**I previously left a detailed review based on my personal experience as somebody that watched them on a job site at my neighbors house, that also had the unfortunate circumstance of being forced, or placed in a terrible dispute/situation regarding this companies employees**. The owner BILL, who was not present during the situation, disagreed with my review as well as direct recollection of events. SO MUCH SO, that he proceeded to accuse me of defamation, and demanded me to remove my original review, or else it would be met with immediate legal action. As somebody that has left over 40 reviews for businesses- based on my opinion and encounters, I for 1) have never been responded to in SUCH A DISGUSTING HATEFUL matter for simply stating my opinion and my recollection of events when either dealing with a company either directly, or indirectly. FURTHERMORE, Bill's response is ultimately why I have proceeded to yet again, finalize and leave my honest 1 star review for what I believe, may be or may not be the worst contracting company I have or will ever encounter. Your lack of accountability, understanding, and empathy with your response to my last review has raised many alarms/red flags and has assured me EVEN MORE that this is a company that I would advise anyone and everybody to stay away from. I will avoid you guys like the plague! Upon reading his response to my previous and original review, I learned the crew was working on something other than what I assumed was( the roof was my original assumption) which is why I chose to remove my original review. To be clear, I WOULD NEVER, defame any company. NOT EVEN KANGA ROOF, despite my terrible in-direct and somewhat DIRECT experience dealing with your employees while they were supposed to be working at a job site- assigned at my neighbor's house. I welcome any legal proceedings you may like to proceed with or like to take part-in, as they are baseless, unwarranted threats and a direct attack to my first amendment

Arben, We appreciate that you corrected your original review after learning that our company was not performing a roof replacement and that the length of the project was therefore based upon an incorrect assumption. We strongly disagree with your characterization of our employees and with your account of the incident involving our customer. Our employees were working at our customer’s property, and we stand behind their professionalism and their conduct. Because this matter arose from a dispute involving neighboring property owners rather than from work Kanga Roof performed for you, we do not believe an online review is the appropriate place to continue debating the incident. We have preserved the relevant information and will not engage in further public exchanges concerning it. We remain proud of our employees and the work we perform for our customers.

Had someone come out for an estimate on a leak and waited weeks for a call back after calling multiple times. I finally was told by a sales representative that the guy was fired and got me to someone else. I was promised a discount due to the inconvenience which wasn't much of one. Eventually the sent an another guy to do another estimate and again had to call back several times and waited weeks. They told me every excuse from terminated employee, personal family issues, several meetings they were supposed to have regarding my project and all of this to give me a high price. Save yourself some time and money and call a better company that actually wants the business and cares about their customers.

Dear Mr. Cardenas, Thank you for sharing your feedback. You are correct that the unexpected departure of your original roofing specialist caused an initial delay in your project, and we apologize for that inconvenience. Once our management team stepped in, our new specialist, Shane, conducted a thorough secondary inspection. During this visit, Shane identified critical items missed during the first estimate that required additional time to accurately price out for your insurance carrier. Ensuring your quote is comprehensive and correct is our top priority, even if it requires extra time to get it right. Our records indicate that Shane communicated with you on the morning you posted this review to assure you the updated pricing would be ready by this Friday. We understand that navigating insurance claims is stressful and that this process took longer than you preferred. While we always strive for extremely prompt service, we will not compromise on the accuracy of our assessments. We apologize that our timeline did not align with your expectations, and we genuinely wish you the best as you move forward with another contractor. Sincerely, Bill Burkhardt, Jr. VP-Owner

Dear Takeisha, Thank you so much for your feedback, and I would like to start with I am so sorry that our team has not lived up to expectations thus far. That is on us, and we will make it right. I also want to thank you for taking the time to speak with me on the phone yesterday afternoon so I could fully understand the communication breakdowns and what needs to happen to make it right. As promised, you will be hearing from our Service Department today with the plan to get the warranty work executed so your home is back in a safe and dry condition. As I shared with you on the phone, the team was not intentionally ignoring you. There were some logistical issues in securing your materials since your shingles are discontinued. We should have communicated that in real time so you and your husband understood the situation. We are working to ensure this does not happen to future warranty claims. We understand when there is a warranty issue, you just need the communication and assurance that your contractor has your back and will make it right. We will be doing just that for you. I want to thank you for being a Kanga Kare Club member, and while you did not receive the VIP service you deserved in this instance, you willingness to share your experience will allow us to plug the holes in our communication cycle to ensure you, and all club members, receive that level of 5 star service moving forward. Thank you again for your willingness to share, and we look forward to making this right. Sincerely, Bill Burkhardt, Jr. Owner

