They did a great job replacing a roof in May, 2025. Yet an emplyee stepped through a roof planel. Josh called in July to say he was ordering the replacement. It's the end of the year now: Josh and Felipe do not return calls and the rain pours in. A fix of some type please.

Turned down opportunity to fix our gutter issue.

where do i start? 6 months ago I got a quote from them, and began the permit process. 2 months went by for me to find out this company had a permit issue in Marion County. Felipe told me that he understands it might take a while longer and I could find a different company if I needed to. He said we could cancel everything and it wouldn't be a problem. So I found a new company that was also cheaper and was more familiar with Marion County and the permits. I immediately contacted American Metals to cancel everything like they said wouldn't be a problem. Fast forward 3 months - the new company tries to get my permit and I find out American Metals has not canceled it like I asked them to. I contact the office - they tell me they got the cancelation papers and it's good now. A week later the new company tries to get the permit AGAIN and it HAS NOT BEEN CANCELED. I contact the "owner" Josh about the situation and he tells me "Contact the office". Like I hadn't already tried. If the office knew what the hell they were doing I wouldn't of had to go this far to begin with. All they had to do was email the building department but this seems too difficult so now I have to go out of my way to send a certified letter to get this resolved. This company has been nothing but unprofessional since the very beginning. Stay away.

Hi Michelle. We definitely understand and share your frustrations. We applied for your permit, and that was the extent of the work we performed. Our office admin has been working with Marion County to resolve this issue. Canceling the permit application SHOULD be as easy as emailing a municipality, however that is not the case. Our office was instructed to wait for an email from the Marion County Building Dept to begin the process of canceling the permit. We apologize for the inconvenience and any delays this has caused. We also apologize for any miscommunication regarding how and when we initiated the permit revocation process. Our office will reach out to Marion County again tomorrow to try and expedite the process. Again, we apologize profusely for the delay and any oversights on our end. We will send you a gift card for the inconvenience and your time. You have our sincerest apologies, and we are working with the County on this issue.

Edit: wow forgot about this. Holy cow that's a story of a reply. They never contacted to correct. We got another company to fix it. I don't know about a business that blames the customer, that seems sketchy. I don't know concrete, I expect the person I hired to know so when they asked me how to fix it and I said I don't know maybe skim coat, does that work? I don't think that's a real plan ya know? Anyways I got pictures from this experience and I may post them if I find the time. The bottom line the enclosure is still standing and the slab is poorly graded , with a corner being a bit higher than the middle and does not drain water, and the experience was just awful. DOES NOT HONOR WARRANTY. Poor quality. Holes in pool screen two weeks after final payment. Missing fasteners. Problems and delays throughout. Hired craigslist subs who did poor quality and then bailed. Hired subs that sprayed concrete on buildings. Overall process was drawn out to get us to accept sub standards.

We understand our clients' frustration and do not blame them in any way; however, we disagree with the mischaracterizations and gross misrepresentations asserted by Mr. Braun, bordering on fabrication There were difficulties with our concrete subs. There was a small amount of standing water on the slab (which passed inspection), but rather than tell Mr. Braun that the concrete met standards, we asked Mr. Braun what remedy he would like us to pursue to meet his satisfaction. We took the course of action that the owner felt would make him feel the most at ease, which was also the most expensive. In the end, American Metals hired THREE (!) concrete subs, and paid out 250% over the typical cost for a concrete slab of this size, all in the efforts to make Mr. Braun whole and comfortable with the product. Those are the actions of a contractor taking everything action in their power (AND PAYING EVERY ADDITIONAL EXPENSE) to remedy the situation, not someone trying "draw things out" to get the owners to accept an inferior product. Side note: The "Concrete sprayed on the buildings" is a blatant exaggeration. There was a small amount of concrete that splattered from the concrete pump, which we apologized for and acknowledged. Mr. Braun has pictures, which would show the extent of the concrete splatter, but to be clear NO ONE "SPRAYED" concrete on his buildings. Again, there was an issue, but Mr, Braun's review regarding the concrete is full of misrepresentations. The enclosure: Once we had the owner's express satisfaction on the slab, we began to build the enclosure. The end product was a beautiful pool enclosure, which of course passed inspection. Mr. and Mrs. Braun were really happy with the enclosure and expressed their satisfaction, both in person and via email. "Poor Quality" doesn't hold up, and is again, a misrepresentation. The "Missing fastener" assertion is a fabrication. The enclosure passed inspection, and there were no missing fasteners observed o

