  Okay I thought for a minute I was overreacting, but after the other comment I realize I was in fact not. Two people, a man, who told me his name was “John Jarvis” but told another neighbor his name was “Dave” when asked about a permit, came knocking on my door, with someone I assume he was training. My problem is not with her, she was kind. It’s with him. This is exactly the type of company I would never ever want to hire, and will be posting in the local Facebook groups (Royal Oak, Berkley, and ferndale) to not hire, based off of one big thing that trumps all of the stuff I am about to say. This company lacks bare minimum honesty and integrity. I would not trust them with simple things, let alone doing anything with my home. This morning (7/9/2026, at about 12:30pm) I received a knock on my door. Not just a knock, a huge pounding knock, that made it sound like the cops were at my door to notify me something dire happened. (It’s crazy that the other comment says that as well, because I was texting my sister in law who lives next door, and that’s exactly how we described the knock) I looked up. Solicitors. Terrible knock, but that’s fine, they’ll go away, let me get my baby back to bed. NO! Again, huge knocks, still trying to put my baby down and now settle down my toddler, I ignored it. After the third LOUD BANGING knock, my toddler went to the door and told him his dad is at work. They went on their way. Now that my baby was up, I watched out my door to see them go to my SIL house who lives next door & also has very young children, and do the same knock. I waited and watched, they did it twice over the span of a few minutes, and before they could bang on her door for a third time, I opened my door & told them that usually, if people don’t answer their door after the first series of super loud knocks, and you walk past their house with kids toys out front during prime nap time, that they most likely aren’t going to answer.   Some door to door salesman came pounding on my door like the police and rang my doorbell several times while my baby was asleep. By the time i got down there within 1 minute of the pounding and doorbell, no one was there. Do NOT appreciate them banging on my door and not sticking around for me to tell them that in person.

  Beware…..As you can see by taking a look at a few pictures of the awful job American Standard Roofing did on my 8 year old roof. They came out twice to make a flashing repair 1year ago and the job they did was deplorable. Looks like they caulked the edges of the flash, charged me $$$ and left a really botched job behind. Of course it’s leaking again and the living room ceiling has to be repaired again!

From what we can see, this may be related to a lack of preventative maintenance. If your home is under large trees, as suggested by the moss on your roof, additional maintenance is often needed to prevent these kinds of issues. Leaves can build up on gutter guards, potentially causing discoloration to the roof, gutters, and fascia. Over time, this can lead to fascia deterioration. Additionally, the chimney appears to have had previous repairs, but the mortar is still deteriorating, which could also contribute to leaks.   The person at the phone was great and helpful, unfortunately the technician couldn't even care to show up on time or call earlier than 3 hours after, if they can't do something that basic, it's hard to trust them to do a good job on my roof

  Due to the recent rain and snow, our service department has been inundated with service requests. We told you when you called that it may take hours to get to your house but you demanded that we keep you on the service list. We have all of our service team working overtime trying to get to all of our customers today and we appreciate the trust they have given us for the past 3 decades.

  Roof came apart the 2nd day of installation and today its still coming apart and they didnt honor their contract. Poor! I am a customer and I did show them the contract and video of it coming apart.

  It been 12 years since I got my brand new roof. The company I was told, sold to a different owner. Now my roof is no longer covered for repairs. Wow it's leaking and no warranty. Something really needs to be done about that.

  Called for garage roof estimate, 500 ft/sq. They called back and said $4500 minimum for garage roof. I was a licensed builder many years ago. Highway robbery- i told them don't bother to come. Gimme a break.

  Came out last week and told us he would send an email about the quote. We have yet to hear back. We ended up going with another company.

  We apologize for the lack of response by our salesperson. Although there is no good excuse, our salesperson had a medical issue and he didn't hand off the proposal to his supervisor.

