I call to book an appointment for a BOOT REPAIR ONLY. The roofer came out accessed and at the end tried to upsell me on a whole roof. I explained we only need the boot pipe repaired and he said we do not do that we have to do a package deal. Why waste my time? When I first called to book the appt someone should have explained that to us right upfront. This has caused such a headache and our time is wasted. Do not recommend at all.

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re sorry for the frustration. Our goal during inspections is always to identify the true source of the problem, not just the visible symptom, so we can make sure your roof is properly protected and prevent future leaks or damage.

See photos to read my full extended review. Update regarding owner's response: The owner characterizes this as the "administrative and communication process not meeting my expectations." That's a significant understatement. This was not a matter of unmet expectations — it was a failure to follow your own contractual obligations. Regarding Clause 26 That process was not followed. Framing a contractual violation as a customer's expectations not being met is exactly the kind of language that minimizes legitimate concerns and discourages other homeowners from advocating for themselves. I'd encourage future customers to read the contract carefully and hold Guy Roofing to the terms they wrote. I hired Guy Roofing for a full roof replacement in Simpsonville following hail damage through an insurance claim. What started as a professional experience during the sales phase quickly deteriorated once the contract was signed. Decking boards: During tear-off, the crew replaced what they claimed were 10 boards at $105 each — $1,050 added with zero warning. I was working from home. No one knocked, no one called, no change order was presented. I found out after the fact. When I challenged this, I was told a change order wasn't necessary because the rate was on the front page. However, their own Clause 26 on page two specifically requires a signed change order for hidden conditions and lists "deteriorated decking" as the first example. You can't have a clause in your contract and tell customers it doesn't apply to the exact scenario it describes. The photo documentation I received was a disorganized set of images with blue numbers scrawled on in "no particular order" — their words. No before-and-after photos, no dimensions tracked. Their staff admitted some of the 10 "boards" were partial cuts from full 4x8 sheets, and that crews bring bulk OSB and cut on site. So I was charged $105 per cut piece, not per actual sheet. After escalation to the director of production, they reduced

We appreciate your persistence in bringing these matters to our attention, as it helps us continue to improve our customer experience. Thank you for choosing Guy Roofing. Joseph and a junior sales guy came out to give us an estimate for replacing 9 roofs at our condo association. First, very aggressive sales pitches...no desire to provide a written proposal...they were trained by the same sales trainer. (I sold and trained sales people for 17 years in New York City...it was annoying...but...we agreed to receive their estimate. Here's where the breakdown occurred: they refuse to operate under payment and performance bonding...we don't take risks like that with a 1/4 of a million dollar roofing project. So we parted ways before doing business...but...this is something everyone should ask.

Despite what their website says, they do NOT offer free estimates. They said they had to charge $150 just to come out but it will be taken off the final bill. (More details) We had guy roofing come out to look at 2 broken rubber seals on our roof ($34 dollars a piece at Home Depot by the way) just called someone because I didn’t have the correct ladder to reach them. When he finally was done doing a one hour inspection (making drone/YouTube videos that he would then show us) and had finally gotten through his 1 hour long history lesson about the company… He told us the bill would be $7,500 my husband then told him to remove the gutter guards from the invoice (we had never asked nor expressed interest in gutter guards) the bill was still $2,700. Absolutely outrageous. I did the math for you, that’s a 3,870.6% up charge. It’s actually more because I’m sure they buy basic rubber seals at wholesale prices. They are just another greedy corporate company (even though the guy spent 10 min of his history lesson explaining why they weren’t) We then kindly told him that we weren’t going to use them (obviously) and called the office to get a refund. After all, their website, very clearly states free estimates! We were then greeted with a million transfers before someone was able to help us. And all they told us was that we weren’t able to get a refund. OH, my bad for thinking “free estimates” meant free estimates! Anyway, I would honestly have no problem with them (beyond outrageous pricing) if we had just gotten our refund. Not only will I not recommend them, I will now go out of my way to warm people against using them.

Company claims work is exceptional but customer service is lacking. Repairs were done for our roof and skylights. No follow up or photos or drone videos. After months of selling, everything stops once check is cleared. No itemized receipts, no called returned from salesperson, no customer service help. Insurance companies need details but Guy will not provide. We may loose coverage. Oh well. Why don’t you ask Christian P if he remembers the account.

TL;DR: I contacted Guy Roofing for a simple roof repair quote and instead got a 2-hour aggressive sales pitch filled with invasive personal questions. After declining service, I was repeatedly contacted — including personal, unsolicited texts apparently generated by an AI system that was fed my info without consent. Despite multiple requests to stop, the communication continued. This was invasive, unprofessional, and felt like harassment. ______________________________________________________ Extremely Uncomfortable Experience – Unethical and Aggressive Tactics On Monday, September 15, 2025, I contacted Guy Roofing for a quote to repair a small roof leak. I explicitly requested a quote for a repair only. When the salesman arrived, the visit lasted over two hours, during which he asked numerous personal and unrelated questions, making me very uncomfortable. He presented a long pitch about the company before finally quoting me over $12,000 for a “roof tune up” including upgrades — far beyond what I had requested. After declining, he lowered it to $5,000, still more than three times higher than quotes I received from other companies. I clearly stated multiple times that I was getting other estimates and asked him to email me the quote and I would reach out if I was interested. Despite this, I began receiving repeated follow-up text messages over the next several days. On Wednesday, September 17, I emailed the salesman to inform him I was not interested in moving forward. He did not respond. That evening, I received a text that was not related to my roof in any way and included personal information the salesman learned while grilling me. I felt this was inappropriate and an invasion of privacy. On Thursday, September 18, I called the Guy Roofing office and spoke to a manager (Brandon). I was told the texts were sent by an AI system that the salesman had input personal information into, which then auto-generated follow-up messages — all without my consent. I expressed h

I am so pleased we chose to go with Matthew Cohen with Guy Roofing. We had already had a hole in our bedroom ceiling from a vent pipe leaking. We were afraid our roof was going to come down on top of us. Matthew & Guy Roofing came to our aid and put a new roof on as quickly as possible. I received pictures as they were replacing our roof and Matthew came back to visit us after the work was completed. Over all the experience and crew was amazing, we highly recommend Guy Roofing!
