porch. I told the PM I wanted a full walkthrough of the roof since these things were found. He said he'd be back for that with the worker. The worker came back to address the porch issues. The PM didn't. The PM said the worker would go onto the roof and send him pictures. That didn't happen. I called Long and told them to send another PM to look at the work. The new PM found that the exposed nail on the porch hadn't been addressed. He also found a number of exposed nails on the roof and that the nails on the flashing of the boot around the main stack hadn't been sealed. He also found quite a bit of debris in the gutter on the back roof (nails, flashing bits, shingle bits and staples). The new PM addressed all those issues. To boot, I stepped on a nail left in the back yard in my bare feet and also found on nail each embedded in my crocs.

Very knowledgeable lead person who walked me through the options and even inspected the roof to make sure it was only the gutters that needed replacing. One day they just showed up saying saying they had an opening, and did the work in the rain. Gave me more options on how to improve. Done quickly then just disappeared after cleaning everything up. No fuss no muss I highly recommend.

My husband did a lot of work on our home in the 32 years we've owned it, but due to illness, he wasn't able to complete what he had started. A friend hired Long Construction to replace our garage roof in November 2024 and they did an excellent job. After my husband passed away, the unfinished work on the house still needed to be completed to keep it safe, secure, energy efficient and comfortable. The same friend recommended Long and put me in touch directly with Mike Long, who generously agreed to help me with this project. Phil Pompili was assigned as the Project Consultant, and with his knowledge along with his incredible patience and compassion, he walked me through the whole planning process and handled the ordering of supplies. Phil was quick to respond to calls or texts and I truly could not have gone through this process without him. Phil is a true blessing. When the work started, Matt Auble took over as the Project Manager. Matt and his crew completed 16 window replacements including a couple re-framings, exterior wall replacements, two exterior doors with accompanying storm doors, finished the siding started by my husband, installed soffits, facia, gutters, four door locks and two exterior light installations all in four days! Hard working is an understatement! The crew on my project worked 12-hour days with dedication, excellence, expertise and skill. It was a pleasure meeting Mike when he visited who has a true caring heart for people. I will definitely call Long Construction to replace my roof and two additional windows in a couple years. What had been 32 years of dreaming came true in three months. I thank Mike Long, Phil Pompili, Matt Auble and all the crew members on my project from the depths of my heart. I know my husband is smiling down from Heaven so grateful for this amazing company and the work to be finally completed. Update 3/9/26 I was hoping to wait another year or two to replace my roof. My roof had other ideas. On January 5th 2026 Long Co

Last year I had to have my roof replaced and after a few quotes I chose Long Construction and they did a great job from start to finish, this year I needed more work done and choosing Long was an easy decision. Brian came out the next day and reviewed my project, I had a quote within a few hours and within a few weeks Joe and his team came out, worked in terrible heat and humidity and again finished the same day doing a great job. I would highly recommend them.

Great experience. Sales presentation was clear and concise. I particularly like the Corning product and warranty. The installation and crew were very professional and cleaned up amazingly well. The job was fast and very well done. My neighbors have commented on the good work and how nice it looks now. I thought the project manager was the key to the job success. He was on site each day and answered my phone calls and questions. A roof is big investment. Thank you Long Construction Dave Baritot, Irondequoit
