  Ma'am I am afraid you misunderstand the warranty that was passed onto you. You 100% still have your warranty for the remainder of the 55 years (please read your warranty as material is covered, however workmanship is only 10 years which is an industry standard). In the event of anything happening to your roof, we will be there to service it, as we service every roof we have ever installed, some service work is likely to require payment for labour if not within the scope of the warranty). I would recommend you look more closely at the warranty in your possession and understanding the scope of your warranty.

  Nice roofs and great service during the sales and installation stage. Horrible customer service when it comes to the so-called 55-year warranty. We have a complex roofline with particularly problematic corner that was supposed to be addressed with a metal roof. I have a valley in the south-east corner that sits in the shade of the neighboring house. We had problem with snow melting in the sunny parts and freezing the shaded corner. This was discussed in great detail with the installer. EcoMetal still has a promotional video online where I am talking about their roof as a solution to my ice-problems in that corner. Turns out, it was not the solution the way it was installed. My roof was installed 8 years ago. It looks beautiful and we are generally very happy. The installation went really well and professional. We then had ice problems again a few years ago. The service crew removed the ice and identified the problem but never fixed it (despite multiple follow-ups on my end). The way the corner was designed did not leave a proper outflow and instead channeled the water under the metal, over the old shingles into the gutter. The flow to the gutter easily blocked by ice. We had a few mild winters with no problems, but a massive ice issue again this year. Water came into the house, through the ceiling, wall, insulation, floor, all the way to the basement. Dealing with the service was a nightmare. I understand that it was a busy time with many ice and snow related issues, but there are not many things more stressful for a homeowner than water entering the house. Scheduling was chaotic, the person I talked to on the phone thought I was someone else resulting in me losing a day of work while waiting for the service team to arrive, etc. The ice was eventually removed and the fix that should have made years ago was finally implemented. My roof looks less sleek now, but hopefully the new ‘design’ will stop water from being trapped and pushed under the roof. As part of the 55

  Hello, we understand that you were frustrated by this issue with your home. Thank you for acknowledging that your roof was complex as that, along with the fact that the gutters you had installed were not sufficient for the amount of roof they needed to handle (we did not install the gutters). You had 8 years of no problems (we have no record of a service request in the past). This year was particularly rough for all roofs and even more so for roofs that have difficult areas that should be using additional methods for ice removal. As well, you should know that your warranty does not cover ice damming and that is why you received a bill for the work. This was not a secret. And as for the communication issue you mentioned, we called asking for your email address for the invoice to be sent to. I'm sorry you misunderstood that. We have been working with you to remedy this issue during a difficult time and we are sorry that you do not feel that that is satisfactory for you. Have a good day.

  I approached George at a job he was doing in Dorchester. The sign “eco roofing” was on the lawn. I inquired about getting my roof done and he said he’d come over and do a quote. He gave me a quote and asked for a 2 grand deposit. He said it would be completed June 17, 2022. He has shown up three time and stayed maybe 2 hours each time. He won’t reply to my messages. 3 weeks ago he texted me to tell me he doesn’t have enough money to purchase supplies (I have these messages saved). I even offered to buy the supplies for him and he didn’t reply. He won’t answer my texts or phone calls. I called eco roofing and Dave said he is a contractor and did this job on his own so they brushed me off and wouldn’t help me. I have been nice and understanding to this guy but now I am out 2 grand and it’s been over 10 weeks and I don’t have a roof. I was under the impression I was using eco roofing but apparently the people that work for them cheat people out of money and don’t finish the job. My neighbour told me the one day he did show up he was cursing loudly the whole time he was there and her young child was outside playing. I now have a roof with a giant piece of wood sticking out the front, three sheets of steel on it and a leak that drips on my bed.

You have signed no contract with our company, nor has any employee of our company agreed to install your roof. Therefore, you need to contact the individual whom you did hire to resolve this situation. We wish you the best.

  I called to transfer the roof warranty when we bought our house and the guy one the phone said “great, it’s transferred” after I provided our information. I asked if there was anything else I needed to do and he said no. Fast forward and now we’re having mould issues from improper venting (we suspect) and I called to have someone out to look at it. Not only have they denied that I called to transfer the warranty but they’re not even calling me back after calling 3 times! Disappointing that a company cannot honour their work. I even said; I just need someone out to look at it, I’ll. Pay. No calls.

  The previous owner of my house installed metal roof provided by this company. We paid $75+HST to transfer the warranty. However, they installed the metal roof on top of the old shingle, and covered one of the bathroom vent. For the past few years, the exhaust fan of the bathroom was sending steam and air into the gap between the old shingle and the newer metal roof. We found out about this when we were renovating the bathroom and taking off the old exhaust fan. There is no way to know if they have also blocked any other vent (for example, exhaust vent for kitchen range hood, vent for other bathroom, etc.). When I called this company, their service person in the office was OK. However, their technician were 49 minutes late on the appointment. During the waiting time, I called their office, the person who set up the appointment had left and no one could tell me how long should I continue to wait and what to expect next. The only good thing is that they installed the vent for me, although they shouldn't have blocked it years ago.

  Please note: this review is not from one of our customers, but a tenant in a building that we were installing a metal roof on. We were in constant contact with the landlord during the installation who is more than pleased with the work and how we presented ourselves while on his property.

  London Eco-metal Manufacturing inc. is a good company to get a steel roof done. They came quickly to do an estimate and were able to do the work in a timely manner. Andrew was good to deal with explaining the work being done. Valdek did a great job of installing the roof system.