  While we haven't contracted with this company yet (the reason for 4 stars, NOTHING NEGATIVE ABOUT THE COMPANY), I wanted to leave a review about an interaction had with Jon. We've had quite a few solicitations from a number of different companies, and the interaction had with Jon was lightyears ahead of most other companies. Jon was polite, professional, respectful, and accepted our answer at this time. By comparison to the pressure and tactics used by some other companies, this polite and professional demeanor has already set American Standard apart in the best possible way. The interaction was pleasant and If and when we need a contractor for the services American Standard Roofing offers, this has already set them significantly ahead of the pack. More companies should conduct themselves the way Jon did when going door to door in an area.

  We had a wonderful experience with American Standard Roofing. It started with the salesperson Mike Maines that told us we only needed to do the lower part of our colonial roof. We had another company out first and the told us the entire roof needed to be replaced. Mike did not even try to have us do the whole house. We appreciated his honesty. They did a great job with the roof and repairing parts that needed new wood. Warren did a fabulous job with the repairs. The team that came out with our new gutter matched it perfectly to the color of our house. Special shout out to the woman who chose the color of the gutter by looking at a picture of our home! They also matched the new shingles color to the old one!!! I would highly recommend American Standard Roofing!!! Ask for Mike!

  Incredibly helpful! I had a chance to work with Patrick. This guy went above and beyond. With no visit scheduled and just listening to my problem, he gave me a full analysis and report on how to fix the issue. He responded to questions on a Sunday and his communication skills were excellent. I have never seen such great service before. I fully intend to call these guys first for any roofing needs in the future.

  I would recommend ASR to my grandma...well my best friend and my parents for sure. We have used ASR twice and recommended ASR twice. My dad was so impressed the ASR estimator was on time and the project leader combed his entire lawn for nails.

  The crew at American Standard Roofing performed very well at our house in Brighton. They arrived on time and got to work immediately shoveling the snow from the roof and tearing off both layers. The quality of ice dam and shingles is excellent. The placement of the new gutters and downspouts was perfect. They finished the job in a timely manner and cleaned up the site. I would recommend this company to anyone lokking to install a quality roof

  Worth the read! So, If you are looking for exceptional quality, very fair pricing, excellent workmanship, superior customer service then consider this your sign to hire American Standard Roofing. 5 🌟 Star Award for the empathy shown towards me and my family. We hired a different roofing company last year and purchased all of the materials through them and had it delivered to my garage. Long story short, that did not end as planned, and I was left with a garage full of roofing materials and no one to do the installation. I saw ASR 5 homes down in my subdivision in Farmington Hills, and decided to go check out the crew. I called the number on the sign, and they sent a representative out within an hour (this was after 6:00 pm!) He was extremely kind, and ASR gave me an EXCELLENT Price to do the installation (only) and to finish the job that the other company no longer had the capacity to complete. When the crew arrived they were ALL SO AMAZING. My crew was led by 'Cash' and he gave me a level of peace in my mind that I never expected. He said that he treats every job like it's his own home, and that they would never do anything less than exceptional for the families they serve. The crew did a full tear off, replaced several sheets of plywood, and installed my new roof in less than 12 hours - the other company estimated a 3-4 day installation. He assured me that they were VERY good at what they did. My Salesman Zach was equally amazing and the Project Manager, Jessica, also made me feel seen, heard, and it was obvious that they ALL at ASR really appreciated my business. Now, I have an AMAZING installation, a 10-Year Labor Warranty, no more Mold in my Attic (which concerned me with a new born and other young kids). But most impressively is that I now have peace of mind and can rest assured knowing that my roof is ready for Michigans unpredictable weather and I am extremely - extremely - extremely THANKFUL and GRATEFUL to this company and the awesome staff.   I receive several quotes from different roofing company, but the quote that I got from Brent was a complete quote in writing outline in detail which made my decision very easy and the price was right. Also the roofers Matt, Juan, Anthony and others with Tees crew, Finish up my roofing job in Lathrup Village. They did an excellent job. I am totally impressed with their knowledge and understanding of roofing system. I knew having my place re-roof would require an experienced crew to understand what is happening. If you are to have a re-roof or new roof put on I would recommend them.
