  We had them do several jobs. They replaced some siding and 2 windows and also replaced 2 doors and storm doors. All in all over $17,000 worth of work. Along the way we had several small issues, including the windows not being up to code. It resulted in a fair amount of aggravation for us, but they took care of everything. At the last visit, they asked us to pay the bill, which we did. A few days later, we received an email from a person named Liberty. She said they had made a mistake on the bill and we owed them another $145. We refused to pay, citing the many problems we had, and the fact that we did what they had asked....paid the bill they brought. A few days later, we received another email, threatening to sue us for the $145. We again refused, this time copying the owner with our response. We were appalled. In spite of the issues, the work was good, and we would have used them again. Now, we wouldn't think of ever using them again, or recommending them.

  NOT THE COMPANY IT ONCE WAS – BUYER BEWARE. My family has worked with this company for ~40 years and I had high hopes of working with a local, family-run business. I agreed to the $2000 quote to replace my storm door and then after having a technician come out for measurements, the salesmen called to say it was actually going to cost an additional $1300 for materials (more than 50% higher than the quote!). I declined this work and was told they could still proceed. The salesmen called back again to say it would actually only cost an additional $800 because my “porch was actually smaller than I remembered”, to which I again declined. The installation went well with no mention of the additional materials or work that the salesmen had requested. I then received the invoice that, to my surprise, included the additional $800 cost. I spoke with the salesmen to inquire about the charge to which he said that the storm door replacement couldn’t have been completed without the additional work and that he “did me a favor” by reducing the amount from $1300 to $800.. despite the fact that he initially told me he just misremembered the specs of my front porch. The fact that this work was only mentioned by the salesman via phone and not either of the technicians in- person, led me to believe that it was an unnecessary upsell. I then received a call from George Grove III who patronizingly questioned how much I knew about business and that I don’t know “how construction works”. He told me that due to a catchall loophole phrase on the quote, I was required to pay for the additional work despite me declining it twice and even threatened legal action if I didn’t. All of this and I still had to request they come back to finish the agreed upon work because their measurements didn’t consider my deadbolt, so the front door and the storm door couldn’t both be closed at the same time. They told me to buy a new deadbolt and they’d install it for me. Overall, this was a very disappointing

  I unfortunately did not have a good experience with this company at all. One of their guys came to my house May 26th to be able to get me an estimate of a project I wanted done. I was told by the guy that I would have my estimate by the next week. I hadn’t heard anything so I texted the guy who came to my house June 5th to check in and see if I could be expecting the estimate any time soon. He never responded. I called the company on June 15th to see how much longer it might be before I receive the quote and was told they would pass a message to the guy who came out originally and he would get back to me. It is now July 1st and I still have not heard anything from anyone at this company. I understand they are probably very busy and I would have no problem with the quote taking longer than a week, but there is absolutely no way it takes over a month. Clearly they do not plan on getting the quote to me. If this was a project they did not want to do or could not do, there is no reason they couldn’t have reached out to me to say that. The lack of communication and ignoring both the text that I sent and the message that was supposedly passed along is extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. Because of this experience I would absolutely not recommend this company to anyone.

  Called for a door install/repair to which a tech was sent out for. Upon his arrival the tech called me (I was at work) and told me his boss did not allot him enough time for the repair that was required. The tech said he would call me right back after speaking with his boss if he was able to stay for the repair or if it would need to be rescheduled. I never received a call back. I called the company later in the day to inquire about the status of the job and possible next steps. They had no clue what was going on, got defensive and told me they would have to get their repair techs side of the story. That wasn’t the point, I just wanted to know the way forward for fixing my front door. No work was completed in the end. Horrible communication, zero service. Easily my worst experience dealing with any contractor or specialist in Lancaster. It would be my seasoned recommendation to look elsewhere.

  I had 5 windows replaced in 2010. 3 of those windows have a broken seal The windows have a lifetime warranty however there's a labor charge to have the work done. The company refuses to give me an estimate of the charges. I've emailed multiple times. I know it will cost $105 per man hour and travel time. What I don't know is how many man hours will it take to complete the job. It's outrageous that this company can't be straightforward with costs

  I had previously left a bad review as there were some concerns with our gutters that Grove installed. I have to say I have been very impressed with how Grove has helped us! Jason called me immediately and listened very kindly to our concerns/dissatisfaction and came out days later to look and help assess what is going on. He apologized for the miscommunication. Grove clearly takes their customer service very seriously and has changed me from a dissatisfied customer to a thankful one!

  Grove & Son replaced my front entryway door & did a wonderful job through the whole process. Mike was great & very helpful, the installation was smooth and the door quality is wonderful. Before & after speaks for itself! (went with the Legacy Steel door)

  This is the second time we have used George Grove to install windows and a door. Both times Jon came out and did a great job of explaining the whole procedure for us. We also had our deck repaired the workman did a fantastic job. The first window installation was for our bedroom windows. The work crew was professional and did a great job. The most recent install was for the rest of our windows. The install crew was efficient and was able to get the job done in one day. Would use this companycagain for any future needs.

  Would highly recommend. Ron our sales guy was great to work with, no pressure, took his time to answer all my questions (and I had plenty). Chris and the entire installation team did an amazing job. Very impressed with the aluminum cladding around the windows!

  We had two casement windows replaced. What a great experience. Chris and John do excellent work. Showed up on time, detail conscious, cleaned up, and gave our dog lots of pets! We’ve used George Grove for a number of projects over the years and will continue to do so.