ZERO ZERO ZERO!!! THE WORST! RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!! We contracted a POOL SCREEN CAGE IN FEB and were given a start date in April. (totally acceptable and fine) Roughly 1 week before the proposed start date, we were told that they were going have to start at a later date...but not sure when. We still had not heard from then by the end of May, so we contacted them and asked for a hard start date. After waiting several days for a reply, we were asked by the owner "well, DO YOU REALLY NEED THE CAGE, OR DO YOU JUST WANT IT?". When we told him we needed it for my elderly parents, he gave us a start date of Jun 14. Today, we get a call and the OWNER flat out told us (after MONTHS OF WAITING) That "HE WAS GOING TO TELL US HOW THIS WAS GOING TO GO, AND IF WE DIDN'T LIKE IT THAT'S JUST TOO BAD AND WE COULD FIND SOMEONE ELSE!" THERE WAS GOING TO BE ANOTHER INDEFINITE DELAY."

In 12+ years of business we have NEVER had to relieve ourselves from the service of a client. NEVER. This was the first. Combine that with the 100+ positive reviews posted here and I think it's fairly clear that there is a lot more to this than the "American Metals is a terrible company" narrative. Mr. Tart did request we start before he left for a trip. Our response was sure, we will move our schedule around to make that happen. He had been waiting for a while, and we wanted to get his project built for him prior to his departure. We did ask him " Do you need this done by a specific date for a purpose, like a party?" to gauge priority. Now the missing part: Mr. Tart wanted to wait to pay for the WHOLE project (-$1,000 deposit, more on that later) when he returned from his trip. Basically he wanted us to build the enclosure on his timetable, then pay when he was ready. Our response: No, we cannot do that. If we cannot be paid on completion (after inspection), per our agreement, then we cannot move forward. We have obligations to employees and suppliers. We did INVITE Mr. Tart to find another contractor for his build, since we could not meet his requirements. That was a legitimate business decision and offer to him. In the end, we came to an agreement to be paid on completion. Missing information: We updated Mr. Tart that we had to return a delivery for another ongoing project, the materials were damaged and could not be used. That would delay our start date by about 2 days. We also let Mr. Tart know that we have an installer who had possibly come into contact with Covid, which could also delay the start depending on the results. His response: "We need to talk". Mr. Tart was not accepting of the facts that we had some sourcing issues, and we had another possible setback with a Covid case (test ended up being negative). At that point I made the decision to release ourselves and Mr. Tart from our agreement. It was plainly clear that this was not

We had some screen panels replaced a few years ago by American Metals - over $1000. Recently one was coming away from the spline. We called them to come & look at the problem. Discussing this with Josh on the phone (who was our original salesman/estimator) I told him I understood it had been a few years but we still needed repairs. He came out & my husband pointed out that our screens were over 15 years old & he was disappointed that the screens installed by American Metals were coming apart so soon. Josh then said how difficult it would be to work on those top screens which was odd since they were the ones who installed them. An estimate was requested & Josh said he would email one in an hour. When we didn't get one by the next day I called Josh who was very defensive about the issue & said it could have been a squirrel & not shoddy workmanship. I said I didn't care why I just needed it fixed & wanted to stay with American Metals & still wanted an estimate. He said he was in the office & would get it right out. Never came. So I called someone else with a better attitude who gave an estimate on the spot because it was an easy fix since he just had to re-set the spline. We were so impressed with his professionalism that we asked him for an estimate on the older screens - then he threw in the repair of the American Metals screen for free. Because of the customer service we received from American Metals they lost out on a larger job.

Top notch company from start to finish. Estimating was clear and concise. Communication with the Estimator and Office were easy. The crew that came to do the work were extremely experienced professionals who take pride in what they create. Without a doubt one of the best companies I’ve dealt with in a long time. Their price was higher than others and the quality of material and workmanship reflected that in all the ways you should expect.

If I could leave 6 stars I would. A single employee of American Metals LLC put a gutter with a downspout and leaf guard across the front of my house yesterday. He arrived bright and early, got the work done quickly, and it looks great. I investigated the fastening and it looks sturdy and fantastic. The saying goes "You can have work done cheap, fast and good. Pick two." American Metals LLC says "hold my beer", (no drinking occured, it's just a saying) and accomplishes all three. The price was fair. The work was quick. The craftsmanship was impeccable. I highly recommend this locally owned and operated business.