Hi Ken, Bill Burkhardt Jr. here! First and foremost, I want to sincerely apologize for the experience you described. At Four Seasons Kanga Roof, we strive to make every interaction Kanga-Rific, and what you’ve described—an unannounced visit without a knock or a call—is definitely not the VIP treatment we promise our community. I am a bit puzzled, however, and I’d love to get to the bottom of this with you! I’ve been huddling with our KKC Concierge, John Dykstra, and our records show that our annual inspection season hasn’t actually kicked off yet—we aren't scheduled to start those until next week. Because our Kanga Kare Club members are our absolute VIPs, we have strict "no-surprise" protocols in place. Since we don’t have a phone number or email linked to this Google profile you used so we can verify the visit, could you please "hop" on a call or email with us? We want to investigate if there was a scheduling mix-up or if someone else was on your property. Please reach out to me directly at billjr@kanga-roof.com or contact John at john.dykstra@kanga-roof.com. You can also give us a ring at 586-566-0308. We are ready to jump into action and make this right for you! Sincerely, Bill Burkhardt, Jr.

BEWARE.. Had a “roofing specialist” come out after significant wind and hail happened where I live. He went through and showed me all the hail and wind damage he found. Fast forward to the insurance adjuster coming out, the contractor was there as well… the adjuster told me he did not find any of the damage mentioned by Kangaroof and when asked to show where the damage as Kangaroof was unable to provide that information or even a report or the numerous pictures he took. When they tell you they'll work with insurance I would be very skeptical. I've had a few other contractors come out and physically show me all the storm damage and they are actually working with the insurance company not just saying they will. Use caution Note: to the response of the owner… while I agree he was in contact with me and was polite I respectfully disagree. The adjuster gave him a chance to show him what damages he found and to help the adjuster make a decision further than the original approval and I was told that was not accomplished. There seems to be a miscommunication somewhere and I was told by your representative that “he’s getting us on a technicality”. When asked for a report or even something to send to the claim specialist I was told there was not one made per se. I completely understand it’s a long process but in my opinion there was no “fight”

Dear Joe, Thank you for sharing your feedback. At Four Seasons Kanga Roof, we pride ourselves on being advocates for our homeowners, and I’m sorry we didn't have the chance to see your claim through to the finish line. It’s important to clarify that a standard insurance claim typically takes 90 to 120 days to reach a full settlement. In this instance, our team was asked to step in and navigate the complexities of your claim, but the agreement was terminated in less than five business days. Within that very short window, our representative, Alfonso, was in constant contact with you, your adjuster, and your agent. His efforts actually resulted in the adjuster approving and acknowledging a wind damage claim—a significant first step. To move from a partial approval to a full replacement, there are specific procedural steps we must follow with the insurance carrier. Unfortunately, because the process was halted prematurely, we weren't afforded the time necessary to secure that maximum outcome for you. We never guarantee a full replacement—that power lies with your carrier—but we do guarantee that we will fight for you if we see legitimate damage. We still believe your roof has damage that needs to be addressed, and we sincerely wish you the best of luck in getting it resolved! My experience with this company was very disappointing and raised serious concerns about transparency. I was told the document provided was simply an Insurance service agreement (permission slip)to communicate with my insurance adjuster and help with an estimate, with no obligation to hire them. After reviewing it, I discovered it actually included terms that could bind me to use them as the contractor if the claim was approved. When I addressed this, I was told directly that if they worked with my adjuster, I would have to go with them for the job. That was never disclosed upfront. This kind of approach feels misleading and puts homeowners at risk of unintentionally entering into agreements they did not intend. Please be very careful, read everything thoroughly, and don’t rely solely on verbal explanations.

