  Called for pipe to be put through roof. Doesn't come out for less than $1000 & only wanted to give estimate, not work. Life is short, but not cheap.

  Hello Rhonda, I am not sure who you spoke with but this is incorrect. Our basic service charge for repairs starts at $ 125 and all estimates are FREE! Thanks -Chris

  I contacted Godwin to get a quote for a new roof, and after asking some questions and explaining how I was comparing their quote with others Chris took offense. He considers that I was willing to compare his quote with others as unacceptable behavior, however consumers always have the right and duty to research before making a purchase. I am actively engaged with two other companies who have been very friendly and happy to help. Read the e-mail from Chris where he makes accusations that I reported him to the BBB and insults me and judge for yourself.

  I found Chris difficult to work with. He revised his original quote upwards by $4,000 and was dismissive about my questions and concerns. He decided to go ahead with the roofing during a particularly rainy week which led to water leaking in to the ceiling. After the roofing was complete there was standing water on part of the roof. When I brought this to Chris' attention he said it was within the norms.

  Called this company 3 times for an estimate for a metal roof install. They called back, said they were coming, but never came to give me an estimate. Very unreliable company. No follow through what so ever. I was hoping they would live up to the hype but they didn't even follow through on a simple estimate.

  Hello Everyone reading this negative review, This is Chris, Owner of Godwin Green Roofing here to clear the air about this review. The customer is exactly right, I did not have any contact with him about the roof, because I was hired by his neighbor to put both of their roofs on at the same time (the building was a triplex). The 2 story roof was severely rotted with multiple sheets of plywood and fascia boards that had wood rot. Our contract clearly states the cost of this wood repair and notes that wood repair is not including into original price. It also states that we are not responsible for painting new wood. After the project was completed and inspections had passed I emailed both invoices to the original customer that I had been working with. The first customer had no complaints and paid their bill immediately. After 3-4 weeks of no payment from second customer, I emailed him explaining that I would be forced to place temporary lien on their home if I was not paid soon. At this time (3-4 weeks after project complete) the customer notified me that they were not happy with the bill and mad at the fact that we did not paint wood. Also, this was was the first time I was told that they had an insurance claim for their portion of roof. So, in response, I told the customer that we would paint the wood if he needed assistance with it (he declined), I then double checked to make sure that we billed him correctly for the wood repair (we did bill correctly) and I told him that the insurance does not always pay for all wood repair (there was a few hundred dollar difference between my bill and what the insurance company paid out). Remember, he got a new roof for free, paid for by the insurance company. During this entire time, I was very professional, honest and helpful in anyway I could. I even talked to his insurance company for him to explain the wood working charges. We gave him an excellent, high quality roof in a very timely manner that met every selling point

  Chris and the full roofing staff were superd. Full and excellent communications… all steps along the way on my wife’s and my home on the west side of Gainesville. Chris explained some upgrades.. which we did… and the roof quality and looks came out better than expected. Highly recommended.

  Godwin was professional, thorough and gave a great product at a fair price. They were very helpful with adding a grade to my flat roof carport, left the property clean and completed the project on time. I would definitely recommend.

  Godwin Green Roofing was the best estimate that we got for our new roof out of four companies. They were here on time and had the job completed in one day. They also had one of their supervisors come by the following day to make sure that the job was completed properly and that the job site was cleaned up.