Dear Rhonda, Thank you for taking the time to speak with me today. As the owner and a member of the Burkhardt family, I want to emphasize that we take our reputation and the treatment of our prospective clients very seriously. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed meeting with your roofing specialist, Jim, and I look forward to our follow-up call tomorrow morning. Regarding the miscommunication involving Jim's manager, please know that no information was intentionally withheld from you. I hope our conversation today provided better clarity on the purpose of the Insurance Service Agreement, including the protections and benefits it offers both to us as the contractor and to you as the homeowner. We shared the agreement for your review specifically because we want our clients to be fully informed before signing any documentation. I am glad you reached out so we could address your questions. I look forward to our call in the morning to discuss whether you would like to move forward with a retail or insurance path, and to ensure we are the right contractor for your needs. In the meantime, if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me directly at billjr@kanga-roof.com. Sincerely, Bill Burkhardt, Jr. VP, Owner Four Seasons Kanga Roof

I had a very disappointing experience with this company. They showed up for “emergency” roof snow removal and started working without providing any estimate or discussing pricing upfront and they gave me the impression that it is a small job . After completing only a small portion of the roof (just above the garage, not the whole house), I was shocked to be told the cost was $1200. When I questioned it, they immediately dropped it to $731, which makes it clear the pricing was not transparent or consistent. Even they didn’t figure out the main reason for my problem and they were planning to do a job worth of about $4000 for no reason . I was lucky that they didn’t show up on the schedule day and I canceled with them . Finally I fixed my problem with another company with $ 500!

Hi Sherif, Bill Burkhardt, Jr. here, VP and one of the owners of Four Seasons Kanga Roof. I personally reviewed your file because I take our reputation and our "Kanga-Rific" level of service very seriously. While we always appreciate feedback, I feel it’s important to clarify the facts of our interaction, as your review mischaracterizes the transparency and dedication my team showed you during a sub-freezing emergency services request. To date we still have not received your payment for the emergency services performed in January that you are voicing a concern about. Regarding the Pricing and Transparency: You contacted us for an emergency service because you were concerned your garage ceiling was on the verge of collapsing. Our inspector, Dominic, diagnosed the issue as heavy snow buildup and ice dams. You then signed a contract specifically authorizing our emergency technicians to be deployed at an emergency hourly rate. The pricing was transparent from the start via that signed authorization by you. Regarding the "Price Drop": The adjustment from $1,200 to $731 was not an admission of inconsistent pricing. You had signed for a significant scope of additional preventative work—including insulation, 200 feet of heat tape, and gutter repairs—to ensure this ice dam emergency wouldn't happen again. As a courtesy, our team member, Deanna, authorized a bundle discount on the initial emergency labor because we believed we were moving forward with the full project. You chose to cancel the remaining contract after receiving that discount on the work already performed. Regarding the "No-Show": We pride ourselves on being there for our neighbors. At no point did our team fail to show up for a scheduled appointment. You canceled the contract for the additional work before Deanna was even able to put the installation visit on the schedule. We are genuinely glad you found a solution that fits your budget, but we respectfully disagree with your assessment of our team. Our

Thank you Kanga Roof for such an easy process! I had to replace some shingles and had my gutter replaced after my neighbor’s tree branch fell on my roof from the nasty storms we had the weekend of 4th of July. When I requested an estimate, Shane my salesman didn’t pressure me into signing a contract right away. He provided me a quote on site after evaluating my roof and gutter. Installers Greg and Brandon who came to my home arrived on time, made sure I was notified that they arrived and were going to start work. When Greg and Brandon were finished the area was clean where they worked, made sure they came to the door to notify me that the job was completed and showed me pictures of the work that was done. They were also courteous with placing the pack of leftover shingles by my garage door and offered to even move it if it was not in a good place. The only snag I would say is better communication to the customer about the process between sales and the service team. Just letting the customer know that you need to wait for the service team to review the pictures taken by your salesperson, waiting for material to be ordered before the service team can contact you to schedule the work performed. It was an easy process to pay the remaining balance by email link along with a detailed report with pictures before and after of what work was done.
